Come with us as we take a group of Jeeps across Waldren’s RidgeTrail 75!
While most of us were staying at Windrock Campground, we met at the general store. Headed down Hoskins Gap Rd to Walden’s Ridge.
Walden Ridge (or Walden's Ridge) is a mountain ridge and escarpment located in Tennessee in the United States. It marks the eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau and is generally considered part of it. Walden Ridge is about 74 miles (119 km) long, running generally north-south. Its highest point is at Hinch Mountain (near Crossville), which reaches 3,048 feet (929 m) above sea level. Sometimes Walden Ridge is called the Cumberland Escarpment.
Walden's Ridge is for high-clearance vehicles only. The trail has large rocks, long steep ledges, and steep ruts. The ridge runs along the very top of a mountain and is only one vehicle wide. There are a couple of trees to winch to if needed, but not many to choose from. The view is beautiful! The trail continues through the woods and has many large rock climbs. It is a very fun technical trail. Most rock crawls had a bypass. They were steep descents and ascents.
