Great story. My best friend was kicked out of his house for having a black girlfriend. He was 19 at the time. I invited both him and his girlfriend to come stay at my house in the meantime and I don’t regret it one bit. They lived with me until they finally got an apartment and eventually got married! His parents refused to come to the wedding and cut him off entirely. But love always wins in the end. 💕

Like I will always say, Racialism is a Spirit of the devil in a human being magnified in hate. God is love , we are His image ...now tell me why would you hate your own image. The devil having a grand old party with humans who dont know their creator. Time is short I pray that all the people that are allowing this devil to use them to hate another human because of their color to repent and turn back to God. There is a firey lake for the devil and his angels, it's not meant for mankind , but since mankind want to allow the devil to use them to hate what God created in His image , they too will be going there with the devil and his demons.

I am 71 years old and in an interracial relationship. I've been with this woman for 8 years. We both consider you as Role Models not just as an interracial couple but also as human beings. it's your normalcy. However, in America it's different because of past history and present. It's going to take quite a few decades if not centuries, before the US has the mindset of Europe, thanks to pass discretions. I think the more people have open dialogue, the better it'll become.

Wow! The irony of an American going to Europe and acting weird about interracial relationships. That's so crazy to me. I'm not really sure what is going on the US. It's supposed to be so progressive but it seems so...stuck sometimes. Living here, sometimes I feel like I'm watching the progression of an autoimmune disease

@Angie Gi this is definitely not enforced here in the US. I've lived in multiple states here and got married in the US, and have not heard of such blood testing. I heard that decades ago it was common practice for engaged couple to get blood tests to check for STDs but it was not treated like a regulation and is less common now since nowerdays many people get such test done by default whenever they have a physical or some doctor's visit.

I was married to an amazing black woman back in 1989 and she taught me good. We divorced in 1992 but still remained friends until she passed away a few years ago. I’m now remarried to another black woman for a little over 11 years now and have an 11 year old daughter.

I’m black and my husband is white and we’ve been married for 37 years and have a son whose 36 yrs old. We are blessed beyond measure. We’ve had some issues throughout our years but what was important to us was that we’re a family. When we were dating there were some people who had a problem but we just chose to ignore the ignorance of others. I’m so very happy for you both. Unfortunately, racism seems to be everywhere. Even here in Canada, a lot of people are speaking out against racism, and people are telling their stories of racism. I don’t know if racism will ever end, especially in the world we live in today, but I pray that it will.😢

Preferring to socialize, be with & date or marry one's own kind is NOT necessarily racism. I happen to prefer the company of others who look like me, without shade or hostility to anyone else. People are too quick to yell racism. I have a right to my feelings, just as others have rights to theirs; there is no need to call names or indict attitudes.

Laureen Williams the question is why do you not decide to socialize with people that don’t look like you. Are you scared of the color of their skin. Does that bother you? Bc that’s kinda what you making seem like. You don’t have to marry someone that doesn’t look like you. But to say that you CHOOSE not to socialize with anyone outside of your race IS a problem. In my opinion that’s what I call not being racist BUT BEING PREJUDICE. it’s your right to prefer who you want to be around but at the end of the day people like you... act like your scared of the color of someone else’s skin. Kinda. I do see them as an interracial couple (with an emphasis on COUPLE). It doesn't bother me in the least, though especially since two of my brothers married women of another race. The most important thing for anyone should be that the two are compatible. There is some same- race marriage that shouldn't happen, by the way.

I love interracial marriages. There is nothing wrong with marrying interracially. Society can only progress when racial barriers are broken down. This world is just a mean old place. Charisma and Cole, I am in my 50s, and you just have to not pay any mind to hateful racial people. People are taught to hate, teach your children to love.

In 1981 my own mother said to me just before I left for the Marine Corps basic training not to go marry a woman of another color. In 1985 I marry a beautiful girl that was not even close to being white. Was immediately disowned by my mother and family. All was well because their was love in my life. It was my life and I will live it my way. Yawl are beautiful together. Keep smiling and lean on love.

@@rachmae4180 I think you are right about the pressuring and coercion thing. I think a lot of these racist families initially intend to pressure and coerce you into changing your mind and think they will prevail, and then their pride and idiocy allows them to take it too far. It really is self sabotage because they raise a child to be a strong independent thinker with the confidence to make decisions, then punish the child for the same traits.

What? I remember my family was upset because i didn’t marry a Mexican, and i know his mom was okay with it but his sisters and some people would make fun of him because he is white and I’m Mexican. Literally his sister posted something on Facebook about me that said “what my brother has to deal with.....and it had a picture of hairy arms, polo shirt, jordans, and hot cheetos” when i literally don’t look like that, i can’t eat hot cheetos but everyone likes them? But yeah because of her i got so self conscious about my body hair, which everyone has. She would try to call me ugly because i am brown but after a few years i just yeeted her out of my life and he did so too. I just hate the fact that someone could be so racist....just because i was with a white man. Now we have a little boy and he’s just so beautiful🌻y’all know interracial babys are so cute lol. But yeah i just ignore people now.

What if home is surrounded by racists. My mom grew up in the south during civil rights era and as soon as she graduated high school left for the military. The first time I heard the n word was when I was about 7 because I was watching soul train and dancing. I been married 22 yrs to a black woman and her family hasnt been part of my life for 30 yrs

Kathryn ....racialism is a Spirit of the devil magnified in hate, it's not the people that hate another race it's the Spirit of the devil that is using that person to hate another person. The only way that person would be free from all that hate is to repent to God for hating on a person He created in His image and give their lives to God. That Spirit of hate will continue in the world unless mankind repents and stop allowing that Spirt to use them to carry out his wicked acts.

