“Studio 1” rhymes with “expensive one”, no thx. It might be the most cracked DAW this decade if its good; (might take over pro-tools in terms of price).
I need a booth because I'm in an apartment. I have a 4x6 Whisper room which I made even more soundproof by using Safe and sound insulation and a layer of drywall. I also used 4 inch bass traps which help reduce the boxiness of the sound drastically.
Studio One 7 is next month. All will have pro version (no more lesser versions like artist). It's over for all of ya'll lol 😂 and the continuous updates and feat will be insane. They listened to the users and the upvoting worked, ggs
What I use is a foam ball, and then a blanket behind me to absorb any reflections from the back wall into the mic. In theory it’s a fully covered system.
INCREDIBLE timing. The last peaces of gear for my studio JUST arrived today, I have decent equipment even for recording in poorly treated environments, but i got all the materials for a booth, spare space for a booth, so this episode is gonna decide whether I’m gonna start building one today or no 🤣
3 way monitors are amazing. If 2 ways are like you're looking at life regularly than 3 way is like awakening your sharingan. Everything is so clear, it's like you can even predict whats gonna happen next.
I must be the only person that love the Adams LMAO!!! The problem with your hi end struggling could've be do to your compensating from comb filtering from your hi's bouncing off the desk and ceiling to your ears and such. Congrats on the new monitors....I prefer a nice vocal booth with good diffusion like in the professional studios. I hate those booths that are filled with Auralex triangles.
I let my truth b2301 with my kali audio 6 inch and they sound amazing they compliment eachother so well I play them through my Apollo console app and the truth monitors I have them dialed in more towards the high end and the kali audio they naturally sound more mid range to low end when I bump up the bass in that Kirk 12 inch woofer I got the whole neighborhood jumping 😅😂💯💯
I would definitely say no. I have the comet pro isolation ball. It adds some muffle to the vocals. But a little EQ, perfection. Imo. Absorbing panels come into play with mixing through your monitors. But other than that…decoration 🤷🏼♂️
I thought I was the only person that didn’t like the sound that comes from the eyeball being applied. A pop filter is really all you need tbh. It does what it suppose to do and it does well, nothing more and that’s okay. In my opinion, the natural sound coming from the source shouldn’t be modulated just prepped and clean “enough” to be altered when mixing.
This whole UAD Apollo discussion doesn't really make a lot sense. You can use UAD interfaces and DSP Engines for DSP alone and run UAD plugins off them, without using them as the audio interface. Studios have racks of satellites or UAD Apollo for processing and use high-end converters from better interfaces or ADCs.
Y'all should check out Andrew Masters' multi-room recording studio in Tennessee, as a majority of his house he converted into a legit studio for bands.
Sometimes the room ambience definitely adds layers of authenticity and personality . Until you hear a cat meowing in the background like what happened to me while mixing and mastering songs for my first album yesterday. ZERO SELF ESTEEM loading stay tuned
ngl not really, ive been seeing people get good quality sound with handhelds and sitting down in a crowded room. much easier to record with and more fun too. recording in a booth is uncomfortable, and if youre a decent singer you can probably sing the same sitting down, at least thats how it is for me. also yall should tlak about how other genres like metal or even modern pop (like dua lipa nad those kpop stars) and their good as mixing. loud full.
HOT TAKE 1 !!! - most people these days don't have studios.. they have vocal tracking booths and should be addressed as so... -theres only 2 chairs - there is no control room - no outboard gear - no instruments - there's only 2 microphones - minimal treatment relying on speaker and microphone calibrations hot take 2 !!! - R.E.A.P.E.R BOMB SQUAD IN THE BUILDING coming to a front of house near you, destroying all these old daws too lazy recode their main modules
Also main reason why not all UAD plugins aren’t native is the 3rd party partnerships with the plugins. Thats why some aren’t on the spark subscription. That why you have UAD plugins like CL1B not native
