This interview was great. Joe Navarro is great for live tells. The issue here with something work and others don’t is each person has their own tell (idiosyncratic behavior). For example:When Dan asked chance (5:46) if Joe was good at tells still Chance states “no” he then has both hands move through his head by the ears and back of his head, single shoulder shrugs then leans forward sits up and leans away, while fixing his shirt. All of this in context could be seen as discomfort to the question. Later in the conversation they even talk about how some tells are strong but were once weak and weak is now strong. This is showing that Joe’s work is still significant the difference is that people are actively trying to make it hard for others to pick up on tells. Chance even said it him self sometimes it takes days to confirm tells. Every tell needs to be confirmed in context and the only way to know this in poker at least is to play multiple hands to confirm a tell.
