If you are looking for a different beach, but still want to be close to Pattaya, Jomtien and even Bangkok; this might be for you!
Most visitors and expats don't know it because it's not well-publicised. But it has a different laid back vibe, and I think it's well worth staying for a few hours!

it's a lovely peaceful day on the beach there, and i found the food was really cheap and very good, all served under the trees, thanks for reminding me......really should get out there again👍👍👍

Thanks, Toby! Those trees do offer some great shade. Beach seems to be well maintained with guys watering the trees and generally making it look nice. I loved it. Might bump into you there!

looking great but I come from Southend, Essex so are used to golden sandy beaches with palm trees and the cockle boats.

Hi BB. Did I forget to mention the cockle boats? Oh, there's loads of those! There's Cockles and mussels, alive, alive, oh. It's near Pattaya City where the girls are so pretty!

Who threw the coconut at you at the volleyball court? They missed 🤣🤣 it does look nice there. Would be interesting to see it on a parasol day and the weekend though.

Oh, the trickery of youtube videos! Maybe I was playing with myself again. Yes, wouldn't look as good with the umbrellas out, but they don't cram them in so much. Or just take a picnic and a towel and go on Thursday?

An attractive beach compared to Pattaya beach. However, how was the water quality? Anything close to Pattaya makes me worried in terms of what lurks in the water.

Thanks, David. I think the sea around pattaya is much cleaner than it was years ago. But Ban Amphur looked really clear. Not that it proves anything. Although fish swimming around close to the shore is not a bad sign. The water is quite shallow, so I'd certainly give it a go!

I'd share the same concern. In fact, anywhere on this narrow part of the Gulf of Thailand, even on the other side at Hua Hin, is not very inviting for a swim if you like crystal clear waters...

@Wanderlust-in I understand your concerns. Without sending samples to a lab to test, probably the best you can do is trust your own eyes. The water looked really clear, and the beach wasn't dirty. But when in doubt, best relax on the beach and admire the view!
