I am currently going through stage 4 epithelial Ovarian Cancer. I am currently in treatment for that cancer as Kate is. She and her family deserve their privacy.! It’s absolutely devastating to go through this. My heart and prayers are with princess Kate and her beautiful family! It sounds like she has had the same medical protocol as I did. Once I had my abdominal surgery, I entered into treatment pretty quick. I’m thankful to still be alive because I have been fighting this beast for almost 6 years with short remission times. We need to get the cancer research awareness out there.! I am stable, but chronic. There is no cure for Ovarian Cancer. Most of us find out too late because the symptoms are so hard to pinpoint. I suffered a lot of swelling on my stomach.. my mother forced me to go to the emergency room, and they diagnosed a possible Ovarian Cancer. Then I was scheduled for abdominal surgery, and that is when pathologist were able to diagnose and stage the Ovarian Cancer. They do suspect cancer after a CT scan. But they don’t officially announce this dreadful disease until a pathologist is able to examine removed tissue.. it’s such a rough life. I cannot even imagine having to take care of three children and face the brutality of the media. Please respect her cancer journey so she can take that energy and fight this cancer beast. Princess Kate will need all the strength that she can muster to fight for her life! This is definitely a life-changing, devastating disease. I’m sending so many prayers right now. Please join me in doing so. 🙏

As a doctor, please leave the family alone. This is a private health matter, and she needs to cope and recover without incident and appropriate, timely medical care. Please respect all patients' diagnoses and dignity to enable the patient's personal strength to recover safely.

Catherine did not disclose the type of cancer that was diagnosed or the stage but everyone is speculating and offering their sympathies. Meanwhile William was not present which you would think he would be if his wife is terminally ill?

I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when I was 38. I had a complete hysterectomy and by the grace of God, I'm still cancer free nearly 30 years later. I pray that Princess Catherine beats this cancer. She has the support of her family, her country, and so nany others. I need to apologize to you all. As I read this over I realized I made an error. It should read 20 years later .......not thirty. I apologize for the typo.
Just speculating here, from experience I do think she has ovarian cancer. I also think they knew it was cancer when they gave her abdominal surgery, I don't buy the official version of the story.
When I was diagnosed, I asked the doctor “What is the biggest factor in survival”? He said “If you really want to live, you will”. I had stage three colon cancer and was 55 years old. I decided “I am too young to go”🙏! After surgery and chemo, I am still here. I turn 80 this year. I am praying for Charles and Catherine.
This is actually a horrible thing to say. So many people stay absolutely positive, but cancer still takes them. Mindset is utterly important but unfortunately not everything. Kate is one amazing woman and very strong. But her biggest luck will be that the cancer was found very early
I know you mean well but no. I’ve worked in acute care as a certified wound, ostomy, continence nurse and as a hospice nurse. Unfortunately many cancer patients die because their cancer takes over and kills their body. Your take that wanting to live separates the living from the dead is awful and similar views prevent terminally ill people from accepting their condition, subjecting themselves and their families to useless, painful treatment.

My take away. I'm an RN, CRNA, female, daughter, stepmother and previous abortion provider with my husband. Every person is vulnerable to anything. We see that every day in hospitals, docs, nurses in every venue of hc. I want for her. To be her best patient. She will know. Everyone else, leave this human being the space, peace, privacy to fight, heal. Any of us who have had cancer, have it, know someone who has knows you need that. A lot. In 1997,I was diagnosed with uterine cancer at the age of 37. I had a total hysterectomy been in remission for over 25 years. I am keeping Kate in my prayers, and I hope that she will be cured. My mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and she died at the age of 42. She diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Unfortunately, she did not survive because she was at a stage four. If Kate’s cancer is in very early stage, she has a good chance of surviving cancer . I will keep her in my prayers.
I had a total hysterectomy at the age of 33 but not because of cancer. I was having erratic menstrual cycles and they were very heavy. I literally was bleeding to death. All my veins collapsed and I couldn’t breathe very well…I thought I was dying. Went to my doc and he yelled stat into an intercom thing and all these people came running, and I was admitted to the hospital for a blood transfusion. A month later, I had the hysterectomy. I recovered very quickly because I my doctor promised he wouldn’t cut me open. They can remove organs following the same path as a baby being born, lol. Saved me a lot of pain and healing was pretty quick.

As a clinical geneticist I think you should consider genetic testing (in many countries it is paid for by insurance or public health services in this situation). A disease causing gene mutation could have an impact on your future medical care and if you have children also on theirs. All the best for you.
Chemo is pretty destructive, I looked ashy too. She could have covered it with makeup but why should she waste energy that can be channelled to healing and carrying on as normally as you possibly can.
I am an American and I was so touched by the message from Catherine, Princess of Wales and her selflessness and empathy to all who now face or have faced cancer made me weep as I have faced two types of cancer in my lifetime. I have always respected and admired the Princess of Wales and I can say that I love her as one would a friend. I pray with all my being that she is healed.

