Every year, Wayne Henderson, with the Christmas spirit in him, invites people from all over the country to his home in Rugby, Virginia where he has a Christmas Party filled with music, jamming, food, laughs, and good company. At the 2007 Christmas Party, many special guests came for the occasion, including Doc Watson and Jeff Little. These two individuals play Old, Old House together for the large crowd in Wayne Hendersons living room.
This was shot as part of the Appalshop documentary film, From Wood to Singing Guitar, about Wayne Henderson (the master musician and master luthier from the small town of Rugby, Virginia near the foot of Mount Rogers, which is the highest point in Virginia). I first heard this song on a IIIrd Tyme out CD and thought then that this was the perfect C&W / Bluegrass song. I never get tired of this song, no matter who sings it.

According to a link which youtube doesn't let me post, the song was cowritten by George Jones and Hal Bynum. Of course, it's possible that George got credit for it for another reason. Just google old, old house.

George did not write it. A person by the name of Bynam did, I believe. Can't remember the first name. Awesome song tho!!!
