I love word puzzles. I actually keep a word search book in my car. I also have games on my phone that I play every day. I love the dot to dot books as well. The bigger the better for me! I have one book that the numbers go to 100 and beyond! I strongly believe that puzzles books, brain games, that kind of thing helps the brain. For example, my mom was born 3 months premature with only a 20% to live and if she did live she would have mental health struggles in life. That was in the 1950's. This year she will turn 74! Every month when her money comes in she buys several puzzle books and goes through them all! Every day for several hours she does the puzzle books. They have helped her so much. Have a great evening and Happy Father's Day to Big Daddy!

Young chap! I’m only 34 (on Monday actually is my birthday) but I feel about 100! I used to love puzzles/word searches etc but since getting ill anything that uses my brain (quizzes/ hard craft projects/ reading more than a couple of paragraphs) makes my pain worse as my pain is in my face so anything that makes the face muscles work makes the pain worse. I have learned for the most part to laugh inwardly not actually laugh as that is agony! And crying my goodness that makes my face hurt but with pmt I can’t stop the tears unfortunately. I am so thankful that I can do my crafting, stops me going crazy!

My late mother loved doing Sudoku, Crossword, and Cryptogram puzzles for as long as I can remember. She enjoyed Sudoku puzzles the most I think, because she was a bookkeeper/accountant at our local hardware store for more than 40 years. When the business burned up(the old building was struck by lightning during a storm), she went on to being the head bookkeeper/accountant at our town's Nutrition Center, where she worked until the age of 86. She then retired, had lots more free time to keep up her interest in games & puzzles, until a month before her passing in 2016.

Hi Kayla! I'm 61 and I love brain games! Most days I work the daily crossword puzzle on the computer. I also love word search puzzles! Like you, I look at the puzzle first and see how many words I can find without looking at the list! Puzzles are good for the brain. I'm on a lot of medication as well and as you know, medication can give you brain fog. I pray that these puzzle books will give you the better brain power that you're looking for! Hello Ms Kayla and Big Daddy! I don't care what anybody says -- puzzles are good exercise for the brain. My favorite has to the the Jumbles, where you need to unscramble words and finish the puzzle with the clues provided. Usually it is a phrase or saying. I also like word searches, finding hidden objects, mazes and regular puzzles. I don't care for crossword but I will tackle Sudoku. I hope you don't feel too poorly after your recent treatments. See you in the next video and Happy Father's Day to Big Daddy!

Kayla, I enjoy trying the crossword and sudoku in the paper. With mixed results lol Your brain most definitely is not slipping, you're just like the rest of us. I also happen to be of the same opinion as you, I think all of these puzzles are very good to help us keep 'stretching' our brains, and make them work in ways we don't use them on a regular basis every day. Glad you did this video, I bet you'll discover you're very much among company with your subscribers! Good luck with YOUR puzzles!

Thanks for your input on these issues. I am quite a bit older than you 78. I have had to get used to a different style of life. I was quite active like you. I have same brain issues as you but as you age white matter in your brain changes. I have multiply issues too. Some of things haven’t been completely diagnosed. Brain fog I have had since in my 40s. At that point fibromyalgia was the cause. Since then other health problems have cropped up. I do crochet, knit, play the piano, word puzzles sometimes. I like the book you showed because it is large print. Need cataracts removed but haven’t been healthy enough yet. I just recently bought coloring book from Ollie’s and colored pencils from target. Thanks to your videos on coloring thought I would try it. Of course you know when you are stressed and frustrated you are more prone to being forgetful. Plus meds can also affect you. Think I will get a brain puzzle book. Thanks for all you do to help others. God Bless you both. Luv Shannon

Yes indeed, I love doing Sudoku. It is very challenging and I do it in spurts every couple of hours throughout the day. Sometimes when I come back to it, I see possibilities that I wasn’t seeing previously. It’s very satisfying to finally finish a hard one. My sister likes crossword puzzles, but I can’t stand them! Too frustrating. I usually get my Sudoku books at Dollar Tree, but will check Ollie’s for more. Thanks for bringing up this important issue. Next to me in my little craft trolly. Extreme dot-to-dot, Sudoka (a couple), word search (a couple), a sticker book, ultimate picture puzzles where you find the difference. Crochet hooks and notions, diamond art notions, plastic canvas, small knitting project and I think there might be some embroidery. I love crafts and when I get to my new house I'm going to have a craft room where I can scrapbook again. On the floor in front of me. Lots of diamond art pictures to do, two crochet and one knit blanket in the works, yarn for two blankets, a tote with yarn, diamond art cards and Christmas decorations. *laughing* When I was a kid my folks always got me a busy box at Christmas, full of crafty things. I loved it then and I love it now.

I think one thing we all need is to talk to each other. Sitting in the house alone with no one to talk to not even on the phone is a big part of why my brain is going to mush. We arent meant to not have conversation. Even if we can accept that we all may have different opinions. I mention i tellectual conversations. Not huge college level ones. Not political. Just talk about things and logical opinions and thoughts and discuss them. Even about minor things. Like your favorite color and why. How certain colors make you feel. The bible and scripture memory together with a like minded believer or different minded believer if you can duscuss why you believe like you do and not get angry or offended. Like really dig into some verses and use them to show why you believe this or that. Talk about gardening and favorite stitches. All sorts of things. Favorite everything . Anything upbeat or have a trusted friend to unload to. Im so far out in the woods and have no women to talk to. I need a friend. I love listening to people on youtube. But i need 2 way conversation. No kids. No family to speak of. My hubby doesnt talk much. Sometimes i feel um going to go nuts. Im 61 and i would love a friend from 20 something to 90 something. I sure miss my grabdma. I forget words too. COGNITIVE Kayla, love. I do search the differences pictures. Loved those as a kid in the sunday paper. Used to paint big eyed dolls and realistic ish ladies out of my head before my craft supplies left. Most of them anyway. 😢 wish i could replace them. Love to listen to your voice Kayla. Git my yarn and my husky is blowing her coat . 😮 Now what do i do. One ball of caron fell and looks angora now. I used to love to do a d trade ATCs. And Tangles. They really help you improve your drawing skills. And be creative for your brain. I used to love to cook as a creative thing making up re ipes. Cant stand that long now. We used to travel around but cant now. Im just lonely. I have t shopped in person in years. Its very hard to make friends up here. If i had known that i would not have moved up here. 😢 I hope you arent feeli g too bad this time around, Kayla. Smooch Phoebe for me. Oh i used to feed birds and do bird watching when we had our big house with low windows. Id sit on the floor and identify them here in the pines and write it diwn in a wild bird book i had. Had a half grown bunny i could walk past too. Saw a road runner in our driveway. And even saw a beautiful oriole or some kind of orange bird. And indigo buntings. Talk about beautiful. Black mold attacked us with no ins and they wouldnt cover it so we moved to a tiny aot in our barn. No place to put anything and couldnt bring things from down tgere or the mild would take hold here. That was 2014. Lost lots of photos and art work and supplies. These windows are up high. Id have to go sit outside at 6 am to watch birds but mosquitos would drain me if blood and my cat has become a hunteress. Maybe in winter. I like the cold. These 90 plus days arent for me. Anyway. Ive talked too much. Pardon me for that. Gotta let some out once in a while.

Crocheting and knitting is proven to help to stimulating the brain, but soduko and other brain games supposedly study show they don’t do anything

I like the word search puzzle books. I’ve been doing those for years. I don’t know how much it helps my brain but I enjoy them. I still am forgetful but I’m 73 so I blame that on age and all the medications I take. Lol! 🧶💜🙏🏻
