To me, the question is not whether or not it happened. The question is if a complete random on the internet posted enough verifiable information to make the rumor worth hanging on to. They did not.
So Brian said the entire post was gossip except for the investment portion, but just recently he announced the double-jointed TMNT, which was part of the leak. Do you feel it was just a coincidence or is this making your eyebrows raise a smidge? Genuine question. Also when you spoke of the poster's previous leaks involving TMNT shying away from the vintage designs, your counterpoint was by showing the redesigned Rat King, The original design was pulled due to unhappy fans and Super7 changed it, which goes along with the poster's reply that they had talks with Viacom for permission to make it lean closer to vintage. If that wasn't the case, then why wasn't the new, more vintage-friendly, design done first? These last two waves are relying on Rocker Leo and Rapper Mike (maybe Ninja April?) as the closest thing to vintage designs for figures. Could be another coincidence that there's a lack non-variant characters in their true vintage form in these waves. Time will definitely tell on that. I agree on taking anything anything you read on the internet with a grain of salt; there are "leaks" posted all the time that are just rubbish. However, I don't immediately dismiss this one as fast as yourself and others seem to have. There's enough going on that makes it....probable? Again, time may tell.
I guess ppl, in a way, just wanna know what's going on behind the curtains. Lots of information regarding what's happening inside a company is unknown or not easily accessed by the public. When met with such a post, there's a suspension of disbelief that it could probably be pure bullshit or untrustworthy. Just the feeling of knowing something they weren't meant to know, or knowing more about the stuff they like, kinda pause their better judgement. I guess that's the same appeal that ppl got with leaks, why they're a thing. It's like a forbidden fruit syndrome, exactly cuz it weren't meant to be public, it's appealing. Or the latter, it's something they already like, so knowing more about it is better. Or, it could be cuz it appeals to their position or predictions, thus them believing it wholeheartedly. Either way, I feel like channels like yours and Mike's, as well as interviews with ppl who work or involved in the company is needed, in order to pressed down such a post's popularity. You probably could do your own research, yes, but not many would wanna put in such effort nor knowing where to start. Of course, this also doesn't mean that companies should be overly transparent about their processes and decisions. Just a bit of a tease to tickle the brain to finish the puzzle themself. Just enough to satisfied our curiosity.
I think this person just really wanted to make waves. They knew some people on both sides (those that love and those that hate) Super 7 would eat it up and have big ReAction(s) to it. Not sure if it was for clout or just for their own amusement.
