Why does Docker exist? What is Docker? How does it work? What is a container? What is an image?
In this video I answer all these questions and give you a no-coding intro to Docker. To recap, below are some of terms used in the video:
🔵 Docker: project that aims to isolate coding environments so that your application can be shipped to any production environment without running into the issues of application not working on different environments.
🔵 Image: a collection of application dependencies that the application need to run.
🔵 Container: a running application instance and it is built by Docker from the Docker image.
🔵 Docker runs inside a Linux virtual machine and uses it to do namespacing to isolate the hardware resources and allocate segments of those resources to different containers.
