Docking a Hatteras 42 CPMY with John and John Jr. After helping John bring his new boat home from Stuart, Fl we accomplished several days of training with him, his wife and his son. With twin Detroit Diesels and no bow thruster you better know how and when to manipulate the bow. Since you don’t have the truster as a fail safe your first approach must be thought out and hopefully successful. Considering wind and tide and communicating with your mate as to what line needs to be secured first is crucial to your success. These two have a come along way working with each other.
