RU-vid shorts and Tik Tok are flooded like crazy with videos sensationalizing the Belgian Malinois dog. This is NOT a canine suited for anyone's family. In the wrong hands, these dogs give a pit bull a run for his money. I have personally seen police officers on the end of one of these dog's lead line, just like I have seen them on the end of a horse's lead line. You had better be an established Alpha with these dogs. Don't get me wrong: I happen to admire the super intelligence that comes equipped with those models, but having put it that way, not everybody can handle a Lamborghini and need to stick with what is geared for their pace. The GSD, with average time and attention invested in him, is thee guard dog for me, and best all-around family-loyal pet one can ask for given their calm demeanor unlike their French cousins. Just look at Super Nova. Enough said.
I have a 13 wk old GS and she is full of energy. She likes to bite and jump we are trying to break her of it because of the children but with my husband she barks and wags but bites him all the time. We aren't sure if she just wants to play ruff or there is aggressive means to it. Any advice?
You can't stop puppy biting but you CAN learn to manage it. I use old towels, bite rags, flirt poles, etc. I go into great detail in my Puppy Training System Course. It is a life saver for people that get it and apply the principles: abts-of-dog-training.teachable.com/p/younger-puppy
Crate train your puppy is best advice.. when she is getting mouthy put her in crate with something to chew on.. you can also redirect her with a toy to chew on instead.. don’t break that spirit of her trying to bite at that age .. it’s about building confidence in a young puppy not breaking them down . Structure of course
