Zombie Strange looks like Defender Strange but with battle damage. Which is probably why we see him watching his hand in disbelief as he’s transforming. This would probably happen closer to the beginning of the movie and Strange is probably having dreams of the other Strange’s from the different universes, but waking up at the moment of the alternate universe Strange’s deaths. Which is probably what sends him to Wanda to further investigate why he’s having these dreams, if they’re real, and why he’s seeing them. Sounds like the perfect movie for Nightmare tbh lol

Dont think its a patch, its just ripped. if you look closely the colour of blue is the same colour as his blue robes, so im pretty sure its just damaged in those shots and will prob be fixed to the proper colour

the cloak is ripped in one shot in the trailer. It's hard to see unless you're looking for it, like I was. You see the rip when he's looking at his statue, in the same spot as the patch. Rintrah is capable of mending his cloak, as apprentice to the person who made the cloak.

It is interesting though that they didn’t use the same color fabric. Not a nitpick, just saying the color choice seems to have story significance in itself

Good spot. The different material will be explained away in the story but will be designed to help the audience recognise him when on screen with other DS variants. It was definitely ripped in What If by Strange Supreme. But that’s not this variant of the cloak

I kinda wish strange supreme was in this. The one we thought was strange supreme is actually Sinister Strange. The subtitles confirmed it when he was talking in the trailer. And than zombie strange and defender strange are the same person. Maybe they are keeping strange supreme under wraps haha

@@Lillian.Gao. there are many actually. Strange Supreme is much more powerful. Strange Supreme has a cloak, his hair and beard are different, his eyes are different color. He is a totally different variant. Sinister Strange is another variant who is evil and maybe has the Darkhold as well, and our Strange will fight him and kill him.

in the comics, Dr. Strange took his cloak of levitation to Rintrah to be fixed, so the blue patch maybe a nod that Rintrah had to do some repairs on it.

Blue patch Strange is simple: He is not only a variant, the core of this movie doesn't take place in the regular MCU. This starts from the perspective of a different universe.

I think that strange n Wanda scene is going to be similar to the Thor scene when loki is imprisoned and uses magic to hide his true appearance which was sadness and depression when Frigga died...and stranges attire in the scene is Wanda hex altering magic

You can also see that the hand holding the railing coming down the stairs has no scars. Could indicate that Sinister Strange/Evil Strange never crashed his car injuring them pointing to another clue towards What If Strange.

The Cloak of lavation was damaged during infinity war when Strange told the cloak "Do not let Thanos close his hands with the Gauntlet. Thanos pulls the Cloak off you can hear it tear alittle

I think the blue patch is some sort of a shield or transportation device that allows him to travel between the layers of the multiverse…either from Professor X or America Chavez. Garden Strange, I think, is a different Strange - look at the jawline of his beard…

I think exploring the Celestials is going to lead to them having to include Knull at some point. I mean he’s such a cool character it would be like throwing away money at that point. And we’d got soooo many variations of symbiotes then. They could just go nuts with symbiotes. Donny Cates’ run was so well sold too that a ton of people probably have some vague knowledge of the character.

I really believe that the blue patch is Marvel's version of Inception's spinning top totem. It is what lets Strange know when he is outside his own reality, or even when he is inside his mind.

Sinister strange could be part of He Who Remains' TVA. He Who Remains' TVA had four statutes and those wouldn't be Kang's variant as they don't exactly see eye to eye, and the settings of Sinister Strange's place is similar to He Who Remains' office. So, this movie could be showing TVA vs Illuminati's clash of ideas: the former wants to make a sacred timeline where there will be no variants of Kang and the latter wants to retain each multiverse's timeline intact may that be with or without a Kang variant. 🤔

There’s a story where the cloak was destroyed & Loki who was sorcerer supreme tried stitching it back together so it had those patches on it but lost some of its power. There were also two cloaks; one red and one blue. With the merging of these variants and universes it could be possible the cloak was also affected. This could be a variant of our dr stranges original cloak

The cloak is torn fighting Gargantos, there is a shot in the trailer showing the tear. They will make as many costume changes as possible to sell more toys. Also, I think our Strange has the blue patch and Blue Strange could be the Evil Strange before he goes evil. Zombie Strange doesn't have a gotee either...

I mean we see 2 Dr. Strange with no beard in the trailer, the Statue Strange and Zombie Strange, and yes the Defender has the same outfit as Zombie, but with a beard.(so unless the zombie thing makes your goatee fall off then idk) And another thing is what if they've changed the name from Illuminati to "Defenders of the Multiverse" and that's why the toy is called Defender Strange as he's one of the chair guys, but missing or dead? And the "alive" scenes we see of him is like a backstory flashbacks.

Zombie Strange does not have a goatee. Defender Strange has a goatee. Therefore Defender Strange is not Zombie Strange. Utopia Strange does not have a goatee though.

What if it's not really a bunch of Strange variants so much as the same variant at different points of his timeline? This could hilariously make MoM a christmas movie, a sort of ultra-extended version of A Chirstmas Carol (instead of the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he's got all these variants to deal with and learn lessons from.)

I think the blue patch is the only thing that tells us the difference between the main MCU Dr Strange and a variant. And the Dr Strange in blue being handcuffed, if you look close to his hands they do not have scars like the main MCU Strange; he looks more like the Strange that woke up from a dream in bed with his iPad, etc. Not sure what universe he is in but it is different.
