In the Netherlands I’ve learned to use PVC conduit in the seventies, since it’s mandatory here, but I’ve never ever seen it glued? The clips mostly used are nailed clips with the nail already in, way faster to install and if you clip it properly it won’t come apart when pulling the wires. Also we use spring benders and if the corners are very challenging flexible conduit.

Love PVC conduit, so easy to install and bend . The white should not be used out doors as it can adsorb uv like and deteriorate , it can also become discoloured ie turn a light yellow. Fantastic video as always Gaz👍👍👍👍❤️

That’s awesome I have a home workshop I need to wire , very helpful. One question why can’t you install it below zero?

I think it's because it's brittle at freezing temperatures, so it will likely to crack when you bend it or cut it. Also, it'll expand in summer and will bend.

Hi guys. I have a question. I have a s.w.a. cable clipped to the outside of a house and then buried in concrete and appearing again at a garage supplying a consumer unit. The length of the cable is approximately 15metres. I believe that it is 6mm. There is a 30m/a rcd fused spur in the house protecting the s.w.a. fed from a 'b' type mcb in the consumer's main board rated at 20 amps. The consumer unit in the garage is supplying three twin sockets and two flourescent light fittings. The small ring in the garage is supplied with a 20 amp 'b' type m.c.b. and the lights are supplied by a 6 amp 'b' type m.c.b. and a 45amp main switch is incorporated in the consumer unit. I have trip-tested the sockets and the r.c.d. in the spur goes out well within the specified time. I think it was 11ms to be precise. Is this method of wiring compatible with 18th edition wiring regulations or should i disconnect the earth from the s.w.a. and spike it with a T.T. earthing arrangement totally separate to the PME of the house?

No rcd jn garage and no gas or water pipes. Should I put 100na rcd down there?
@brianoneill350
@brianoneill350 2 года назад
@@anthonystark6372 If it were me I would put an RCD in garage and an RCBO on cable going to garage with time delay or discrimination so that the 30 Ma RCD in the garage trips first. The earth should be from your DNO. No TT unless your main earth is TT. No equipotential bonding required. The armoured cover of the swa should be earthed for safety.
