We sold our home last May spent 16 years developing beautiful landscaping, we had a beautiful water view from our backyard in the summer watching sailboats go by just relaxing. It was a decision we had to make, every year the county would raise our property taxes and when you want to retire you do what’s necessary. Our former neighbors that are retired also have put their homes on the market. It is fun starting from scratch a change of scenery is good. It is also nice being around others who share the same values as you do.Thanks For the vids guys

ahhh, yes, those are the exact reasons i was thinking of when you mentioned moving... well, it IS fun to start fresh, and i totally get that.. hubby and i look around all the time too, just because you never know!! we even watch a show called 'escape to the country' so we look at english cottages.. (too far from the grandkids tho).. it's just fun! it was a great week and guess who has a bag of silica gel pellets in the cabinet behind her now!! haha... i'm thinking i might try it on the camelia blooms i have starting right now as a test run... and lemon cypress is on my nursery list the next time i get out.. it was a good week.. and now we have all your christmas-ing to look forward to... hooray!! have a good week, everyone!! :)

The Wisedry does state you can use this method for Orchids ... whom ever asked. It states the ones that not likely to work would be things like tulips, daffodils, irises, and other flowers with high moisture in the petals.

Idaho is beautiful! I lived there from 1975 to 1990 in Salmon Idaho. That is up in the Southeastern side of the panhandle.

Just purchased my first cordless hot glue gun this summer for doing wedding arrangements. It's very liberating! A quick search of Amazon and you will find several.

Teaberries are beautiful and have berries all year, plus they are edible. They're actually pretty delicious.

Just get one of the motion trips for the driveway to put in the root cellar to alert for any movement, super cheap and easy to install

I understand completely wanting better school and opportunities all around. That house you are in now has so much character just so nice every where you have shown. So much time and money and effort. Would it be hard to leave? Outdoor fire place all the lovely porches not to mention the beautiful interior woodwork and finishes.

I live in Boise, just down the road from Far West Nursery; it would be fantastic to have you move closer! Our only downfall is that we are not allowed to have allium in Idaho for agricultural reasons. I love them so much and enjoy the ones you have in your garden. The closest I get is to plant food-grade garlic or onions from local suppliers. I love your channel and family!

My baby sister just moved to Idaho. She is the youngest of 15 children and she has the biggest heart. You would love her and be best friends. Lol. I just thought of this. I know we are strangers but my sisters daughter has been a nanny and she is wonderful. Some times it is difficult to find a great babysitter. The families she has worked for one is the great grand baby of Simplot owner and the other a pro sports figure in NY.

Just a tip on planting a tree in a pot, I seen Bunny Guinness cut the bottom from terra cotta pots to grow trees in. I'm thinking tho be sure it's in it's forever home, I imagine it would be difficult to move over time.

Just a piece of advise if you plan on getting a lamination machine. Had a unheated hand crank one at work and it lasted for several years. The heated laminators ALWAYS burned out and would never last.

The farina on succulents will never “heal” itself or grow back. They’ll eventually grow new leaves that do have the powdery coating, but the smudge spots on the old leaves will be there until the leaves fall off.

So silly but im the 222nd like, lol. I love this channel. I grew up w my grandmother in central NJ and she had everything in our acre property. Your videos bring back so many memories its not funny! Especially in summer when the snowdrops, and daffodils start popping up. And everything she planted. I have lived in zone 11-hell in the middle of the Florida Keys. So totally different growing conditions than NJ. But I try! I've even grown Day lillies and really pretty Sentimental Roses, to grow and bloom🥰 before hurricane Irma destroyed everything here in Big Pine Key, FL Keys. The hot glue gun Laura is showing is out of stock, however it is one of those products that is sold under different brands names and I found one under the “Full Size Hot Glue Gun Cordless 80W 12V Rechargeable” title for $54. Ryobi sells one for about $32 that uses their interchangeable 18volt line of batteries that fit like 200 tools. However for that price it does not include a battery, but if you have Ryobi One 18v tools than that would be a great choice!

Google which of those berries to find which are eatable. Those purple ones which look fake are supposed to be really good. 😊I think I would want to taste test first but those are so different I would try growing them.

So, I know it's not normal to ask a question on the Highlights video, but I have a question based on a video from a few weeks ago - the video on planting bulbs in pots. I planted my bulbs in a bunch of black plastic pots, with the plan of dropping them into nicer pots in the spring. I even planted these late for my zone. But after two or three weeks and a number of unseasonably warm weather days for November, I discovered this morning that some of my bulbs have sprouted! Gaaaahhhhh! Is this a disaster? Did I do something wrong? Could I have done something different?
