Her proudest accomplishment continues to be when she was blocked on Twitter by President Donald Trump. Lynn has a B.F.A. in Theatre from Adelphi University, where she went on to teach courses in acting and stand-up comedy for the past 16 years. You can see more of her work at ripthelifeiknew.com.
Stand-up comedian, actor and writer Kelley Lynn has performed in the same lineups with Amy Schumer, Jim Gaffigan and Elayne Boosler. Lynn is probably best known for her comedy videos on RU-vid; her most recent video, “I’ve McFallen,” has been viewed over 50 million times worldwide. She’s also known for her scathingly funny TV reviews of shows like “The Bachelor” and “Dancing with the Stars.” The latter show’s host, Tom Bergeron, tweeted that Lynn was “witty and wonderfully snarky.”
Lynn is also a regular presenter at the “Soaring Spirits International” annual events called “Camp Widow,” a three-day conference held in the U.S. and Canada for widowed men and women. She is currently writing her first book, My Husband Is Not a Rainbow: The Brutally Awful, Hilarious Truth About Life, Love, Grief, and Loss, with a tentative release date of winter 2017.

I pray for everyone watching this video because I think we're all watching this for a reason. Don't ever let someone tell you not to talk about your past loved ones or to stop mourning them. I honor the people I've lost every day and that is the only thing that makes me happy and keeps me going. I will keep doing it no matter what happens or who says anything and you all should continue doing the same as long as it brings you some kind of peace.

Grief for a loved one is the loneliest place you can be. Or so I've found. I lost my boyfriend of 4 years suddenly and unexpectedly in February this year. 2/20/22. The next day I found my engagement ring in his room. I had lost my dad 3 months prior and my dog of 17 years only a month before. This has been the loneliest 10 months of my life. I will never get over him and moving on without him is the hardest thing I have ever tried to do. I needed to hear this speech. I'm working on myself but it is a lonely and sad existence. Thank you for these understanding and heartfelt words.

I'm sorry about your loss. I don't think moving on is the correct term. But just continuing on before we meet them again. I just lost my dog of 17 years as well a few days ago. I am so sad for you, but having been there myself i like many others can only say it will get better for you but will take a lot of time slowly slowly. Be good to yourself, buy yourself something every week, force yourself to go somewhere nice, find a new hobby or give more attention to an old one and at first it will be difficult but there is an old saying of time heals and it really does, i know because i have lived it too, pop down to your nearest homeless dog shelter too, its amazing the work they do and you may find a new 4 legged friend who hasn't anyone that cares xxxx

Talking about your loved one and being able to sit in your grief is healthy. No one ever knows how long it will take to be able to deal with the loss of a loved one. There are so many stages of grief and they can come in your heart at any moment. For me, what we do with our grief honors our loved one that has passed on. I heal when I get to hold people up as they loose loved ones. Sitting with people in their grief is humbling and full of the people for whom I’ve lost. Extending my love for others, gives the ones that have passed on their legacy even when they are not here anymore. They now live through me. Blessings to all of you.

the worst thing you can do to a person who is grieving, is to ask them to change the subject to something less depressing... bring them a cooked meal, instead, sit with them, and allow them to talk about their loved one and or cry about them, openly, without stopping them to talk about something else... Be there to listen, show interest, and understand.

" We can't change the first, but the second death....we can change. Keep that loved one in your thoughts, speak their name, don't be afraid to tell their story. You never "move on" you carry on. Just lost both of my parents within the last 14 months. Dad died suddenly of a massive stroke and Mom was devastated without him. I gave up a year of my life to take care of Mom until she passed from lung cancer almost exactly a year after Dad left her. That year was very hard but I am so glad I gave her that gift. She gave up so much to give me life when she was only 17, back in 1963 that was very hard. I am so grateful we had a year to spend together and really reconnect. I love you Mom, and I will tell your story. Thank you dear lady for this talk, I really needed this. Love and peace to all who have lost loved ones, you are strength and a voice for those who need it.

I feel the same way. We have no choice. We HAVE to go on and live because others love us. My mom died of covid February 2021. I understand and accept that God, in His sovereignty, allowed this to happen, but I can't find joy in being here. All the positive things are of no eternal value and the negative hurts so it seems to me that it's better to be with the Lord and my mother. I won't hurt myself because I love my family but I would much rather be with my mom. I have also found that my pain is my connection to my mother. Memories, are just that ...memories. The only thing that is a REAL experience is the pain I feel of losing her. I am hanging on to that pain because that is all I have that is truly a connection to her. I would gladly trade that pain for a nightly dream of her.. the kind that feel SO REAL. The kind where you could feel the pressure of her touch! But I have only had one of those. Of if I had "unusual" experiences where I just KNOW that it's her. As of now, my pain is my comfort and I will never "move on".

