I'm looking forward to this. It seems like a nice, wholesome movie about an old, experienced guy passing down wisdom to the kids and living life as best he can. It's just so happens that the old guy is the class iguana. So long as they nail the execution, this should be fun.
Uh idk if you heard of the Netflix watcher program but you can watch certain movies and shows early and my family did and it was ok you probably don’t believe cause it’s the internet but oh well
yeah it kinda reminds me of uhh back in outback? i forgot what it was called but the animation and style looks similar ima watch it when it comes out im not that excited for it but i'll just watch it. just praying that its gonna be 100% better than.. pets united.. ever since i watched that i have had nightmares about it.. its worse than the queen's corgi storyline.
The animal names makes sense. Haven't seen the trailer so idk, but I remember having a class pet tarantula at one school. We collectively named it on the first day, and then the next year, the tarantula had a different name.
When I first heard this movie, I thought it was another movie about an animal in captivity who want to live in the wild, and then it ends up being a heartfelt story where he helps kids? I’m legit looking forward to this!
It’s interesting how this movie and lizard are going to be in the Macy’s thanksgiving parade this year. It just seems pretty random of a balloon choice.
to the two other comments, the original comment is talking about the short clip of the kindergarteners looking like big- eyed-balloon lookin humanoids. the main kids are definitely older than kindergarten
As someone who knows about reptile keeping, moving a lizard to each child about every week sounds like hell for the lizard, it takes about 2 weeks for a lizard to get used to a enclosure and in that time it’s not good to hold the lizard, it’s honestly kinda sad to see even though it’s a kids movie
I must admit that I am very, very intrigued, both by your review and by the actual trailer. The movie looks like a cross between Ratatouille and Stand and Deliver, so I'll check it out!
I think what happened because that is a clearly young teacher is that when the other teacher retired she might not have thought telling her the name of the class pets was important. So the new teacher let the kids choose their new name
I was only aware of the trailer, it got on my recommended page, where at the time I was watching a bunch of random short animation clips and lessons from Doodley. I had mixed feelings of this movie, I just never wanted to experience an Antman: Quantamania again where it just gives the middle finger. The Summer Blockbusters is a different story, though still piles on the doubts. After watching this, I may set a goal to watch this with my parents, and thank you for reviewing this.
When I first heard about this movie, I thought it was going to be some dumb animal movie like the secret life of pets, and the start of the trailer made me think I was right, but I started to think that it might not be that bad when I watched the whole trailer and now I think it might be one if best animated Netflix movies
I think this movie will be greatly appreciated by aquarists and terrariumists, as Ive seen many small details such as long strings of fish poop and the tongue drinking in the trailer
I disagree about the fish poop joke. There are many, many bathroom humor jokes in media aimed at kids, but that joke is actually funny if you've ever owned a pet fish because that is exactly what it's like. The punchline isn't just "haha, poop" the funny part is that the fish do poop a little ribbon that they tow around behind them and it's a familiar experience when you go to watch the fish swim in the tank but it's like "oh lovely, fish poo ribbon" and it colors the fish tank viewing experience. If you're gonna do poop jokes, that's one I can respect.
the last i heard of this movie was months ago when ppl were shitting on it bc "that lizard doesnt eat those bugs"/"wtf is that supposed to be?" or "UGH a new trend of people buying animals they dont know anything about" then is disappeared till this video
i just watched this movie and i thought it was so wholesome and funny! definitely the type of movie that parents and their kids can enjoy. its not a mindblowing movie, but a heartwarming and fun watch nonetheless
if you're interested in more netflix movies next gen is a surprisingly good one, ended up putting it on out of boredom one day and was surprised by how much i liked it
i mean it's not the monster movie nor the animated jewish poopy monstrosity (beautifully animated) that Sandler wrote. (i just noticed that he isn't part of production crew after the second movie in 2014, but still was the voice of dracula...until the fourth movie)
I’m late, but i watched the movie and I know it’s supposed to be a wholesome movie about a iguana giving kids wisdom, but the kids did do some crimes for example, car theft, animal endangerment, and some other more idk
This movie does look good. But for a Green iguana, Leo is WAY too small. Plus the kindergartens look dreadfully disjointed with those round bug eyed heads. I do like Bill Burr as his tortoise buddy named after the self same water type Kanto starter Pokemon. May as well have a snapping turtle named Wartortle and an Aldabra Tortoise named Blastoise in this case.
