Must mention in an early Super Villain Team Up there is a page inside that has Dr. Doom sitting on a throne which takes up the entire page. Absolutely stunning.
I know all about Doom and the key’s. I have been collecting since 1974. I have had and have grails Gold and silver but you bring a fresh perspective to the way you represent the info. It’s clear and accurate. Loved this piece even I learned from it. Keep up the good work.
Well done, I agree 100% what you said about Dr. Doom. However... that CGC 9.6 did not sell for $575,000, that's just the "Go Collect" estimate on current value. That 9.6 sold for $135,000, I'm sure it's worth much more now, a CGC 9.4 sold in April for $138,000.
I sent my Marvel superheroes to CGC came back a 6.5 but I'm happy with that. Also have Astonishing Tales 1( raw), IMO an underappreciated run. Have the secret wars book too. One of my favorite Dr. Doom covers is FF 116. Love this series, please Keep it up!
@@Swagglehaus its one those major keys under the radar and only hard-core collectors at the moment are realizing its importance. When the public catches wind, collectors won't be able to get it cheap like it is now. A nice copy should go 10- 20 and I bet you can even find lower grades in some dollar bins. Super cheap spec with major upside.
Great channel you got here. Been watching for a while and finally subscribed. Like your presentation and reasonableness. Great content and hope you keep it up!!!
I love these picks! I actually just got done reading this secret wars event and it wasn’t my favorite but I enjoyed it still. Actually just made a video about one of the tie ins for this which is Secret Wars: Civil War which I absolutely loved!
Swagg!!! Hows it going buddy love your videos 📹something you should watch is Stan Lee's Mutants, Monster's & Marvel's with Kevin Smith its basically a interview and history of stand lee and in that interview Mr Stand Lee says him self that DR DOOM is his favorite character. 👍
cant wait to see Doom in the MCU. To your question about any other iconic villain being that popular, I have to think the Joker is the most popular across all comics, but I think Doom, Green Goblin, and Magneto are all neck and neck for number 2. jmo
Great vid. MSH#20 wins for me because it's very undervalued and tough to find in high grade. Avengers #25, DD#37, Luke Cage #9, FF#39&40, Astonishing Tales#1-4(WallyWood art) #6&7(Black Panther) are also great grabs right now
I just picked up Doctor Doom #20 for only $10 ! Man I was SO stoked to find this book. I love Doom I’m cleaning it up and going to press it then send to CGC for a press and slab 🤙🏼
I'd really like FF 5, but that ship has sorta sailed at this point. I've got FF Ann 2, Astonishing Tales 1 & Secret Wars 2 out of your list. The earliest Doc Doom app I have is Spidey 5, which looks like it came out a month prior to FF Annual 2 in Oct '63. Nice little pick with the Secret Wars 2. If the movies draw from this storyline, those books will immediately be removed from dollar bins everywhere.
"Marvel's Flagship Villain" -- that's a heavy-duty title, but i think you may be right. For comics, it's Dr. Doom. For the past decade of MCU, it's Thanos.
Yeah I agree with you...I mean I could be wrong about that, but when I really think about it feels like Dr. Doom is number one...maybe Magneto is more famous?
I can't wait to see him in the MCU. He will be the next big bad and your right and I have a feeling that the next MCU phases will lead into Secret Wars. To me he is the master of all Marvel villains.
Love the character spotlights man! If you ever get around to it could you do a Moon Knight video? Been really wanting to get into that character here lately
DOOM is the best comic villain period. Joker has more fanfare and mainstream popularity due to successful interpretations on film, but in the comic world, if you're considering accomplishments and pure awesomeness, then DOOM RULES ALL. All that's needed for DOOM to reach his inevitable top tier status among the masses is for Disney not to F up his character like Fox did, and with what Disney has been doing recently I'm not too confident that they'll give him his due respect, but that takes nothing away from what matters - his comic lore.
I’m surprised you didn’t include FF 278-its his origin story including how he gets disfigured and that issue also contains several controversial panels that include racial slurs.........and it’s a $2 book.
@@Swagglehaus I’m on a grail run to get all the FF pre 2000 with doom on the cover--I grabbed that book without knowing too, looked it up on key collector and was shocked.
Stop saying HOLY!! You guys get way over excited about basic paper !! HOLY IS RESERVED FOR THE HOLY FATHER GOD HIS SON AND HIS HOLYGHOST AND ANGELS AND HIS BOOK!!
