This video takes you on a tour of the famous DOCTOR WHO Exhibition in BLACKPOOL, which re-opened at a new site in 2004. It was filmed on high quality digital video back in August 2004, and is presented here for the first time in a brand new fabulous 2021 edit!
It contains flashing lights and infra-red 'night-vision' filming and an awesome new soundtrack sourced from the RU-vid audio library.
On the tour you will see original models, props and costumes from the classic Doctor Who BBC TV series (1963-89), including:
- The Doctor's TARDIS (original filming model and replica console room)
- The Fourth - Seventh Doctor's costumes
- The Third Doctor's yellow roadster - 'Bessie'
- Original Cybermen costumes and 'Spare Parts'
- The Emperor and Special Weapons Daleks from 'Remembrance of the Daleks'
- Monsters! Sea Devils, Mandrels, Vervoids, The Kandyman and many more!
- Rare vintage and contemporary merchandise displays
The original Blackpool Doctor Who exhibition ran from 1974 to 1985 with the displays being updated after each series. The 'regenerated' exhibition opened in January 2004 on the Central Promenade, next door to Sea Life.
Please note the exhibition closed in November 2009, so it is not possible to visit anymore. This video is the only way to experience it in the highest possible quality!

Sadly no, I remember going past it once but I was at a young age and had no idea about Doctor Who. Wish I was still able to go but at least your video give a great description of what it was like.

I used to love going to that exhibition every time I went to Blackpool! So sad, to see it closed and most of the props being sold off to places...

Always went when I was a child, even got to see David Tennant switch the lights on! So sad that they shut it down

I remember visiting this exhibition and what got to me was the fact it was built under the Sealife Centre. There was a mark on the miniature dinosaur casing with a note saying a leaking water tank in the Sealife Centre flooded the DW exhibition. I simply don't get why such a risk was taken to place a much valued exhibit with items dating back to the 1960s was placed under a huge water tank. A magnificent exhibit it was too. Have you footage from the Doctor Who Experience in London?

I didn't see that. I wonder if they got any compensation from Sea Life for the damage caused? 🤔 No, I never got to go to the DW Experience in London. The closest I got was attending a conference at Olympia next door!

God I remember going with my dad when I was a little girl in the 2000's just in LOVE with Nu Who and being so confused that I didn't see anything in there that I recognised aha!

I’ve been non stop watching these on the old exhibitions, they have a nice gloomy dark touch with so many colours yet so dark and scary, everything seems so alive and unique, a true shame it wasn’t a thing when I was born however I went to the exhibition in Coventry which had a lively colourful dark touch,amazing times, from all the videos of this exhibition I created it in minecraft too

Yes, you're probably right. The new series with Chris and Billie was in production but was still some way off being broadcast, hence the lack of public interest in Doctor Who at that point.