Souls have their mission and that includes how and when they take their exit. If you can talk to loved ones who passed they would probably scold you for thinking you could have prevented how they passed. People live their lives to get experience for the soul and when that is accomplished they leave, never mind their earthly connections that they leave behind. Those who are left behind for them there is a lesson also, so let go and focus on how you live going forward - your loved ones will always be a part of you now....so do not be stuck in the period of their death...but remember your soul also has a mission and being in their life was part of that...you are still here...why?!

When I lost my wonderful husband, I learned many things. The most important one? You need to make room in yourself ~ your brain or your heart, or both, for your new, and constantly evolving grief. I’ve tried locking grief up, because it’s so bothersome. It appears at the worst times, when you least expect it, and is like a stubborn child it WILL have its say. In the beginning, you wonder how to control this monster, because after all you have a life to finish living. I controlled it by giving it 30 minutes a day. I choose the time, and I timed its allotment. When 30 minutes was up, so was grief’s hold on my day. Gradually, like a satisfied child, the grief quieted, and went into dormancy. It will rise up, during a drive, and music coming on the radio, at movies, filled with emotion, and with memories; but I’d be lying if I told you it ever disappears, because it doesn’t. It’s like a wound with a scab, it’ll get smaller over time, but it will leave a scar to remind you it was there. We each find our way through those dark days, and gradually you begin to live again. My husband gave me the very best gift. A life with nothing left unsaid, and with no regrets. He always told me “we are not promised tomorrow, so we have to live for today”. Good luck to all going through it. You are not alone, as many have been there before you. ❤️

I'm native American. Where I come, from it's completely backwards from what's taught in mainstream culture. When the baby is born we grieve that baby and everything that baby will go through, throughout its life, all the hardships and pain. When that baby grows old and dies, we rejoice and remember all the good times. Sure there are sad moments but the ones that count, are the happy moments and successful moments.

I've come to a point where I'm so comfortable with death I embrace it's part of life. Not in a morbid sense, but the beauty it reveals from how much a loved one moved us. I've lost my friend from college to cancer in 2016. My aunt last year to the same disease. This year my cousin tragically lost her premature baby. Followed by my grandmother who died in peace at age 101. Nothing will justify forgetting their existence, let alone my nephew who didn't get a chance of living a grown life. Nor my grandma who lived her fullest life. They're irreplaceable. It meant as much to my cousin to carry her son and love him to the end. Talking about him is her healing process. I speak of him because he still exists in our hearts, among all those I've mentioned. Grief is a healthy expression of the human soul. The more we oppress it, the less connected we are to life overall. Thank you for this beautiful message.❤️
@kelleyfunnylady

My daughter, 43, is dieing from ALS, diagnosed this past June, is already totally wheelchair bound, cannot feed herself and can only eat pureed food. My hero, my best friend, aka my father died when I was 11. I have achieved what is considered a fairly prestigious degree in the mental health field, not that it REALLY matters or anyone cares, but it did help conceptualize the many theoretical/neurological models surrounding grief. During discussions with family/friends/clients, I get spoken to as if I have grief figured out. If I understand it so well, I must not experience the gamma and pains of old losses. It’s funny, no matter what clinical understanding I have of grief, it doesn’t matter. It never has mattered. Somewhere deep within my core exists a small child waiting for his father to come back through that door again. His heart is made up. No matter how many times I challenge the boy with affection, love, and explanation, he stays the course. He forever waits for things to go back to a way that cannot exist anymore. I finally accepted him years back. When I know he’s there, I give him all the love I can because he’s my dad’s son. Innocent, unconditional, pure, and always yearning to be reunited with his father. Bless you all my friends.

Losing one's sibbling is so psychologically painful that I wouldn't even wish such a traumatising experience to my worst foe. In a place where I come from, we usually say that the surviving sibbling loses part of him/her. My eldest sister died 7 years ago and our mother followed 4 years later. Everyone in the family seems to have moved on except me, and they can't comprehend why I have not been able to forget about them? But how come one's descendants can just wipe their ascendants out of their memories so fast? I'm wondering what this world has come to? My condolences to you and the entire family, and may your brother R.I.P.

