I have been running for over 35 years, and yes yoga is very beneficial. My rule is running days and yoga days are about 50/50 by the end of the month. I just do not have the time to do both on the same day. This video is excellent.

what type of yoga do you do, to complement the running? Vinyasa, hatha, bickram, ashtanga?

Marilo Nunez all of the above are great for all round fitness but to get into the deep fascia and deep connective tissue mix it up with Yin. Doing Yin complements all other types of yoga. But as you do more yoga you will find that you get into the more spiritual side of it. Yoga is amazing but it’s not just about the asana.

They become yoga specialist only knowing some yoga posture , The real people who knows the Yoga Philosophy and practice Yoga. They spiritually develop people we can't find them in social Media or youtube.

I'm not sure but ,if anyone else needs to find out about stop shin splints try Mackorny Run Fast Blueprint (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now )? It is a great exclusive product for getting rid of shin splints without the headache. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my partner got excellent results with it.

clearly you don't follow her, she's incredibly nationally recognized and well-known (also respected by many elite runners), and her winning record is amazing. She also owns her own business and trains herself. Mad respect for her.

@@kristinscherman2282 a 17:11 on a 5K is not elite. World record for women is 14:00. Elite times are sub 16:00. Also in 2006 when her record was set times above 16:30 were not elite. Yoga brings great benefits both physically and mentally, but I wonder what would have happened to her records if she focused relatively more on running and did increase her mileage. Anyhow, using meditation and yoga as a tool for productivity or running records or so I find a bit misguided. The goal of meditation is full liberation from suffering, the freeing of oneself from defilements of greed, hatred and delusion for the benefits of all beings. Part of that is letting go of the attachments to the physical body. In that sense she is enjoying the fruits of her spiritual practice and she is elite.
