Do you have plantar fasciitis?? These shoes are for you! 

In 2000, I had plantar fasciitis that the doctor said went into my bone marrow. I had a little brown spot on my heel. I had custom insoles made, but with the insoles, none of my shoes fit!I had to buy all new shoes. I am grateful to the orthopedist who treated me, I agree that those cushy memory soles give one a false sense of security. Thank you so much for reminding me about what I need to stick to!

I hear videos like this but i hav tried insoles, asics, hoka, brooks, altras. The best type of shoe for me is minimalist footwear is what causes the least amount of pain and being barefoot.

I had this in my left foot, and it always happened in a time of utmost rest (so in bed), stabbing pains underneath the heel. My doctor looked for bone spurs (x-ray/sonogram), of which I had none. Just a little "swollen/inflamed". Come to realize now, just about 10 years later due to a video by Healthy Feet Podiatry, that there is a long ligament there and that opened up the world to me, the penny dropped and it all made so much sense. I mean as a layperson you have 0 insight into anatomy and I think if your doctor doesn't go into too much detail, then you stay puzzled. It one day to the next just went away for me, but I had this for *years* before it let up. And yes I got different footwear! Sturdier house-slippers (which is what I can wear / I have a disability).

Good advice, so I'll be removing the coolness factor from the number one spot and move it down a bit.

When I had PF I didn't know what to do I wore socks 24/7 and after about 6 mos it went away....with heat as well.

I had surgery on my right foot and Achilles’ tendon. I am always struggling to find that shoe that doesn’t hurt my feet and make it swell up.

It would be great if you could do a video on the best shoes for people with CRPS of their feet. At the moment I am only able to wear crocs. It would be good to see any recommendations.

My wife has this and has tried everything you recommended but is still in pain. Not sure what she should do now….

I had surgery for this but it has made my pain worse. I am in sever pain none stop. My foot doctor doesn't have any other suggestions. She shot my foot again with cortisone but it did nothing. Any suggestions?

My podiatrist said to do this test on shoe when looking to buy. Grab shoe with toe end in one hand and toe in other hand and twist to see how must give it has, it shouldn't be too soft and gift support but not too stiff either. Then set shoe on flat surface and push down on toe and heel should pop up showing good break over. If it doesn't come up really will put strain on plantar facia muscle. Twist the heal to make sure there is good support for heal. He said that I had the worst case of plantar faciitis he has seen in his whole career. My plantar muscle shown up dense as bone on xray. I found what helped me with the pain in winter is to literally stick my feet in snow bank. Not kidding. Feels good after that. One other tip after I get the inflammation down is to take a golf ball and put in sock or sandwich bag so it doesn't roll away from you. Roll under foot and nailing all the tender areas. Do both feet the same or one will feel good and other will hurt.

I cannot wear backless shoes. I bought some backless for slippers, made my feet hurt!
