Update 7/5/2024. New info has come out from Paris Tourism. You can read it here: parisjetaime.com/eng/article/...
You will not need a Pass Jeux per Paris Je T'aime (Paris Tourism) from July 18-26 for some places now: "Several cultural establishments located within the grey SILT perimeter will remain accessible through dedicated passageways. This is the case for the Louvre Museum (which will be closed on 25 and 26 July), the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac and the Arab World Institute, which will be accessible upon presentation of a reservation, without the need for a Games Pass. Those sites will be closed on 26 July."

Thank you so much! I knew to anticipate closed metro stations and lots of crowds, but didn’t know about the grey areas. I’m in Paris just for a day on 7/20. I don’t have reservations for anywhere within the grey area but was hoping to walk around near the Louvre, Tuileries gardens, and Notre Dame (even though it’s closed). Looks like we’ll need to find a restaurant reservation inside the grey line to qualify for the pass.

Thank you so much for this information! It is a life saver!❤Trying to understand the requirements of the pass has been difficult for me. My biggest question was whether or not I needed a Pass Jeux for after July 26th to visit tourist attractions that are not related to the Olympics? (i.e. Lourve, Arc de Triomphe) Based on my current Itinerary, most locations seem to not have a perimeter or is in the blue /red perimeter and I'm planning to take a lot of public transportation so is it safe to say I don't need the pass?
@frenchcrawl
@frenchcrawl 21 день назад
@@ashleybruce8053 yes it’s pretty confusing. But the good thing is after July 26th, those areas will be good to go, so you won’t need the Pass Jeux to visit. Some areas like place de la Concorde next to Tuileries and Champs de mars next to the Eiffel Tower are Olympic sites, so they’ll be inaccessible unless going to an event. Otherwise, the only thing that could be a hindrance are the road races - the Marathon and bike races. So certain streets and such will be blocked off on those days.

Hello! Thanks for all the info 😊 We are going to Paris from 23 to 25 of July, we had checked on the website and said literally: “ From 18/07 to 26/07 until 1p.m perimeter Gray controlled access” Do you know what happen after 1p.m the week before the open ceremony? Is normal circulation? Thanks in advance
@frenchcrawl
@frenchcrawl Месяц назад
So at 1pm on 26/07, the security area around the Seine will expand because this is the day of the Opening Ceremony. That is when people who have tickets for the Opening Ceremony can enter. From 27/07 and on, the Seine area will be back to normal. And only areas hosting events will have restrictions around it. Your dates 23-25 will have restricted areas along the Seine activated. So if you have any planned activities in the grey areas make sure to apply for Pass Jeux for each appointment (restaurant, museum etc). Have a good trip.

Does that mean I could somehow watch the opening ceremony from somewhere? I basically have walking access to the grey area without a ticket. Entry to these zones, which will provide food, drink and shade, will be between 3:30pm and 6:30pm, in time for the 7:30pm start. » More info: www.paris.fr/en/pages/olympic-games-opening-ceremony-answering-your-questions-27668 The lower quays are all ticketed. Upper quay info: « On the day of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the upper quays will be accessible only to spectators with access cards and to residents/professionals whose home/activity is located in the SILT and who wish to reach this location. To gain access to the grey perimeter (SILT), shakedowns and bag searches will be mandatory. Each time you enter the perimeter, you'll also have to present your Games Pass (a QR Code) to the police with identification. To obtain this digital pass, you must register now on the dedicated digital platform of the Préfecture de Police (Pass Jeux). For people without access to online services, a dedicated system will be put up in every arrondissement town hall. The Games Pass can be presented on a smartphone or printed out. It only applies to people aged 13 and over. » It starts at 7:30pm. Hope you can find a spot to view it!

What if I am a tourist who is just renting a home in the red zone, do I need to apply for a red zone pass for my uber to drop me from the airport to the house? and do I need a reservation to go to the grey area just to walk around?
@frenchcrawl
@frenchcrawl 25 дней назад
You can walk in the red zone. If going by car, you might be stopped if you don’t have a pass jeux, they’ve written all riders in a vehicle need one when accessing a red zone. I would ask for the place’s opinion as well. Personally, I would err on getting one just for peace of mind and it’s free. Or be prepared to possibly be dropped off outside of the red zone and walk. As far as the grey area, the main one of concern will the the Seine area from July 18-26. You will need a reservation to show a reason to be in the area when applying for a Pass Jeux since it will ask you (reservation, lodging, appointments etc). There’s no « general » pass to just go walk around. People have reported they had to apply for a pass for each individual appointment (Louvre, restaurant, even on same day). Outside of that all grey areas will be Olympic venues, which a ticket will get you in. As for where you can walk around once inside the grey zone, I’m not sure. So cannot say with assurance you can walk around wherever you wish once in. Hope that helps. I think people will have a better idea once everything is up and they access it.

They changed it earlier this year due to security concerns, unfortunately. So you’ll need a ticket to access any areas close to the Seine based on the security map. Otherwise you’ll have to find some place that’ll have a view if that is what you’d like to do. People who live in buildings overlooking can watch for free, of course. Unfortunately those areas will be restricted starting the 18th. Also there’s lots of construction going on for the games at the Eiffel Tower, so not sure how close people can get since Champ de mars is closed I heard, since there are two event sites there. You’ll have to apply for a pass jeux and also need to have a reservation to each place when you do (for example Louvre and Eiffel Tower require an application for each if you get tickets to both). So get your tickets first and then apply for the Pass Jeux. Otherwise there’s no general pass which just lets you in to walk around freely from what people have said so far. The best info will be the tourism site, which has shared what sites now don’t require it, here’s a good article: parisjetaime.com/eng/article/paris-2024-games-practical-guide-district-by-district-a1706 I’m assuming anything not on their list will require a pass jeux if inside the security perimeter. Their latest release on July 5th: events.parisinfo.com/adherents/comment_circuler_dans_paris_en.pdf And then the interactive map to check if the place you’re going to will be within the perimeter: anticiperlesjeux.gouv.fr/en/I%27m-informing-myself/opening-ceremony-olympic-games-paris-2024 Hope that helps.

How long do they take to send you the qr’s?

I've read give it 8 days or so. Also, new info has come out for certain venues that will not require a QR code now. You can read it here on the tourism site: parisjetaime.com/eng/article/paris-2024-games-practical-guide-district-by-district-a1706 What place were you looking to visit? You may not need to apply now.

@@frenchcrawl I wanted to visit the Eiffel Tower, trocadero and the Louvre.

@@ismaelboukouddouhabela5588 gotcha. Good news is the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre do not require QR codes now. But you need to have a ticket beforehand to get through their security perimeter. Check their respective site for more info and also the link I sent above. As for Trocadéro, depending on dates, it could be closed off, but they’re also turning it into a public area for celebrating athletes that is free for the public later on.

@@ismaelboukouddouhabela5588 FYI, I saw in Libération today (July 11) that 200,000 out of 500,000 requests have been granted for the Pass Jeux. www.liberation.fr/sports/jeux-olympiques/jo-de-paris-2024-200-000-pass-octroyes-sur-500-000-demandes-20240711_7GUCJQNGWJACTPT6BUNFPDWFNQ/
