Was going to comment something similar lol. I started in 3rd gen but I can't remember if they removed that from Plesioth by then or if he still had it.
One of the most annoying things monsters do in mhfu is the chip damage. You lose more health from the fricking gentle leg contact than the actual attacks.
For me. It was the vespoids. They target you, slowly approaching you, hit you when you let your guard down, and quickly retreat. If that wasn't enough, even if you killed one in an area, mfers will spawn again in that area. Im currently playing the game and enjoying it so far. Please tell me if there's like a bug repellent for these little bastards?
I still remember my older brother facing this thing back in the day. This quest is just so cursed thanks to Plesioth's hipcheck which caused him to rage quit on the 3rd attempt. Years later, when he decided to come back after replacing the old PS2 with a new one (the old one got stepped on by a younger cousin), he cried when he sees the quest name again, not by nostalgia, but by the haunting memories of the hipchecks.
This is what makes me reconsider if i wanna go oonga boonga with HBG for Plesioth and ditch longsword for now, or gonna go big brain with longsword. As much as i already despise them, i want to carve their materials.
Most players don't remember that? I always bring when hunting Cephadrome and Plesioth. That's why im confused when some players said Cephadrome is annoying. Although I know the pain, I don't bring much when im doing Piscine Liver Quests before.
@@Reymax164 it is something I have seen happen a lot over the years with many different players including with a personal friend. People seem to remember to bring Sonic Bombs with Cephalos and Cephadromes hunts but not with Plesioth. In fact I am certain that every 8/10 people who hate and meme on Plesioth are Blademaster mains who forget to bring Sonic Bombs and/or then regret bringing a melee weapon to fight it. Plesioth is the only monster where I will say just bring a ranged weapons with piercing type shots. You'll save yourself a lot time and stress and your only worry will be accidentally killing it while its in the water in the games which don't have the swimming mechanic
@@Reymax164 I have done it a lot because I am a Bow user. Luckily I have never had a major need for its materials otherwise it would be annoying. When you kill it in the water it makes a splash and sinks into the water then its body slowly floats back up to the surface. If it dies in the water you cannot carve its body
I still have vivid nightmares of it. That thing can hip-check you through the entire old world without being near you. The only thing that's worse than Plesioth, is Green Plesioth.
Gen 3 Plesioth is genuinely one of the fights in the whole game, and it's not because the rest of the roster sucks, instead it's really good. It's just that ples underwater is *that* good.
Still remember back when i finally defeating my first Plesioth using LS, took me hours of grind just to find the perfect armor and health items to fighting this monstrosity. And when finally I'm done, The Green Plesioth came to the town
i grow up with monster hunter and my first series is monster hunter 2 dos but i never play like this, well i seen many people playing games like that their passion is alive to find identity and compete, i like this game with all its contents
Ahhh yes the first monster that gave me PTSD, remembering I met this at low rank thinking, "oooohhhhh a giant fish" i'll slay this with my longsword, after dying 3 times to the broken hipcheck, switched to a ranged weapon immediately 🤣🤣
Ahhhhh yes. Plesioth. With hips so big his side tackle literally 90% of the screen and you cant dodge it xD

Everyone hating Plesioth, but it is one of my favourite monsters. I remember in Ps2 fishing it. And also defeating him with the Eager Clever. Aaah, good memories
You make eager cleaver in First game? The amount of time go farm those materials is pain

@@Zacharie27 I played a lot offline (you could craft it, if I am not mistaken, with offline materials only)

@@Zacharie27 After looking for it: Yes, you could do it. I remember now: Gravios + offline mission, going to the highest part of the vulcan, and then mining there you could farm Earth Crystals
He's really not that bad in mhfu with a decent LS. Just hang near his left leg underneath him and you should be safe from his bite and tail spin. The hipcheck is easy to dodge there too just don't get greedy with your attacks so you have time to roll through. Green plessy on the other hand...
peppo I must say that you never stop surprising me. I didn't think you could do it in 4 minutes when I played at the highest level it took about 15 minutes. without a doubt you are the best longsword player haha, by the way I want to see you play against the black fatalis of fredom unite let's see how long it takes.🙂🙂😈
I'm sorry but I started in 3rd. So LS doesn't have levels before? I'm planning to play this gem, and just want to know how it works from someone who knows.
I don't remember this place at all is this the old desert cave where you can go from the camp by drop down by the well and you can harvest might seed in it?
Plesioth is even more annoyong in First game. Making Sonic bomb is also pain cause it need Gunpowder and screamer sac. Farming Gunpowder is harder than freedom unite. Also using sonic bomb on plesioth is not guranteed to make it jump out of the water and when you used all the sonic bomb its the quest failed for you:"). Also its only hard when you melee but using Bowgun in first game is not worth it
I was praising Peppo for rolling through the first few hipcheck. But then the last one hit him. 😅 Now I realized that old school plesioth is the highest difficulty
@Donquixote most definitely. The g rank monsters in the old games hit really hard. G rank armor simply wasn't enough you just couldn't get hit period. I'm still playing and I just beat that same quest but barely using full yama tsk. Armor and judgement hammer. I had 4 mins left.