My darling ten year old Grandson was tragically killed three months ago, I cry every day but I am still talking about him still recalling all the wonderful memories but people are as you say nearly embarrassed and no longer ask how I am just say time will heal the other day I was asked if I wanted a Christmas hat to wear at work , I was mortified, I will never get over his death but I will learn to live with it somehow as will my son who is going through a hundred times the pain I am I hope all of you suffering finds your own peace and your own way through it all

I am lost. I just lost my dad. Out of nowhere. He was my go to. My person. The fixer. The one who held everything together. The one who I went to when i needed that healing love and hug. He was here this morning, when I left for work. I was just leaving work when I got a call from my mom, that my dad had fallen while walking the dog. I thought I was rushing to a scene where he had fallen and severely twisted his ankle or broken his leg. Instead, he was taken away in an ambulance and he was in such a state, that my mom was told she could not ride along in the ambulance. She was told by first responders, that she was not allowed to ride to the hospital, with the love of her life and her best friend, while she believed he was suffering. She knew. By the time I arrived, in under 5 minutes, she was a wreck. She looked at me and said "it's really bad. Very bad." Within the time it took to drive to the location, get my mom and the dog, drop the dog off at home and speed to the hospital, I already had the feeling I would never get to speak to my father, ever again. I was right. Just as my mom had said. I don't even know where to go from here. He was my rock. The fixture of our family.

My twin sister died last November 2022 . That was unexpected she's sick but not terminally ill. She's even working as a regular employee. Her death was so sudden. Unexpected. She was the Joy of our family. She's my best friend. She's the only person in this world who knows me the best. And now that she's gone , I felt like a part of me also died . Felt like I cant never be happy the same way I was before. Up until this moment , I still longing . her voice, her smile everything . I just miss every single moment with her. I miss her so bad

Losing my mom was detrimental to me. 20 years with her was just not long enough. I miss her with every fiber of my being, everyday. It will never go away. I will never be over it. I’m almost 25 and it still feels like I’m lost and stuck in that day. People don’t understand. It is so lonely. A piece of me died with her that day.

Same. My mother died when I was 23. I sometimes blame myself. If only I know she'll die too soon. I'd trade everything just to see her again. Just one hug. I miss her voice. I miss everything. I'm not who I was before. I'm still half dead.

I lost my dad, the love of my life, a month ago. I'm 24 and I can't imagine my life without him. I'm not living, I'm surviving. My heart is bleeding and I'm alive just because my lungs work automatically. I don't know how to help my mother, because I can't even help my self. This video should be seen by all those people who are trying to give you life lessons, without knowing how you really feel every day. It's too easy to say move on when the pain is not yours.

Dear Everyone in the comments. If I could hug all of you I would. If I could sit with you and listen to your memories of your loved ones, I would. If I could have met the one you speak of, I would have been blessed to have even known them. We all should treat each other in such a way we would have wanted others to treat the one we so long to speak with again. you story is amlost exactly the same as mine,my father died when i was 15 after fighting blood cancer for a month in the hospital (4 years out of the hospital) though we always felt like he’s healthy and always was home when i came back from school and i never felt like i had a sick father to the point that i didn’t expect that he would actually die on some level. for me what comforts me is that i believe he’s in peace weather he’s conscious or unconscious and that he lived his full life and i don’t have any unresolved issues with him,the only thing i would’ve wanted is to know a little more about him and live with him a little bit more sometimes i miss the sound of his voice and the look of his hand, his smile, his face but hey everybodys time runs out and his had to,mine is still going,i can’t go to him know i have to live, and that’s what i’ll do,its what he would’ve wanted to anyways. so live a little live through him to him whatever way you want to just remember he’s waiting out here for you anyway, just waiting till you come back from school.

What's even more aggravating is to hear that kind of advice from a person who has never lost a loved one... someone who tries to justify showing their sympathy. Love to each of you grieving the recent loss of a loved one. It has been almost 34 years since I lost my dad, and while the storm of horrible grief has passed (and that took several years), I still cry sometimes (like now) because I miss him so much, and I grieve the 34 years we haven’t been able to share life. My heart goes out to those who are trying to comprehend and accept and adjust to the loss, because people who haven’t experienced it don’t understand, and neither did I. It is so very hard 💗
