@@skyriseenglishacademy824 "The video’s purpose is not at all to offend any community" - Ah yes, this makes all the difference. My bad! Great job in identifying the sound changes due to regional influence, really good, I honestly appreciate it. I just think, "regionally influenced sounds present in the accent of a SOUTH Indian speaker of English" (in my opinion) could be written as "....accent of an Indian speaker of English". Or maybe I am wrong again because of my "utterly weak comprehension skills"? I don't mean to hurt you again, good sir! Thanks for wishing me luck, I need it to change my "utterly weak" status to at least "bearable". I wish it for you too! Take care now :)

I have one question - You opine me to read the description "first". This shows that you are convinced that I did not read the description before I constructed my comment. Well, how could you then give feedback about my comprehensive skills based on the "FACT" that I did not understand what I read, when you know I did not read at all? :)
@skyriseenglishacademy824

Burger I thank you for your suggestion. The only confusing element in titling the video as ‘Accent on an Indian speaker’ is that we nearly have 200 types of regional influences spread across all the zones of our country. In other words, an Indian speaker could be identified as someone originating from North, South, East and West and thus the viewers or learners would be perplexed about which zone I am talking about. I apologise if my comment came across as indelicate. Just that many people do not care to read the description and begin to criticise the content of the video, which is actually made with good intentions of helping people out with their language skills.

amit_ murmu I did not intend to stereotype South ever. Since many South Indian languages have strong vowels and consonant sounds and these often interfere with the English vowels and consonant sounds, some strong influences are bound to pop up. And it can be seen in most but not all South Indian speakers. I hope this clears some air. Thanks.

I agree with Abhishek. I am a north Indian but I spent my formative years in the South. As a result, I picked up an accent which is close to what Abhishek described in the video. This has now become my natural accent in adulthood. This is not an issue in the South where I live because everyone speaks like this here but when I travel elsewhere in the country, people point out my accent as different and "south" sounding. I would like to have a neutral Indian accent with no regional undertones
