The one thing that I have observed in Dr.Mike when he invites guests on his videos he clearly gives them a lot of respect and allows them to express themselves freely and open up. He also seems very friendly with all of them even. The kind of host I really appreciate.
@@PortCapital May be. But I still appreciate that and would love to be like that. There are a a lot of people who talk but a very few who listen. We need more listeners. 😀
Manny getting competitive, asking Mike to elaborate parts of the question, and then yelling "IT DEPENDS, MIKE" is the most relatable thing, I love Manny. 😂
You had so much fun, you're yelling. J/K. I'm very impressed with your "medical" knowledge about make-up, skincare, tools, etc. You truly are a professional.
@@kuywasaamazikeen8048 If you are saying that my father is not real, then shame on you. If you’re saying that dr. Spencer Reid is not real, then I agree with you.
@@geostyma what do you mean, Troll? My father actually has a shirt saying that. Plus, I didn’t even think that my comment would get likes, let alone replies. Now, please my dear, keep the comments that aren’t proven to yourself, because what is denied without proof can be accused without proof.
I love how Dr. Mike clearly adapts socially to whoever is guest starring. Like personal space, acceptable teasing in jokes, people who respond fine to a hand on the shoulder that kind of thing. I love how the guests are so comfortable
"Some lipsticks contain lead and you do not want to eat them." *Safiya looks away in the distance* Fingernail polish question. *Cristine also sipping tea while looking away*
Mike and Manny looked like they were separated at birth, one grew up in an emergency room, and the other grew up in a glam room. I can see the resemblance but Manny is the baby one. Had fun watching you two! Both are so pretty to look at.
8:42 I actually purchased some lipstick off Wish and my family joked that it was probably full of lead, so I took one of the lead testing kits we had (we had several on hand for when we were renting and house hunting while I was pregnant), and the cheap Wish lipstick (niceface:brand, I still buy it) didn't even have lead in it, but all my covergirl lipsticks had a range of lead in it. It's a bit startling.
This is not what I expected to find in this video but I'm fascinated. Now I want to do a full deep dive into if certain colors or brands or styles have more or less in them!
At first i thought this probably wasn't going to be interesting to me as a male that doesn't use makeup but it was actually really informative and entertaining!
I mean, what if you just got a new mascara and didn’t close the lid enough when you put the brush lid on and it was a dry environment, there are limited situation where it would be not a bad solution?
@@MissMeganBeckett I guess that would be better, although the product is still exposed to outside bacteria even if it wasn't in use, just an opening to have a look case. But it's a better scenario than regular, long time use with more exposure to bacteria and drying it out that way, for sure
Any closer and Manny would be sitting on Dr. Mike's lap 😂 I can sense a low-key crush that Manny has on the good doctor, and honestly, it's kinda cute 💕 Yes, I know Dr. Mike is straight and Manny is just fun like this with most guests on his channel. I have watched both of their channels forever and love both of them. They obviously have a good rapport and are very comfortable around each other. This is just meant to be some good-natured ribbing, and is intended to be taken with a pinch of salt! 😉✌️♥️
For the oily-dry skin question. Oil does not equal hydration. You CAN have oily skin and dehydrated skin at the same time, on the same area. Dry and dehydrated are not the same thing with skin and scalp. I’m so glad he got that correct!
to be honest if i was the one recording i would mostly be focused on bear just a whole video of what bear is doing with dr.mike in the back ground talking😂
Dr. Mike is extremely busy and usually doesn't answer individual questions.. As a volunteer at a mental health center, I guarantee your own doctor will advice you for counseling or mental health professional if it's affecting your life. There are also many support groups that may fit into the type of coping you need. You can almost look up coping techniques for your situation.
Years back, I believe he said he personally always sits down with the patient/patient's loved ones and just tells them without trying to sugar coat anything. I think he asked them if they wanted it "straight up" or gently discussed beforehand. He sat with the patient/patient's loved ones so they could ask questions, or if he was suddenly called, made sure there was someone there if they wanted something/for visual support, sort of thing. This is just from my memory, so take this with a grain of salt and I'd say look through his past videos to find the information (i.e. go on his channel page and do a specific search about delivering bad news). I don't know how stretched for time you are when working shift or your position, so keep that in mind for your plan :)
I’ve seen so many (and I mean I’ve been on RU-vid since like 2005 lol) collab videos and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one that you can see a genuine connection professionally and personally as clear as this one! Props to such a fun video with such as amazing outcome/cause
The answer to Dr. Mike's funny question at 04:25 regarding the "commercial on tv with the guy with the melons" from France is Paris-based cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh. Cindy Crawford's skin care line Meaningful Beauty was developed in coordination with Dr Sebagh. The ads/commercials showcase melon extract as their exotic specialty ingredient so that consumers think they are getting something unique that no other company has. The melon extract is a nice antioxidant, but it's obviously not the secret of one doctor somewhere in France.
My face always felt oily, both to the touch and the overall feeling of my face, I had to wash my face my 3 times a day, especially after a meal because it felt disgusting and sticky... After I just started putting moisturizing facial cream after a shower, it pretty much fixed itself and I only give it a quick wash before bed now (and apply cream). So weird how our bodies work...
