Can't believe I watched a whole 25 minute video about just sponsors. I don't even like business and I only used blender back in high school but I rlly only signed in to say that this video was so good that even someone like I can enjoy and understand this. You had a kinda confidence while laying the line down that I feel like you don't even need a random like me to say this but I feel like typing it out anyways. It's an eye opener to for what it's like on the creator end of sponsors as I didn't know the little bumps in the road you go through but I find it so cool that you've made your own system. Hope it works out for real cuz I think sponsors should've been so iffy in the first place but I also believe in things like the people having powers. This is your channel own channel and without you nothing would happen here and I think something like this is rlly more than fair. I fw u stranger lol happy trails

Excellent initiative! I love that you want to help other people and notably individuals/small businesses in some kind of symbiotic relationship. Everyone benefits, including the viewers, who can then learn about cool projects or services instead of the same big brands.
This system sounds great. If only youtube had this built into the channel. Maybe you or someone else can make this into a platform for creators to manage sponsorships... you know... spread it out to make a real impact. I also want to say that I love the linus tech tips super fast sponsors. They can fit 2 if them in one video without it being distracting. I love this idea and if I would ever need it I would definitely consider paying for a sponsorship. 🚀

So nice of you, to be honnest of you, have a good way of thinking about it (imo, might be annoying for others), and have different tiers depending of the scale of the sponsor. And with that mindset, sponsor segment might not be skiped and be more appropriate in the video (i am thinking of raid shadow legend or vpn stuff in videos that have nothing to do with gaming or IT). And then 2 questions : - are you planning to post the more talkative videos in a form of podcast (on Spotify for exemple) ? - talking about sponsorship or showing other's work, are you planing to do videos about what your community have made for free (free gumroad product etc) ? (If no for the questions don't worry, in both case that is extra work for you, so I would understand)
I really appreciate this video for another reason; it's the same as "this is my price, and that's final." No negotiation (within reasonable means though), no wishy-washy, just confidence and firmness. Not everyone has to agree to this method, and that's absolutely fine, they don't have to, but creators shouldn't be expected to bend over backwards for sponsors/affiliates either. I hope this inspires more creators to be more confident and strong to their own values. In the end, this only makes creators more valuable🚀🚀🚀

Hi Curtis - Sounds like you have come up with a very thoughtful approach! I'm still a few steps behind being ready to seek sponsorship/affiliate partnerships - I have been learning blender python (#1 bc it is fun!! but #2 bc I love to solve problems and create things that delight others. And alas #3 the dream of generating meaningful revenue remains as well, I wish I didn't have that constraint). My first practice add-on is well on its way but I have already been stymied by a bug I just can't figure out. Argh!! I've spent hours on it. I'm sure it must be something dumb I've done. I don't think it is a python issue - Perhaps it has to do with some mistake I've made using handlers in blender? The online documentation in blender's manual about handlers is so brief. Is there a thorough guide for programmers somewhere that you recommend? (would you have any availability to look at a bug maybe my error would be obvious to you? I've tried posting on stackexchange but haven't gotten any help there, not sure where to turn next). Thanks for considering. Someday a collab? that would be great! 🚀🙏💪

🚀 I absolutely agree with everything you said in this video! I was having a conversation with my fiance about the state of RU-vid corporate sponsorship with a huge chunk of creators here and how they seem to suck the life and passion out of them to an overt degree. And that's before even considering all of the jarring ads that keep popping up. What you are proposing/doing is a breath of fresh air, and I indeed hope that this will become a trend amongst not only the Blender or 3D software communities, but all RU-vid communities. I just hope that this won't cause any backlash from RU-vid itself. I doubt that I will have anything appropriate for you to sponsor, though I'd be interested if I ever get some of my side projects actually started up (motion comics, virtual table-top multi-genre map-maker, short CG films, etc.). I'm just a lowly professional storyteller who runs tabletop games that are sometimes supplemented with my work with Blender. Your work has helped inspire me, as well as your community spotlights that have introduced me to other creators like yourself who have furthered that inspiration into actual productive results. Thank you for your tireless efforts and wonderful work. :)
How many times can someone repeat a sponsorship as I could see a company flooding the waiting list so someone else will be stuck in a double sponsorship. 🚀

Thanks, I'm glad you find it interesting. The immediate response has been interesting. I knew I'd annoy some product creators. A couple have removed me out of spite (none of significance to the channel so far), but I have also gained a couple more at higher rates. I have one strong casual sponsor proposal and a few speculative so far.
