For me they are so much better than streaming. I am old school and like to play entire albums but kids today attention spans are short. CD's are on their way out. It's a shame people have adjusted to paying for streaming services for the rest of their life's instead of owning physical media. Yes, I pay for Sirius even though I hate paying. The only good side of the decline of CD's is that they are available super cheap used.
Thanks for the info, but fact is - no CD player in a $50K vehicle sucks. The last thing I want to do with a new car is to have to rig up a sound system like I was 18 again and working on a 60's car.
CD players provide far superior sound than even flac files cannot approach. That is why I insist on them. Streamed music is compressed files with resultant horrendous sound quality, anyone who appreciates quality audio knows this. Unfortunately modern Americans care only about convenience & quantity, in their food & everything else, so we're stuck with lousy choices. CDs are for those who appreciate quality audio, not a sign of age.
I agree. I absolutely HATE that cars no longer come with them. I refuse to play music off my phone in the car. Literally looked this up because I'm about to buy a new car and want a CD player in the car in some capacity. Under the seat...something. I just can't deal with not having it. Also, I have CDs i love that I cannot find all the songs on streaming services. I've looked. I want them all and in the order they are on the CD. And its impossible. So I'll just install a CD player I guess.
Miami Bass just sounds better on CD; no copy of the music will sound as good or reach the lowest frequency. For us real Bassheads, CD is the only way to go.
rmblwgn INCORRECT! MP3’s compress the original signal and the sound suffers as a result. Most audiophiles can tell the difference. 3x better?? I think NOT! Do some reading before you pipe off. www.keithstead.com/and_more/cd_vs_mp3.html
Hard to believe you get to a certain age and become your parents. Except not me. 65 and still drive a small, fun, manual hatch. But still retro on the music--CDs not phone. Going to get a boombox that plays CDs and cassettes and plug the headphone out into the car's aux in.
thank you for posting this. OK but the reason CD players are cool is that you can click quickly through the songs you want to skip. You are saying you can't do that with this CD Player. By the way I can rip a CD and play it digitally however I like the simplicity of CD where this is limited menus clicking and my eyes stay on the road and not my monitor clicking though menus.
Hi guys. Agree I too have customers who enjoy the simplicity of CD'S and audio quality. Have you ever come across a device that plugs into the USB socket inline between the USB socket and USB device (pen drive) to raise the audio quality. Been thinking about this lately. Live a dsp or line driver that goes inline. Problem with USB sticks is the audio bit rate and overall quality.
Glad to hear the Valuable Information about how The CD player Buffers Disc !!!! I wasn’t aware of that!!!! Now I can pass on the Information to my Customers... thanks again 👍🏻
Just a little heads up to other Installers out there !!!! We’ve had 2 different issues with Installing these USB CD players !!!! Freezing the Entire Screen , and the other was Randomly ejecting the Disc for No reason ....
I purchased one for my BMW and it works well. I had to purchase a USBc and it is located in my arm console. I appreciate your video. It was so helpful.
It’s actually amazing how the CD has been kept alive for so long, with DVD and Blu-ray offering backwards compatibility. Where are the 8 tracks (before my time), and cassettes? On the computer side, floppies 💾, Zip disks and less popular media? MiniDiscs, Jaz, etc. And you can still buy CDs today, new, not in MP3 but pure, 12 track, one sided only. 😝
Informative video.. Why didn't you just double side velcro tape it to the inside of that compartment? The only thing I can think of, is if you wanted to remove the tape someday... and it won't come off, or it destroys the face of the plastic.
I'm one of those who spent the last 30 years collecting music on CDs - I could go ahead and rip it all to other media - but seriously, when you got a couple of hundred CDs, that is not as conveinient as just keep on playing the CDs like you used to. So, I got myself one of these fpr my new car (Renault Zoe 2019) and it did not work. At least not as I was hoping it would. It played a CD I tested, but then refused to play it the next time. And it could not find track 1-10; always start at track 11. For some reason, it will play CDs I burnt in my laptop at once, but I had to try several times with the real one, untill I got any sound from it. Most of the time, it informed me that no media could be found on the disc. No such problems when I tried playing CDs with it connected to my laptop - then it worked great, so I guess the infotainmentsystem in my Renault does not really recognize this device for some reason... So make sure it works with your specific model of car before buying this player.
I bought one just like it that was compatible for my 2019 Silverado but not sure which brand, got it off Amazon. So I followed the directions to hook it up. Put in a cd, and it worked. That is until I wanted to play through the entire cd, it would play through the first 4 songs then skip to track 9 or 10. I tried skipping to the tracks it was missing but it would still go from 4 to 9. So I sent it back.
@@adamloose1695 Does your 2019 Chevrolet Silverado have a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack (AUX port)? Normally the 3.5mm auxiliary input jack (AUX port) is located in the center console or front dashboard. My friend's 2024 Equinox has a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack (AUX port), and he got a POSSPO Jupiter CD player. The CD player works well in his 2024 Equinox as it is connected to the Equinox using both the AUX port and USB port. If your 2019 Silverado has a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack (AUX port), a CD player like POSSPO Jupiter with AUX input should work properly to play all the tracks in your truck. Hope this helps.
@@jamesg8246 I knew someone arguing at the flea market because someone tried selling him a stereo with flac on it. He thought that mp3 is the only format and he was getting scammed
Audio books sometimes use MP3 files, and the CD player they're suggesting in this video won't play MP3 files. Really odd that the company made a modern CD player that won't play MP3s!!!!
I am a singer and need hard copies (CD’s) to practice with and possibly use if wherever I am performing has a bad internet connection or no internet at all.
