Wish DC would put the same level of love into their films like Marvel does.

Definitely disagree with the point about the ancient one being able to be played by anyone! I don't think just anyone could have pulled off ageless wisdom and serenity while still remaining with a tinge of youthfullness!

I liked how Dr Strange defeated Dormamu. It really showcased how much he'd changed as a person throughout the entire film.

I enjoyed it. The effects in this movie were insane. People like to compare it to inception. This movie blows inception out of the water and then gives it a spanking. Marvel did it again.

Fun fact, Cumberbatch actually did the mo cap and voice of Dormammu as well. He was his own villain :)

It's amazing to me that Marvel is able to make such good movies with such strange characters, and DC can't even seem to get Superman right. You'd think he'd be an easy character to make a good movie of, but man are they struggling. It makes me think that they really don't understand their own comics the way Marvel does. Marvel knows what makes an enjoyable superhero movie, DC is still trying to figure that out.

Joe once again not having any restraint in the spoiler spillage. I hope everyone knows by now that when Joe says "there will be no spoilers" there's going to be a fuck ton of spoilers anyway. He seems to have no idea what a spoiler is. For example the villain talk was completely a spoiler. Makes me appreciate reviewers like Jeremy Jahns so much more, who can actually do a concise review without spoiling anything.

Will there be an Extended Cut? Oh wait, that's only for DC never mind.

I am a huge DC fan... and I think Dr. Strange was amazing. This is the Marvel films I want to see. In my opinion, ever since Thor 2 and save for Guardians and Cap 2, their films have been getting weaker and weaker, treading water and being unwilling to be different and daring. This film is a breath of fresh air and truly is amazing. I just hope we get a better villain for Dr. Strange 2.

I liked the villain guy, he wasn't some bat shit crazy guy, his acting was good, had a clear motive behind it and played his role very well. Yes, I would have liked the ending to be a little of more action packed, didnt expect the way it ended but still movie as a whole was great.

i like how there is 2 end credit scene, 80% of the people in the cinema left when end credits appear, after the first end credit scene, only 7 people stay behind to the end, lucky to be one of them

It's a fun enough movie but the plot is honestly very basic. Arrogant man laid low, the whole mystics-are-smarter-than-academics horseshit Hollywood crams into everything it ever makes, finds mentor, struggles to learn because arrogance, has revelation, becomes the Special, refuses call, mentor dies, reluctantly accepts call, wastes fools. You have seen this plot ten thousand times. I think people are being wowed by the special effects, but in time this one won't hold up as well as others. (To be honest, that probably applies to pretty much every MCU film.)

I think I want to see Hacksaw Ridge over this, this weekend.

Joe, you should give your compadres a bit more space to express themselves.

For me, I'm annoyed that they keep screwing up these villains because they're supposed to be SUPER villains. A lot of these villains have been jokes with the exception of Rowan, Yellow Jacket, and Winter Soldier. I feel like if they're going to norminalize the villains by making them more human, then they need to do that with the super heroes too. The super heroes are great representations of the comics but the villains oftenly get tossed in the trash. Like does anybody want an action figure of Baron Zemo? Because I doubt they would since he is just a guy. Same thing with Mandarin. And then when they create super villains, if it isn't Loki, they never use them again. Abomination, The Leader, and Red Skull are all supposedly still alive and it's frustrating because they never use them. Phase 1 is still the best phase of the MCU. I haven't seen Dr.Strange yet but I am disappont if Dormammu isn't a badass skull head.

My favorite part was where Doctor Strange held Dormammu in a time loop. And the special effects looked really cool. Watching all these movies makes me wish DC had better movies.

When I became aware of Doctor Strange (the Marvel hero), through the advertisement of this film, I realized that I might have "wasted" my time with the X-Men and Spiderman when I was a youth. Doctor Strange is the kind of superhero I like. He is - to a certain extend - a self-made hero, like Ironman. No mutation or being of an alien bloodline, not being the subject of an ill-advised experiment or having inborn supernatural powers. He becomes a superhero by learning and his intellect is sort of his weapon. A mere human being capable of surpassing any power threshold. When you watch Wolverine you sort of know what he is capable of doing and that's it. But when you watch Doctor Strange you never know where it might end, what he might do you never thought he was capable of doing.

