My friend who was 100% legit talented but chose to fuck with females and ended up have a kid instead of go to the gym proved that to me, he choose going out over the gym a lot but when he was there he was good, he just didnt have that work ethic
It matters. A lot even. The thing is, hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard. If a talented fighter works his ass off, you will never beat him if you also work hard but lack talent. World champions have both....
"I dont believe in talent... well some people they have talent thats good it helps when you have talent. But as long as you have alot of determination and willpower, that's all you need." - Mike Tyson
@@AyushMehta8 yes that is true, but even with his gifted genetics he still managed to fall off towards the end of his career because he didn't have the same determination anymore because cus died. which proves that what he said is still valid, his drive was taken away and all he had left was his genetics and skill, which didn't end up very well
Some people have talent but lack passion and dedication. It's about knowing the game. We all have the potential to fight. Hard work yes but what's more important is to love the hard work. You get your ass beat yes but the strong will to move forward. I never see a guy who work so hard yet fail to win fights. The will to win is important than anything. Don't be discouraged by the naturally gifted fighters. Train hard and get stronger everyday👍
Also an underrated natural advantage can be dimensions, if a guy is 6-2 6-3 at like 154 and 160 and has quick hands, it can be a big advantage. Also, having a long reach can also be big
talent could only get you so far The top three fighters with the most gifted physical talent in boxing history are Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, and Roy Jones Jr. All three of them were FAST as hell, when they were young. But that's just it, Only when they were young. Once age slowly catches up to them, they slowly lose their talents, and they gradually decline in their later careers. Nobody beats Father Time. Father time will eventually take away your physical talents, so you can't always rely on them. What matters is your commitment and dedication to the craft of boxing.
A fighter in their prime can't be compared to the faded version of themself. When thinking of talent, you think of peak performance, not beginner skill or faded glory.
I think that the best talent is learning quickly. Some people are talented in the sense that they already know how to throw a punch and how to move. This however impedes you from learning new ways of moving and punching as you are already wired a certain way. If you start as a clean slate but learn quickly you won't be slacking off, as since you start from zero you will be motivated to work hard, but you still learn fast so the hard work pays off a lot
Lol my first day it was me 6 rounds vs a fresh guy each round but hey I was putting in work Raw skills Taught skills God gifted No matter which hard work and dedication
Low key the reason I stopped the first time because I didn't have no passion into it plus the spirit wasnt there but now i done alot of changes since then im getting back into it and STAY THE FUCK in it because i may not be talented in this activity but i wanna get in shape and learn it 😊. And when i feel the time is right after training awhile I will switch from classes to bootcamp where i can spar with experienced fighters and get ready to fight. But first start with the baby steps
I got into a kickboxing gym when i was 17 and my kicks are ass because of my leg surgery but I beat older and heavier opponents sho have been training for a while. Then you get into the trained fighters and they fuck you up.
What I don’t have: athleticism, speed, endurance, youth (59), talent, mobility, skill, good head movement, good foot work, coordination. What I do have: I will get in the ring and I hit really hard.
Coach V! I'm from India, I really wanna be the world's best and here in India the trainers/training is not very good. I'd really like to talk to you and get coached by you. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you
I got my ass whooped by high level amature turning pro multiple times cause I opted to spar him again the next week 😂, best experience imo I mean not while in there, it sucks and it's anxiety inducing, but it gives you an idea of the levels and motivates you because you realise how much better you can get, You learn things and get to grips with high stress situations.
I tried boxing when I was young but I didn't go to far because my dad said that my body structure was not the proper. If someone by nature is more musclurar in legs and don't have so big arms is this a disability for boxing? The proper body for boxing is to have thin legs in order to have good and speed footwork?
Not necessarily. The power in the punches actually comes from the legs. Its your foundation. You need strong legs to move around the ring during the rounds. Look at mike tyson, he had huge legs. Its about being able to transfer the weight fast. Thats what gives you power.
