It's always delightful for me to see boardgames with outstanding, tactile components. My favorite is Little Town. The components aren't that special, just worker meeples and tiny houses, but not only it's satisfying to play with such wooden bits, it's just heartwarming to see the workers wandering around to gather resources from any spot, then building houses on any spot too. It feels so real and adorable to me, to see tiny people making a new living.

Happy to see Oak and P'achakuna get more love! They're both fun games that don't feel too gimmicky with their pieces. I've also got Dead Reckoning, which just arrived, and I've got mixed feelings about the ship in that game (particularly since the cutout pattern was not done very well and I had to use an exacto knife to help put it together). I'm sure Terrorscape will feel the same way when it shows up too. They're both functional parts of the game that serve a purpose, but are also a bit unwieldy in practice.

Danny, you're so positive, even when you're being critical. I love watching you be so excited about games. My favorite 3D component is probably the military marker in 7 Wonders Duel. It's terrifying to see that piece slowly marching towards you. My second favorite is probably the bird feeder dice tower in Wingspan.

I definitely agree on the 5/5 for the Tzolk'in gear. Believe it or not there is also another game with tweezers, try The Fuzzies!

Hi Danny, I personally love the 3D components of games, it really adds an aesthetic appeal and enhances the mechanics of the game. The Everdell tree is visually stunning, and I have it displayed around my house so I don't even take it down. It could be personal preferences, but if I see a game that is colorful, has artistic appeal, and even quality pieces, it makes me want to buy the game. Cascadia, Survive from Atlantis, Wingspan, Lost Ruins of Arnak, and New York Zoo, are a few that I own. I also appreciate how you show the components in this video, sand it's made me want to check out The life of Amazonia, Packakuna, and My Shelfie!

Pictures looks very cool! I have heard of another game with tweezers - and dinosaur bones! It was called Fossils. Leaf was inspired by leaves in an Arboretum that's in walking distance of my house!

Since making this video, I have now realised that there are a few other games with tweezers funnily enough! :) I love leaf. Oh gosh that Arboretum sounds amazing. Ive never been to one before!

Yeah, it's basically a big park with a lot of kinds of trees and plants - there is a winter garden, with plants like daphne and witch hazel that have fragrant flowers in winter, and Azalea Way (lovely in spring), and a boardwalk through a marsh with cattails water lilies and redwing blackbirds, and there is also a Japanese Garden though that costs money to go into. It''s associated with the university. I used to go there a lot, I need to go more often again! They have native plant sales too. @@BoardGameSanctuary

Hi Danny, Recently purchased Planet. The magnetic pentagonal terrain tiles are great and click easily onto the 3D pentagonal dodecahedrons; this sold me on it, but it’s a really sound tactile and spatially challenging game in gentle not brain-burning way. Great channel, always interesting viewpoints and topics. Cheers Glenn

Hi Glenn Thanks so much for your comment and feedback! Appreciate it. I have looked at Planet on and off. I just havent been too sure about the way the game kinda looks. If the gameplay is really good I might eventually get it cause I just love how unique the game looks and its theme. Would you recommend it? What are your thoughts?

Hi Danny, I think this has a veiled strategy, for example you might try to focus on one terrain type, and then the tile placement can have an effect as the globe fills up. As the globe evolves it’s also out of your control because to keep all the dimensions in your head is not possible, so it has surprises, like a tile you placed three rounds before screws up something you had been going for. However, it’s not like you’ve invested heavily, so it’s like ok what’s the next best thing I can do. I enjoyed that fluidity and it was simple to score at the end. A totally different game experience, my wife said there was a challenge to it but a satisfying end product…. It’s a game I’d like to show to people to say this is how ‘board’ games have changed….

i have the new version of cammel up and the pirimid is plastic with button fun . Love amazonia. friend has upgraded waterfall. i agree one game i was just like leave water fall flat. for quicker setup.