After undergoing major abdominal surgery (appendectomy), it took me six weeks before I was strong enough to begin my stage-4 cancer treatment journey. I began with chemotherapy, then radiation therapy, followed by immunotherapy. I was still recovering from major surgery six to eight months later while continuing to undergo cancer treatment for up to two years. I eventually entered into remission; however, I was not declared "cured" until I crossed over the five-year mark AFTER completing all cancer treatment. Follow-up with my Oncologist is for a lifetime.

Not at all. She chose a life of public exposure, and unfortunately that comes with lots of attention - whether good or bad. Please remember that she's also very very rich, and is paid by the tax payer. That comes with some responsibility. Meantime, while I feel terrible for all those diagnosed with cancer (unless you've been there you can't know how truly awful it is), the Palace handled this very very badly. Had they been honest at the outset - in the same way the King was - none of this would have happened. I realise there are children to consider, but if you have a family in that world, you accept that your kids are going to be exposed to things that normal kids won't be exposed to. Also, kids are very resilient. Most are told more or less straight away when a parent has cancer, and it's said they actually benefit from that early information. It gives them time to process how it all works before hair starts falling out etc. I'm not sure I agree with keeping it from children for so many months, but that was their choice. I suspect the speculation will probably have hurt those children more than the truth would have. People have been saying all sorts of crazy stuff - like domestic violence, that their mother was dead, etc etc.
I think that she was forced to reveal something that's private and should be revealed when she was ready. I'm so disappointed that the public hounded her as she has a family and children to protect. Shame on all the reporters and public that hounded her.

Treated for colon cancer in 1996. Abdominal incision to remove about 16 inches of colon. Month and a half after surgery started Chemo (5 days a week, one week a month for 6 months), midway during the Chemo I got Radiation (5 days a week for 6 consecutive weeks). I started back to work at the time Chemo started, did not miss any time. Lost some hair but the character of my hair got thinner. Resumed my sports car racing hobby less than 6 months after surgery. All that was 28 years ago.

I have a cousin who is in her 70's now and had a cancer diagnosis in her early 40's and had the treatment of Chemotherapy and radiation treatment and she is well and alive. So people should be just understanding and mind their own business and give Princess Catherine the space and privacy that Catherine and her Family need.

The reason why we’re all so fond of Princess Kate is that she’s consistently done her job to perfection and always done what needs doing with dignity and grace. Always, from day one. When I watched the video Catherine released revealing her situation, I was struck by her grace and class in the face of what must be bucket loads of stress coming from everywhere. When I read the comments here, I am struck by the number of people without any class whatsoever, nor grace, nor empathy. No, because she is a public figure does not “entitle” people to know everything about her or to comment and speculate and then to judge. She is foremost a person who has been through a significant health ordeal. She is a mother concerned for her children. She is a wife concerned for her husband and she is a daughter and sister. She is prioritising herself and her family - rightly so - and doing this with such class. I wish her the best hoping she comes through with a clean bill of health.

36 years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Some exceptional doctors, the will to live, my optimism and the family that was close to me helped me reach almost 77 years old. I wish Kate to get over what happened to her with optimism and love of life. The family wants to have her close, especially the children. ❤❤❤

That's the only "abdominal surgery" for a woman that requires several days of hospitalation and a recovery period of 6-8 weeks. I had a partial hysterectomy myself at 24 years old, so, I know. Maybe now that the public knows what's going on they'll finally back off and give them the time and privacy they need. It's difficult for any person to go through something like this, but being a public figure, not to mention, one of the most important figures on the planet, that makes it even more difficult dealing with all that. I'm pretty sure she had tumors. They removed them (planned surgery) and later in the lab they found through biopsy that they're cancerous. That's usually how it goes.

Both my parents passed away from cancer. This is going to be a very hard for her and her kids. I was my mother's caregiver for ovarian cancer and I fought with her. She went through many different Chemotherapy types and sessions. She was a beauty queen, but she turned into a ghost at the end. Kate will start going to get adverse effects, like losing hair, pain, and many others. Please leave Kate alone. This is very tough for her.

Well said, it was ridiculous to speculate that the major operation she underwent was purely “exploratory.” That does not happen. She obviously was suffering from another condition and the cancer was discovered post op.
That poor woman. I had cervix cancer when I was 32 and my son was just 10. I was lucky my surgery got it all and I didn’t have to do chemo. But it was the hardest thing to do to tell my son I had cancer and needed surgery. My son’s father was not in the picture and I had elderly parents. But princess Kate has her husband and other family plus the millions around the world wishing for her. She is a very strong woman and if she keeps that strength and faith, she will prevail. God bless her and god look after her little ones. I’m not British, I’m American. But I’m a cancer survivor now for over 33 years so I hope this happens for her too.

@shauncampbell4371 Everyone is entitled to some privacy. She shared that she had medical issues, which should have been enough. You do need to grow up.
She is going through a very difficult time . Please don’t make it more difficult for her by sensationalizing her condition for financial gain. Leave her and respect her privacy. The best thing we can do for her is to pray for her and those who are afflicted with this illness for their speedy recovery.
What a very sad world we live in - a young mum with cancer has to tell the very inquisitive world her very private personal life details. Leave her alone!!!
