NOTE: This interview was conducted before the SAG-AFTRA strike began.
After 20 years and seven seasons, The Venture Brothers is wrapping things up with The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart, a movie that ends the story of Rusty, Dean, Hank, Monarch, Dr. Girlfriend and the rest....at least for now. We talk with the creators of Venture Bros, Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick about the journey and how they got here.
The Venture Bros.: Radiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heart will be available on Digital on 7/21 and Blu-ray on 7/25, and eventually to Max.

If Futurama keeps coming back every 10 years I'm hopeful one day there will be more Venture Brothers. Venture Brothers has been one of my favorite shows since the beginning. Radiant is the blood of the baboon heart was enjoyable and fun then I got hit in the feels after the last after credit scene.

@@jjechavarria7692 I mean from cancelation. Venture Brothers seasons took years to come out but it wasn't cancelled. Futurama has been cancelled and brought back at least twice. I'm hopeful one day we'll get at least a holiday special or another extended episode somewhere down the line.

I hope so. I honestly think it only phased out because their biggest fans are like 30+ & don't have much of an online presence. Even the last season was super funny. All good things do come to an end tho. I can't see Hank specifically being grown or having a family. Brock really never stopped protecting the family even when he did step away he'd pop in and help a lot.

This show has been around for me since I was like 12 and now I’m finishing college. I used to stay up late and get yelled at by my parents for watching it but now I well, stayed up late and watched the movie. It’s bittersweet. Go team Venture!

This show was just made for me. Jonny Quest-style adventure group, SHIELD-like security service, super villains, parodies of the Six Million Dollar Man, DC & Marvel heroes, Victorian pulp adventurers, 1930s pulp heroes, mid-Century Modern and Space Age architecture and design motifs, Hunter S Thompson and Andy Warhol riffs, references to Sorayama.....just everything that a Gen X comic/pulp/sci-fi fan could love.

Venture bros were hank and dean, mother Mantilla gave her eggs to be birthed by Thaddeus. Malcom was cloned from Thaddeus after Jonas wanted to smooth over the blackmail with Blue Morpho.

Between the great characters & their stories (both individual and combined), the mountains of references & Easter eggs, and the tight continuity enabling callbacks & payoffs seasons later, the Venture Bros. remains one of my all-time favorite & most rewatchable shows; many thanks to Doc, Jackson, & all the other amazingly talented people behind the mics and behind the scenes who helped take us on the ride of a lifetime!

Wow so much love for these dudes and this show for 20 years! I grew up watching this show from 13 years old all the way to today and I have so much to thank these creators and this show for. Not only does the quality and nurture of the show make you want be be the best artist yourself, but their dedication and etiquette makes you want to be the best person you can be. So much respect for these creative masterminds. Followed this from the beginning, such a part of my life, got the same kind of thank you but sad feelings going on, but really weird to see that voice come out of Doc Hammer's face, so many scenes throughout this series that have stayed with me, thank you, also, after 20 years of writing, such an amazingly constructed plot, wish there was more coming . Brock Samson is a legend. One of the greatest characters ever conceived. Also he was read by one of the best voice actors on the planet. Great show. Truly classic animation that will be watched and re-watched forever.

I wish there was more, but I accept that all good things have an ending, and I am very glad that Venture Bros have a resolution and a conclusion. There is not a single show quite like this one. It layed foundation for it's late events since the beginning, and it's ending gave additional meaning to it's name even.

I think that adult swim sees the support. I think after this movie we will at least get one more movie if not one more season🙏 I’m probably wrong but, the movie didn’t feel like the end it felt like the beginning of something else! Just watched Baboon Heart. Wonderful film. Woulda liked more action, but the pay offs and call backs and references were spectacular, and honestly some of the heartfelt stuff and lessons spoken really spoke to me and has a psuedo commentary on how to learn some lessons from our childhood heroes without while not allowing our love for them to become obsession. So sad to see it go, it was an amazing ride, thank you so much for the funniest, nerdiest, smartest, best written shows in the entirety of Adult Swim and has left a treasured mark in the history of animation. Go Team Venture.

I will miss the show and its fantastic cast. I know they couldn't squeeze in the Peril Partnership vs the Guild storyline and what happened to Phage and Action Man in coma town or how Scare Bear was involved with Hank, so I hope the movie makes way for a revival down the line. Loved the movie and its a great send off to the show

Jackson and Doc had so much to say, and this was becoming one of my favorite interviews, and then she's like "ok i gotta stop you we're out of time." And this sums up The Venture Bros. perfectly. True brilliance and wisdom presented in a timeless way, through comedy.....cut short by people that just don't understand. Shame on Comics Beat for rubbing salt on this wound, and also shame for not letting them continue on the train of thought these two were on.....CB denied us of potential gold.

@@ComicsBeatYT So anything even related to scripted content is caught? Another layer is that having halfsies is still incomprehensible. At the end of the day it's a free country though and they signed the contract with adult swim to do this.