Hey dean or Fernando, I bought a similar one of these for my god mother, (not the same brand but looked identical) and she has basically the same vehicle but the Chevy version. Now, it worked great. Music played etc. However none of the CDs I played on it started at the first track, and would not play the songs sequentially. It basically was flung a good ol shuffle. Was this one like that guys?
lol i was left in total disbelief and dissapointment when I bought my 2021 Mazda CX5 and I started looking for the cd player with the new Kotzen/Smith cd in hand and it was just not there!!!! lol lol lol lol lol lol lol
Been wanting to add a raspberry pi to my audio system use it as a head unit this will work good can have CD now. You thank the raspberry would be good for high res
I have this and the issue I’ve come across in a 2022 Equinox is it doesn’t seem to play all the songs on the album and will go from like 1 to 5, to 7, to 13 and no it’s not on shuffle. But most confused as to why it won’t play all the songs.
Mine does the SAME thing in my 2017 Dodge Ram truck. So I took the unit inside the house and plugged it into my home computer and all the songs play in order. So WHY does it not work like that in my truck????
2022 Equinox should have a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack. My friend bought POSSPO Jupiter CD palyer for his 2024 Equinox. The POSSPO Jupiter CD player needs to be connected to both the 3.5mm auxiliary input jack and USB port. It works well to play all tracks. If your 2022 Equinox also has the auxiliary input jack, you can search POSSPO Jupiter CD player and check if it works in your 2022 Equinox. Hope this helps!
@@bruceyakoweshen1730 The 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 should come equipped with a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack. So you can consider POSSPO Jupiter CD player. I liked CDs cause you can Choose them and they sound nice. MP3 and UsB you can't see the artist name or the song name and it just takes the fun out of listening. I guess if you like Staring at the screen to figure it out and Hate driving like most young people do(They are ALWAYS in a TOTAL Hurry). Pisses me off that I pay 55K for a vehicle and it does not come with a simple ole CD player.
$350…… Are you freaking kidding me!! That thing cannot cost more than $15 to make and that’s stretching it! I don’t care how bad I want to listen to my CDs I’m not spending that for that Chinese piece of crap. I would find it hard telling a customer it’s going to cost 400+ dollars to put that thing in thier car…
POSSPO just released a new CD player. I am not sure if POSSPO's CD player will work with your car. Check with POSSPO about CD player's compatibility with your car.
I Am Wondering If It Will Work On A 2021 Hyundai Palisade. I Am Asking Because There Are Some Outlets That Say it Will Not Work In This Particular Vehicle.
My mom’s new 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo did not have a CD, would have been a $500.00 add on option and it gets mounted inside arm rest. So I had to put all her music on a SD card glad to see this is an option. But can you use a external CD player that you would use for your laptop and plug it in? Would that work just the same?
Great vid. CDs are still the best format. Manufacturers are being lazy and cost cutting. By forcing people to be lazy and stream it discourages CDs which leads to less payment to proper artists who deserve it too
I made the box to hold the CD player for inside the counsel but the CD player will not eject CD's in an upright vertical posistion! Only in the flat horizontal posistion. Waste of time, money and energy...
I am old enough to have used 8 tracks. I always hated them They would click during songs when the track changed. I thought cassettes would be around forever. CD's were like a technological gift from god for me.
@Troy I have found CDs are a much more stable media than Cassette tapes. Yes CDs don't last forever but compared to cassettes they are less fragile. It doesn't matter as most people don't listen to entire albums as their attention spans are abridged.
@Troy Perhaps your right. I am sure I am not feeling it for filling up my phone using itunes. It such a pain to do that. I work with USB drives all day at work. It's not that I don't know how to use them. I know I am fatigued swiping and clicking through menus. I know CD's are soon to be extinct but I know I like them. Some times a technologically more complex solution is not best however I do see the way things are rolling forward.
@Troy Yes change it tough I agree. Keep in mind I think it is likely i have used USB drives longer and more often then you. I use them all day in my employment and have used them for almost 20 years. I don't like searching through menus in a car. I want my eyes on the road. Yes I use verbal commands every time I drive my new car I find it an advantage using less technology at least when listening to music. I know streaming services are the favored way to listen to music.
@Troy I own dozens of flash drives. Another thing I like using CD's is I don't have to mess with transferring the songs to a USB I just stick in the CD and it plays.
I also laugh at cars with premium sound systems with no CD where most users will stream compressed audio through it. It's like putting budget tyres on a performance car
My friend bought POSSPO Jupiter CD player for his 2024 Equinox. The POSSPO Jupiter CD player needs to be connected to both the AUX port and USB port in the 2024 Equinox. The AUX port is for audio, and the USB port provides power.
If your newer vehicle doesn’t have a CD player or a USB port, check if it has a 3.5mm auxiliary input jack (aux port). If it does, you can use a CD player with an auxiliary input function. To power the CD player, you can use a car charger plugged into the cigarette lighter. For example, the 2024 Chevy Express van lacks both a USB port and a CD player, but the POSSPO Jupiter CD player works well with it because the van has a 3.5mm aux input jack. You just need a car charger to power the CD player. I recommend contacting POSSPO to confirm if the POSSPO Jupiter CD player is compatible with your vehicle. Hope this helps!

screw this I want a tape deck but without a bunch of wires. I found a bluetooth transmitter that works with cars that have Bluetooth. the battery lasts 12+ hours on the bluetooth but AA batteries only go so long with a motor moving a tape deck... I know it seems silly, but CDs you can convert to USB/flash memory easily etc. tapes...are just full on nostalgia for us 80s/90s kids. I really wanna keep my honda "smart" radio but find a way to play tapes without a mess of wires lol
Does the double tape strong in the trunk, cause i need my trunk carpet not to move cause i have 2 a jl audio w7 series subs box and its big and it slides,
