One thing I especially respect is the fact that Cher used auto-tune purely for artistic effect - NOT to make her singing voice sound better or more on-pitch. Instead, the little artificial skips and glitches take a good song and elevate it to something even better.
Cher has blessed us with tons of HUGE hits and great songs, Save up all your tears, I found someone, Bang Bang, Take me home, I got you Babe, The Beat goes on, If I could turn back time, After all, Walking in Memphis, Paradise is here, Womans World, One of us, SO SO MANY.
This is the only Cher song that I grew up listening to in the 2000s (isn't that when this song came out?)... I always thought that the chorus was "Do you believe in love after love?" Years later, I found out that it's "Do you believe in life after love?" Makes sense now watching this video
@@Jahani31 I was DJ'ing that night..lol ( I was the one who turned you on to Smart E's "Sesame's Treat " lol . I would love to see Billy react to that song. It TOTALLY changed how I looked at my childhood..lol"
This is definitely one of my favorite songs because Cher is such a legend and had such good music she even had some good songs with her husband Sonny Bono so Billy you should check those out
The following by the Queen of everything Cher is a must watch. "Heart of stone" "I found someone" "We all sleep alone" "You haven't seen the last of me"
I'm not sure, but I think Cher was one of the first artists who used autotune. She's the only one who I excuse using it 😂 Please react to Save Up All Your Tears. And you have to check out Dead Ringer For Love with her and Meatloaf.
This ain’t a song it’s a HIT it was ruling the hit lists for months in Europe . It’s a hit that marked Cher big come back to the music scene. This was a first song with auto tune, I remember this was something nobody have heard before
This song was so pervasive when it first came out that the The Onion ran a spoof about it. Here's the first part: Cher's 'Believe' Now Faintly Audible Everywhere In America 10/06/99 3:00PM GREAT SALT LAKE DESERT, UT-Building upon its presence in every health club, supermarket, bank, clothing store and waiting room in the U.S., Cher's "Believe" was heard Monday by bauxite miners working 1.4 miles beneath the Earth's surface in a remote section of the Great Salt Lake Desert, confirming suspicions that the hit dance track is at least faintly audible everywhere in the nation.
I love Adan Lambert's version of this song from Cher. The Kennedy Center Honors of 2018 is the one to watch. Cyndi Lauper and Little Big Town sing Cher songs.
I feel so blessed getting to see her live in concert. Her performance was fantastic, mesmerizing. She changed costumes throughout in what seemed like no breaks! I wish I had her energy, she and I are now about the same age, actually she is older than me, I am 72. So I am pretty sure she should not wear some of what she used to wear. LOL
One thing I think that is important to point out about this song, is Cher's past. She used to be unconsolably shy, that and what she went through with Sonny, I think it just makes this song all the more powerful.
Loved your reaction to this song!!! Watching you dance was fun!! You need to do Dark Lady, Halfbreed, Gypsies, Tramps, & Thieves, Dead Ringer for Love with Meat Loaf, You Haven't Seen the Last of Me from Burlesque. All amazing Cher songs!!!!
U r on a Cher ran today and I am LOVING it. Growing up in the 70’s, I didn’t see females on the TV that I could relate to me as a little half breed Cherokee girl. Then, Cher appeared & I was SOLD. I wanted to grow my black, straight as long as hers. I used to wrap a towel around my head and pretend my hair was long. lol. Still absolutely Cher.
That sound is either a real guitar or sampled one but nevertheless it feels to be inspired by 60's surf / guitar instrumental music ala Chantays, The Tornados or The Shadows. :) The video seems to carry a bit of an alien impersonator theme in it.
At least she only used autotune for effect, not because she couldn't sing! Autotune is okay by me, if used to enhance the song like here....If it's because you can't sing... then stay away from a music career.
Cher I found someone Main man We all sleep alone all these songs have her boyfriend at the time in the video.his name is Robert Camiletti Heart of stone has a video montage of her family including
Hey Billy you should check out either James Corden's Carpool Kareoke or if you have a strong stomach and need a good laugh James Corden's Spill your guts! 🤣
Billy. You need to react to jasmine elcox from the Britain's got talent. She sings this song and puts her own twist on it. And it makes tge song more beautiful and raw.
I've loved Cher since her days with Sonny when I was a kid. But this song not so much. However, please react to Adam Lambert singing it for her & in tribute to her at The Kennedy Center Honors. It's so beautiful it moved her to tears. Guaranteed goosebumps.💙
Love Cher's voice, just got a thing for unique sounding voices..sigh ..just to nerd out a bit, the vocorder, used on her voice, was combined with the input synthesizer and voice output to create the robotic texture of the voice. Vocorder's didn't change the pitch of the voice just compressed it into that sound. Autotuners are used to literally change the pitch of a singer to make it at a certain note. Cher if you listen carefully her voice is on pitch the wave just gets compressed to sound robotic. Nerding over. lol And yes to Michelle Barry's statement!!
Ever seen the Will Ferrell movie, Land of the Lost? It has the best use of this song ever. I cannot hear this song without wanting to rewatch that movie!
Nice video Billy. Keep up the great work. Keep doing the cool singers Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Brooks and Dunn, Brad Paisley, Dolly Parton, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, Reba McEntire. Can you also do some group songs.
Yeh she real and Cher's voice is real too. When you have a background of singing live every night and there Was No Trax to use then. Here are a few of the song she's sung outside of pop genre...her and the man who she made herself form the performer she has always been by. Sonny. Thease are ballads or torche songs that might sound a little slow for some but if you're familiar w/the style, they'll be just fine. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0lSbkZ0mcF4.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-727Xe34p-_w.html Hlhtbgo ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DCyWDuQPzng.html