I know I mentioned it in the Spoiler video, but could it be possible for you to review Hacksaw Ridge, I seriously do not want this movie to go unnoticed in between the hype waves of Dr. Strange and Rogue One, and I really feel that it could be considered one of Mel Gibson's finest works

An explanation as to how a white person got to Nepal would be easy. It was mentioned that she was celtic. So that implies that she came from an ancient period. She must have traveled to nepal to find "healing" too. And she ultimately became the current S.Supreme.

Crazy to think that Scott Derrickson went from directing the awful Poltergeist remake to directing an awesome film like this! Hope to see Scott involved with the production of Doctor Strange 2! Awesome work man!

I am starting to feel like they are just shoving jokes into these movies just because it's the 'Marvel' thing to do. I liked Dr. Strange but this movie suffered a lot, imo. The visuals were amazing and I really enjoyed the acting but the pacing fet rushed, the villains were lackluster and the jokes were not placed well. some of the jokes were trying too hard to be funny and they just took me out of the experience. shout out to Scott Adkins for being in this movie and having his signature kick too!

I wish they would have let mads mikkelson act, his character was just there to have some cool fights, he's not the worst marvel villain but he's definitely not the best.

Eye of Agamotto, his magical necklace, is a bit different in the comics as it is usually used as a thing which reveals the true nature of things. It doesn't control time, but this difference is a result of the MCU binding everything together for a huge event, where certain stones play a big part... and in MCU, Eye of Agamotto is one of these stones. They also heavily downplayed the magic in the movie, making it more about energy manipulation rather than something flowing from mystical gods like it's in the comics. I was a bit saddened that there weren't any Ruby Rings of Raggadorr, Flames of Faltine, Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth, Crimson Bands of Cyttorak stuff going on, but at least they referenced The Living Tribunal!! He may possibly play a part in the Infinity War movies... :)

Honestly one of the best representations of magic in film. Usually you get it attached to Tolkien or explained off by science and that is a piss off. I was so happy it was just magic. The performance was great and having a scene mid credits and after credits was so mean.

8/10 there's some annoying forced jokes but overall it's amazing

The only actor that could have possibly given a performance as good or even better as Doctor Strange would have been Hug Laurie (House). Just imagine it, he already looks the part XD

9/10 stop comparing the other films to this film. 85% of people don't even read comics, or know who Dr Strange is. it was awesome.

I completely disagree that anyone couldve played as The ancient one. Tilda Swinton has an alíen like personality and physicality that gave her an other worldly quality to her performance. She nails her action scene's as well.

Which Infinity Stone does this one introduce? Time or Soul?

I loved this movie saw it in IMAX 3D and my brother was on LSD while he watched it lol

8/10 love how they made Dr.Strange's character here develop which really shinned when he was down and injured to training. What hit me the most is the broken glass watch where the glass is broken, but the watch still works, kinda like a metaphor for Dr.Strange himself. He maybe injured, but he's still alive and still of use to the world.

Here's what I think about the Dormammu appearance. He's in the Dark dimension, where he is nigh omnipotent. His appearance is blended within the realm, as he is basically directly connected to it, BUT, once he ends up in earth realm, or other realms, he must take on his typical "Fireball" form.

Texting and driving led him to become a sorcerer. Sign me up. Disclaimer: This is a joke.

Comic fan, and just wanted to say, yes, Baron Mordo is a villain. In the comics, he was the original villain, Strange didn't believe in magic and stormed off when the Ancient One offered to teach him, but he overheard Mordo plotting with Dormmamu (his shadowy and mysterious master) to murder the Ancient One. Then Mordo finds Strange and afraid of killing him at the monastery, casts a spell to prevent him from speaking or writing of what he learned. Thus Strange believes in magic and goes back, to learn how to protect the Ancient One. Here is sounds like reverse order, and I'm real excited to see the movie and find out!

