I stern warning for anyone watching this video that has never shot an Atlas before. Don't even touch one unless you really really really hate money. I saw an Athena to rent at a range last September. Within 48 hours, I was on the phone with Atlas' customer service placing an order because every other handgun I own feels like garbage in comparison. LOL. In all seriousness, I LOVE my Atlas. I have never experienced this level of quality before and their customer service is unmatched in my experience. Yes, they are very expensive but they have a layaway program. You make an initial deposit and then can make payments towards it while you wait 6 or 7 months for it to be built. The wait is excruciating but so worth it once you have it in hand.
They’re made by a bunch of super nice folks to boot. A good chunk of them shoot at my local range and make up the majority of our USPSA club. All really committed to the sport, living and breathing the products they make.
I agree. People tend to buy low tier guns when they first start shooting and higher tier guns as they go. Might as well save money and just get 1 great gun.
@@hopewilliams6705 so, true! Two days ago a very nice gentleman was in the lane next to me shooting one of those expensive Sig's and he was all over the p!ace. He offered it to me to try, I was amazed, at 10 yards it made a 5 round single hole. Then I had to go back to my Glock, there was a difference, but I can't shoot the Sig in a Glock match.
Happy Father's Day, fellow dads. This looks like a great gun. Shame they won't let you have it for 1k rounds. I'm thinking about the OA ported compact vs. the Bul Armory Pro 4" (that seems to never be in stock). Might just do with OA or of availability 😆
@@TheHumbleMarksman Same here. My SFX9 is by far my most comfortable carry 2011, but the grip texture is completely inadequate when sweating. Had to add some talon grip tape to it. Always a balancing act….
Unpopular opinion from someone who’s had an erabus, ares and artemis, that level of craft is cool but it essentially takes the fun out of it for me. Still very comparable times to a glock or m&p, but the amount of effort needed is just silly by comparison to where I just stick to the plastic guns worried the fancy stuff is just gonna make me be lazy and suck.
_"By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you'll become happy; if you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher."_ *~Socrates* May I ask what size glove you generally wear? Looking for a reference to the grip size since Atlas' are far and few between. Lastly David, would you say the grip is akin to a 1911, CZ or perhaps even DWX? The contour of the grip angle makes me think the Atlas pistols may be unique unto themselves. Thank you for the clarification. Stay classy my friends.
I have always find funny the names that you give to guns. This one is the first one that they I find right on point and definitely you got me lusting for the sex machine.
$6600? Hmm. If pistols are your game, that may not be so outlandish. Some brands of trap and sporting guns cost 2 - 3x that to get into, and those aren't show guns; they're working guns designed to go tens of thousands rounds between servicings. In competition, a subtle difference in performance can separate the winners from everyone else.
I was gonna sell my p210 and get the new OR DWX but my wife was so angry so I didn’t. Thought it was the price but it’s bc she didn’t want me selling my p210 lmao
Watched this on the range to the range this morning...yes, while driving. Been waiting on this one or the Apollo. And then low and behold, ran into the giant himself at the range. Was happy to see today he only had one mustache. Nice to meet you, man. Happy Father's Day. Keep the excellent content coming!
It's fathers day and men still talk about not being able to comfortably purchase things with their money, and being scared of their wives. Pathetic. What kinda wives did you guys choose?
I have no use for a $200 hammer or a $88 fork, regardless of the quality of craftsmanship and selection of materials. Yet in the firearms industry manufacturers will spare no expense on materials and workmanship to only deliver a marginal difference in performance yet there are fools everywhere eating it up. At what point would anyone think that spending $6600 on a pistol makes sense?
$6600, it best be a sex machine, and it had better perform some favors for you while you shoot it. for that kind of money, it better do lots of things. any of these pistols at this price point had best be works of art, and sadly they look like tools.
