I’ve got 3 jig rods I use depending on the cover I’m fishing in Florida. 7’5” Trika 6X MHF, Falcon Cara 6-174 heavy cover jig rod is phenomenal and my 7’2” MHF Shimano Expride A with a Diawa Zillion I will put up against anything on the market besides NRX. I’ve beaten the snot out of that rod and it’s still ticking
I gotta pick up an Xtasy at some point to compare it with the best from Daiwa, Loomis, and Megabass. I think it’s only a matter of going to their storefront one day and picking up all the models
Action wise, I'd put the Xtasy as most similar to a Loomis MBR. Heavier than the NRX+ or Conquest, but better balanced in the longer lengths and heavier actions, most of the extra weight is in the handle. Still extremely light. I don't have any comparable Megabass rods, but the Orochi Brailist is fairly similar to the 754 or 755 in power and action, feels lighter overall in the hand but more tip heavy than the Dobyn's.
I got away from Dobyns YEARS ago, lesson learned. SENSITIVITY & lightweight, NRX+ is where it’s at. I eventually saved so much money by not having to upgrade & of course lifetime warranty. I almost tried a Phoenix K2 7’6H. I did try the new Steez, sold it within a year.