Personally I've liked almost every villain in the MCU. And that's exactly the problem. I find them all very likable, interesting and threatening to various degrees, but with rare exceptions such as Loki they are all done away with and shuffled away by the end of each movie. So yeah, they do come off as pretty weak story-wise just because they're all one-and-done, and that's really disappointing. Ultron being the pinnacle of this I'd say, as I really liked his presentation and James Spader's performance. Only villains I'd say I didn't care for were Killian from Iron Man 3, and to lesser extents Darren from Ant-Man and the Dark Elves from Thor 2. But back to Dr. Strange, I really loved the creative visuals in the fight scenes for the movie. There were great visuals all throughout, but I felt they really shined in the battles. Those with the Ancient One in particular, they did a fantastic job demonstrating her sheer proficiency with manipulating the Mirror Dimension.

I never understood why they had to make him American. They're comfortable enough with retconning everything else in the MCU. They should have just kept him English and retconned the character to be an English doctor.

Full-on magic is what I was expecting, but tying it to power drawn from the multiverse seemed to be trying to fit magic into quantum physics, like in Thor where Bifrost was an Einstein-Rosen Bridge.

I have not watched this move yet but my brother-in-law had and interesting insight. He has not seen this movie either but more an overarching notion. He said he dislikes movies where magic (witches, warlocks, sorcerers, etc.) are the main character. His issue is magic users are a sort of Deus Ex Machina. They are not restricted in any meaningful way. They can always conjure up whatever they need to solve the situation. In short, they have no meaningful limits which makes them overpowered.

i expected to be more like thriller and more dramatic instead it was just another action movie. But if this was a DC movie. it has super weak villain(and the big bad 0 explanation what hes so menecing) and some of the suport cast has 0 impact, less developed charakters then main charakters. Story bit similar/taken from manga X(protective mirror world and seals/ destroying of world rebirth etc pretty similar). Verry good movie tho but idk i guess i expected more magic and less kung fu. 8/10

My theory is because he was imprisoned in the Dark Dimension still. Dormammu is not able to assume his iconic physical form just yet. That being said, I imagine that he MAY gain it in the sequel

I was told Baron Mordo's motive for turning 'villain' was his disillusionment after learning The Ancient One's use of dark magic. i've heard it said that he viewed this as hypocrisy. But, I haven't seen it yet [can't wait to] so I don't really know. Great Segment, 'AngryJoeShow' cast & crew. Mahalo!

Stopped watching when he said Dr. Strange is a "ridiculous, stupid, and retro" concept. You can literally say that about any comic book.

*Here's my idea for the plot of the upcoming Black Panther movie, feedback is welcome: Panther, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and an improved Bucky fight together on a mission to save Wakanda from T'Challa's brother Hunter a.k.a. the White Wolf.* *Villain Bio:* Hunter was T'Chaka's first son, adopted after his parents died in a plane crash over Africa, and grew up to lead Wakanda's secret police called the Hatut Zeraze. When T'Challa was born however, Hunter never felt as appreciated, especially after his little brother earned the mantle of Black Panther. The final straw was when T'Challa ascended to the thrown after their father's death in *Civil War* and later decreed that the Hatut Zeraze be disbanded due to their brutality. Hunter, unable to forgive his brother for taking away all he had left in his years of police work, vowed to someday usurp the throne. *Story:* Hunter uses T'Challa's failure to protect their father and vengeful crusade against Bucky to make the Wakandan people doubt whether he's fit to be King. T'Challa's uncle S'Yan supports Hunter, the two of them covertly reviving the Hatut Zeraze to organize a coup and seize all their country's vibranium to trade with foreign governments for power and profit. When an assassination attempt (covered up as an "Inhuman attack") leaves the King gravely wounded with no choice but to flee, he has no one to turn to but his U.S. allies. With Tony leading the other Avengers in tracking the elusive Steve and Sam's whereabouts under Ross' orders elsewhere, T'Challa reluctantly trusts Natasha who is on temporary probation.
