As always thanks Doc! Got a question; my compression spring disappeared on the backrest, does Harley have a part number for that dang spring? I've searched and can't find it. Thank you for your time Sir!
Is that a tallboy seat or a stock seat? If its a tallboy seat what kind of backrest is it. I've bought one of Amazon but it wouldn't fit because the seat is lower then the stock one
Use full synthetic if you ride during the winter since synthetic flows like water even to -30F. If you live in a very hot climate synthetic also takes heat much better. Everyone is better off with synthetic especially since it stays on metal parts longer than conventional once the engine is turned off.
When putting that bracket on, there it's no wrong or right hole? I've installed one on my 14 FLHTCU, and put the bracket in the first hole, because it was the most comfortable for me. However, appeared to put a lot of stress on the seam, so I moved to second hole instead. Will the seam tear on my stock seat, if I moved back to first hole, since the seat and backrest are designed for creature comfort?
Doc, not trying to take over your AWESOME video, but the seat on my girlfriend's XL is a DISGRACE. I replaced it with a SADDLEMAN, and as a Engine Builder and Biker for over 45 years, SADDLEMAN IS OVER THE TOP IN QUALITY, and yes it has a optional back rest. She went from AGONIZING shoulder and back pain, to LET'S KEEP GOING, with just a seat change. THANK YOU SADDLEMAN, MADE IN AMERICA, AWESOME DOESN'T COME CLOSE TO DESCRIBING THE QUALITY OF YOUR SEATS!!!
Hey Doc, I have a 05 road king that I am adding a trunk to with lights, where can I tap into the wiring harness to gain power for running lights n blinkers??
Behind the battery in front of the rear fender is the connector for turn signals and brake lights. I suggest purchasing one 70933-10 Y Harness, one 73106-96BK Pin Housing, and however many terminals you need (likely part number 73191-96).
I have a 16 SGS as well that I put a keryakan backrest on and it has an angle bar on the pad you insert it that can go either way and the bracket has alot of adjustment you can set back farther so on and so forth. Check them out . I love mine .
