I'll be honest. I'd usually tune in to understand how women think. An hour later, I'd have forgotten what was discussed by the ladies. But this time round, I was intrigued by the guest's name in the title, wondering if it's just another promo opportunity for his latest single. I don't hate him or Sleeq, but their music is just not my cup of tea. But, throughout the whole episode, I have nothing but mad respect for him because of his perspectives and insights. I spent 3 years studying engineering when I was in poly, because people around said it'd be advantageous for me since I studied Additional Mathematics in secondary school, only to barely graduate for my diploma. I also took up a comms degree course at a private institution because one of my poly lecturers said I should consider going into journalism. But, my grades were average at best. I got into video production, and I'm now working for an MNC, holding a managerial position, jaded with the daily fire fighting. I'm always toying with the idea of leaving, but unwilling due to comfort levels and stability. At least he has the balls to wing it and pursue his passion. I don't even know what I'm passionate about. I can also resonate with what Germaine said about having kids. I thought I loved kids, always daydreaming to have a few of my own, but if I am being honest with myself, I love my solitude more. Do I want to have a place of my own? Yes, but not because I want to start my own family. It is so that I can live with my parents and take better care of them. What the others have and want, may not be what you want. Don't let the expectations of others burden you.
This episode is mind-blowing 😳 I never realize that I'm actually always sacrificing my happiness for other's good, and keep chasing for more, but you guys make me to think of slowing down & look at what I have right now, thank you Hush ❤