My husband always says to me “I’m so proud of our loving interracial marriage” lol. We’ve had fun over the years learning about each other’s different cultures and heritage. My parents are also an interracial couple and had to overcome a lot of racism and bigotry even within their own families to keep the love alive. Both sides eventually warmed up to them once the grandkids came. (Yes, we were that cute). =) You two are awesome. Keep speaking your truth and spreading that positivity!

I'm Norwegian and my husband was Dutch. I'm now a widow, but we had 52 wonderful years together. I have lived al over Europe and in my 'world', people marry who ever they fall in love with. I'm a black woman married to a white man happily for 12 years. I have experienced hate on his side of the family, but I also experienced love. We have subtle things that happen to us like for instance when we go out to eat we are never look at as a couple. We are often given separate checks and I even had waitresses completely ignore me like I wasn't there. I don't care though and I would go through it all over again to be with the man that I love.

I’m biracial, and grew up in DC. I appreciate you talking about this. My family often talk about race. I was raised black and even though I knew I was also half white, the reality was I had to live like a black woman. It took a long time for me to understand who I am, and how the world perceived me, but I did eventually find peace with it. I’m proud to be both and I’m happy to see more people like you guys! Keep loving each other!

I've heard that from biracial kids now and then and have to remind them that it's a responsibility and a blessing of knowledge to be perceived as black when the chips could have fallen either way. Would you rather have been perceived as something else and been oblivious to the trials of people who do not have that luxury? Some non-black people have empathy and refuse to ignore racism but many choose oblivion because it's not their problem. The latter is no way to live and let live.

I was taught by my parents we’re all member of the human race, our differences make us unique. Although we are all different in some way, it doesn’t make anyone better or worse because of our differences. If you treat everyone with kindness , most people will treat you the same in return. I’ve always tried to live by what I was taught. I love you two and I think your babies will not only be beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well, because their parents will teach them by example. 🦋

Cee cee society will continue to be the way it is until mankind return back to God. Mankind has strayed away from their creator so they do not know who they are, they are made in Gods image and God is love . Mankind suppose to love each other and not hate. Hate is of the devil , and it's the devil that is working through mankind do cause all this chaos and separation. God said people perish because they lack knowledge, if mankind only know that they are God image and He is love , they would love each other. It’s 2020. I’ll be turning 59 this year. Racism has actually gotten worse! I’m Latina and have experienced my own racism. AfroAmericans are my people too! It’s heartbreaking that black men and woman are still dying because of it! This is America, a melting pot of many beautiful cultures! Racist people are envious people. This has to stop! It will stop! After watching your video the old adage of "you can't fix stupid" is the first thing that comes to mind. I know comments like that must hurt to read but you two are much more than rude and untrue words typed on an electronic keyboard. You two are such an inspiration for so many people and it proves once again that when God answers prayers he gives us what we need and not what we ask for. The only way to overcome those with the nasty comments is to keep doing what you are doing "staying positive and living it every day".

I'm a black woman, you love who you love no matter what race they are. Racism is taught in the home. My parents taught us to love all races, was no discrimination in our home, judge people by their character not skin color. I also raise my daughter to luv all races, no discrimination in my house. Hearing and reading those comments about your relationship pissed me off! Those people are just cowards! Akyah and I got some pretty nasty comments on some of our videos. A few talked bad about Akyah being biracial. One man even commented, "You are the first blacks I've ever liked." I was totally taken aback. Someone even commented that they couldn't believe how intelligent we were!! Look guys...you have a beautiful love story, so keep doing you! ❤

When I watched this, Michael Jackson's song Black or White popped into my head, the line, "It don't matter if you're black or white" is so true! It really doesn't matter. My daughter is married to a british guy. They have been married for 5 years. They have written a book that will be coming out soon on Amazon about their struggles. Actually I did not know all of the hell they have been through. I think it is good they are aware of the problems are willing to help other couples. Fun fact: I had to learn what interracial meant when I started watching English videos (Dutch is my first language). I had never heard of it. There is just no word for it in my language. Sadly, racism is everywhere, but it sometimes baffles me how societies can be so different 🙃

I think that couples from different backgrounds can fall apart because of a failure to handle differences, talk about their challenges (and any stress they create), and external societal judgment and prejudice. After watching you guys videos from the past, I haven't seen nor since any type of negativity in ya'll relationship. Those are the type of signs that you know that y'all heading for a blessed and healthy marriage. And the only way to guarantee any chance of success is to know what you're up against. My daughter and her boyfriend plan to marry and are also interracial (in the south). They have experienced racism u mentioned regularly. But they have also had the same conversations you shared. Thank you for being so open and honest. Great examples to others of how to see and treat one another.

My grandparents had to move to Canada in order to get married. My African american grandpa was arrested and put in jail for being with my white grandmother.

Yes it starts in the home. I NEVER taught my children about race when they were growing up until they started school. A child and teacher started to treat him differently so I asked my son what color he was and he said "orange" because he has this beautiful light skin. I asked him what was the color of the person who was mistreating him and he said "kind of pink." I tried not to laugh. After it happened too many times and by different ones, I had to start telling him about the different races. We are equal in God's eyes. It is sad how cruel people are and that they have so much hate for what really doesn't concern them. They hate what that they can't control it.

To the misunderstood. I have not failed my children. I said in the beginning I did not teach them about race. They encountered this racial discrimination in elementary school. I wanted them to know that we are all treated equal. It was until that encounter I had to teach them "LOVE" not hate or one is better than the other. I had to educate them on what they might/will face as being of a darker skin color. tim black and abbey please know I have educated my sons very well. Thank you!🤗
