Doctor Who 13x2 REACTION!! "War of the Sontarans" 

The thing I like about the portrayal of the Sontarans here is because it combines elements from each version: the design and more serious threat they brought in the Classic (not to mention a time travel based thing as well) , the Sontar-Ha chant introduced in the RTD Era, and comedic aspects that Moffat had for Strax

Strange as this series is, this is the most Doctor Who, Doctor Who has been for a few years now. I'm quite enjoying it.

Sontar-Ho!!! Don’t know why, but I loved that expression SO MUCH when they executed their own.

Interesting fact for you. The character called Williamson who's building the tunnels under Liverpool was actually a real person. Williamson was a philanthropist, landowner and tobacco merchant. No one still to this day knows why he had the tunnels built, some believe it was just a desire to create work for the poor. Over the years the tunnels were filled in, but after some investigations in the mid 1990's volunteers have excavated lots of chambers and tunnel networks across several sites, with some sections open to the public with guided tours available at the Williamson Tunnels Heritage Centre. I just hope they're prepared for an influx of Doctor Who fans paying them a visit.

This has honestly been the best streak of episodes since Capaldi left.

Sarah Jane Adventures reactions would be the best thing ever, the show really feels like Tennant and Eccelston's Doctor Who. Especially the later seasons tackle some more mature themes as the kids grow up - homelessness, alienation, etc.

One of my favorite moments of dialogue was the argument she has with Dan. Yet one of those brief lines she calls Dan “a good lad”. Lol showing her age there.

My friend made the quip that the Sontarans aren’t sleeping, it just that like young ladies in a night club they all have to visit the rest room at the same time.

Flux is so far just proving exactly what I thought Chibnall should have done from the start. Chibnall did Broadchurch, which was incredible, so I've always thought that, to help put a new spin onto Doctor Who, that all of Jodie's seasons should have been full season arcs instead of the monster of the week stuff that occasionally tied into a continuos plot line. Maybe if he did that, Jodie would have actual had a fair shot as the Doctor. But at least this looks like she'll finally get to take advantage of a good script (Although I do retain the opinion that both of her specials with the Daleks were actually really good and enjoyable, and I personally enjoyed the Timeless Child story).

Before you record the reaction for chapter 3 next week, I suggest you all try and see if you can recreate 'the Dan run', with a Wok in one hand and a cell phone in the other as this was one of the most humourous things I've seen in Doctor Who and so hope it becomes something people emulate on RU-vid.

Having re-rewatched the episode (via the reaction) I think this might be my favourite 13th Doctor episode. Fugitive of the Judoon is close, but the Sontarans + Swarm etc. push War over the top for me. I've been a pretty big critic of Chibnall over the past couple seasons, but it seems like he's actually playing to his strengths as a writer with a serialized narrative like Flux.

I'm glad they have returned to the classic designs for the Sontarons and even more classic Personalities. I've really disliked the super comedic (also it's not that Sontarons can't be comedic, for gods sake they have potatoes for heads! There just has to be a balance) version we have had in Nuwho, especially Starx (Nothing against his actor Dan Starkey who has done an amazing job with the scripts he was given especially in this episode) with the only Nywho version I've enjoyed before this episode being the one that appeared in the Sarah Jane Adventures. Fun fact, the Time Warriors (The clip from the 3rd doctor Ep you showed) wasn't just the first appearance of the Sontarons but also the first Appearance on Sarah Jane. Although I seem to be in the few that mostly enjoyed last series and even enjoyed Series 11 (to an extent) I'm adoring this series. I wish this is the direction Chris Chibnall had taken his entire run in this very serialised story as that has been two fantastic episodes (in my eyes). Also Kravanista (big adorable dog go) isn't Scottish (Unfortunately) but a Liverpool actor. Also I'm loving Swarm and Azure, easily my favourite original villians in a long time in Modern Who (definitely since before the silence) and I can't wait to see what they will do In other words come on Chapter 3!

The 3 minutes eclipse was the lupari dog people shield. Dan said it must have been them. 3 minutes because the flux after 3 minutes had moved on. It's lots of clouds across the universe. There is one scene in episode 1 showing it move like a cloud. It doesn't spread outwards getting bigger

He had wanted to produce an adaptation of the Snow Queen during his lifetime, and CG animation, though different from hand drawn, is beautiful and unique in its own ways.

Doctor 10.5 was “part human” but still also time lord. It was like a sideways regeneration. He still has a time lord mind but he ages instead of regenerating. Donna, because she was human with bits of time lords mind, couldn’t biologically handle it, hence her memory wipe. But the second version of the tenth doctor, had bits of physical human but still a time lord mind. He and rose could come back but I kinda doubt they will do it. As far as the flux being anti time, I think we are going back to the start of the time lords and this trio could be anti timelords. In some time lord mythology, there were three founders of time lord society, rassilon, omega, and “the other”. If chibnall uses that classic who mythology, there could have been three dark versions leading anti timelords.
