Hello James! I saw a video yesterday about how to clean your trumpet, anyway... Now I want to play it, I'm feeling it like the air I blow its not running throu the trumpet. What should I do!? I'm worried!!! :s (the valves are correctly inserted)
Hey Isaac, Just saw your comment sorry you're having some trouble. So when you blew the water through did you remove the valves? If not, one of them might have just got moved a little bit. Try taking them out and putting them back in. I know you said they are inserted properly but that's the only thing I know of that can make the air not go through the trumpet. Especially if the water was coming in through the lead pipe and out through the bell - if water can pass through so can air. Is it a HUGE difference or something just a little bit off? Did a lot of stuff come out when you blew the water through? That can change the way it feels if you don't usually clean your horn. You can run a wire pipe-cleaning "snake" through the tubes just to make sure nothing is in there (cleaning kits are widely available). @@BwellsTrumpetBasics This Is the first time I clean my trumpet. So, first I did What I saw in a video. I disarmed the whole trumpet and let it a few minutes in a sink with a drop of soap. Then I washed the tuning slides with a feeding bottle brush, (I dont have the snake brush)... I let it dry for an hour, put all together, oiled the valves and felt just the way I told you. Now I tryed what you said about blowing water but it was REALLY hard to make water go out of the bell. Now I'm letting it dry. Please help me James :(
@@isaaccamacho4966 I dont think there is anything to worry about. It's definitely the valves - how long have you been playing? I can teach you how to put them in properly if you have skype or something. They not only need to go in the proper holes they also need to be sligned properly WITHIN the tube (set in a certain way).