Thanks to dermatologists I realized that skin push out more oil to make up for the lack of oil and water in the body to moisturize the skin. That’s why you need to moisturize properly and stay hydrated then skin will be less oily
same! i also had that problem in my hair and started doing a hair mask with coconut oil, honey, and olive oil and my hair can go almost a week without a wash after that
I live in France, in a region where we produce a lot of melons and I've never heard of the so called advantages of using melons on your skin - I would say this is a lot of BS because I've seen a lot of melon products (jam, candies etc) but never skincare. The advantage of melon is the pleasure of eating a good and ripe melon, period 😂
@@jamiel264 Yes. Dr. Sebagh is the guy in the infomercials for her cream, Meaningful Beauty. There's no such thing as a magic melon and it's a shame that they're ripping people off.
Yay for $5000, way to go Manny! Should be more since Dr Mike tricked him on a few lmao. If Laura was there she would absolutely be agreeing on how competitive Manny is. 😂❤️ We love our queen.
Love your videos Dr. Mike! As a veterinarian, I love learning about the similarities and differences between our professions, and our day-to-day lives. It’s a shame I don’t live in NY anymore! 😉
13-year-old Bangladeshi here. You're one of my favorite personalities! Even though I don't plan to be a doctor, I love to play doctor and bust health myths, inspired by you! Hey, I need proof against many more myths like "drinking cold water or being out in the sun causes you to catch a cold." Please talk about them in more videos. It'll help me out a lot cause you're a licensed practitioner.
Excellent debunking video - FACTS ONLY!! Protecting your skin with sunscreen, getting rid of old makeup that collects bacteria, moisturising the skin whatever your skin type to maintain a healthy skin barrier. Great collab!! 🔥😊👌
Applying a liquid foundation with your clean fingers and then tapping it in with a beauty blender helps give a better finish that looks less caked throughout the day.
Thanks guys! Just washed my foundation brush and thru out a mascara that was probably too old to be using! 50+ female ... Never hurts to be reminded that the little things matter
I think Manny got all of these right. Love you dr. Mike but Manny had very good points and backed them up. It’s not his fault your statements were very unclear. 😌
I LOVE how similar your looks are and how you are far apart in actions, great example of orientation not being visible. (Bi and people all the time are like “oh u don’t look bi” “uh wtf does bi “look” like?”) anyway my fav colab this year so far! Thank you both you both beautiful souls!
Hey, Doctor Mike, I've been waiting to ask this question for a while. So I want to be an anesthesiologist and it's been a dream of mine for quite some time. I know you're not an anesthesiologist, but I was hoping you could give me some tips on surviving med school and residency 😂. Thanks in advance :)
About armpit sweat (just saw your collab with Manny)--I saw a video you did some time ago about the difference between antiperspirant deodorant and ones with alcohol in them. I've used antiperspirant most my life because the non-antiperspirant doesn't work. I get sweaty pretty easily and am the smelly-type...yay! Anyway, about a month ago, I started experimenting with using hand sanitizer. I mean, you can use it on your hands, right? I know different places on your body can be affected differently, so I kept an eye out, making sure I wasn't getting dry skin or a rash or something, but so far, it works great. I don't even have to put it on every day, but I have a little travel sized one at work that I ended up using the other day when it got hot in the building and I started sweating. I hadn't put any on after my shower that morning--wanted to see how the day went--and since I could tell I would need it, I ducked into the bathroom real quick, dabbed some on and felt refreshed and smelled fine the whole day. It even made me feel less sweaty, but maybe that was just because I was comfortable knowing I wouldn't be smelly, so I could mentally handle being a little sweaty... So, I recommend giving it a try! Oh, and if you haven't already, maybe shave your pits to help slather the hand sanitizer on there a bit better. It might not do much for the sake of sweating, but maybe you'll feel less icky about being sweaty?
Whether or not you can restore mascara after it starts to dry up you really shouldn't because you're putting something around your eyes that may have bacteria in it and you don't want to mess with your eyes. I just spent all day today at two different ERs just to have my eyes examined because something was wrong and the eye examination was extremely invasive and somewhat painful even with numbing drops and I thought that I had a detached retina but thank God I didn't but your eyesight is extremely important and you don't want to take risks with it
I don't even use foundation, just good quality BB Cream and still, my skin looks sooo much better after I take a break and don't wear any make-up for like a week, so there's no way whatsoever I will ever believe that "make-up is not bad for your skin"...
In my opinion I think that makeup actually ages your skin. I also think it tends to get caught in your pores and it's really difficult to get most of it off. I used to wear makeup but not the way people wear makeup nowadays with all these layers. I have extremely sensitive skin so I stopped wearing it a long time ago. And I think that my skin likes me better because of it
Sunscreen is a must, to keep an healthy and youngfull skin. Make up, not so much. I agree with you 😊. However, I believe it could add a layer of protection, as long as you maintan a good hygiene and use products your skin "like". I also don't like all those layers on a face. It doesn't look natural and it aged people unnecessary. In other words that's a lot of time and money spend to achieve good results, sure but less is more.
Wait what, I always thought a bezoar was a stone taken from the stomach of a goat which will save you from most poisons and now you’re telling me it’s an actual thing?!
I love them together, but is @MannyMUA sitting uncomfortably close?! Haha Is that just me…?! I respect a close talker-Lol I am. BUT… he’s real, real close.
I thought the same. They're obviously just friends so it's kinda weird how close he's sitting by Dr Mike. I personally hate when ANYONE sits that close to me, so hopefully Dr Mike wasn't uncomfortable.
I love how Mike is trying not to be outwardly uncomfortable with Manny being all up on his business. lol he's only *slightly* leaning away the entire time.
The melon skincare commercials with Cindy Crawford! Man I remember those and being amazed as a kid. "Well, if she still looks that good, it must work!" Deeply buried memory there
