The one thing I will always love about this episode is the ending; the words “and they both lived happily ever after”, but then the “ever after” dissolves, because it wasn’t ever after, only 24 years. And then the “and they both lived” dissolves, because they didn’t both live. But the one word, “happily” remains, because they were happy, and that’s what counts.

You know that time a comedian who had their own TV show was cast as a one off character in a Christmas special, who later returned as a full time companion who ended up being awesome. Yeah, that could never happen twice.

When he points Rivers new screwdriver at her head and activates it he is linking the neural relay inside it to her brain. Amazing attention to detail from the library 2 parter

I found 'The Husbands of River Song' to be one of the most underrated Xmas specials. It was a charming story about two people who love each other yet aren't sure if the other loves them back, the moment when she recognises the Doctor and the ending on Darillium are both my favourite scenes, and it proved to be a fitting farewell for River.

That "Hello Sweetie" is--well, there are no words for how good that is. The delivery, the emotion, the look in Capaldi's eyes as he says it.

The Library wasn't the last story in River's timeline. The River in The Name of the Doctor was the digital River from the Library and it's sort of implied that she "died" at the end of it, after the Doctor "let her go."

"Not everything can be avoided, not forever." The Doctor not repeating the mistakes from Heaven Sent and Hell Bent. He might have forgotten Clara, but he hasn't forgotten the adventures he had with her and what he learned. I glad he didn't get a full reset like Donna but got to keep his character development.

The "I'm going to need a bigger flowchart" line from the doctor is so underrated. Even he acknowledges that his relationship with River is hard to keep track of.

It amuses me that they hired the hilarious and 6'8" Greg Davies to play the imposing first "husband" and never have a scene with him standing up.

For River, it's before the library but after The Angels Take Manhattan where she's just become a professor. The stuff about the doorstep and the suit Aaron mentioned was said in the library.

I like that River is waiting for the doctor to have some elaborate plan to save her but all he did was make sure that they could live with eachother in one place for 24 years. Usually they only pass eachother by but this is when they both knew eachother the most and they got to stop and spend some time alone.

How can a scene be so wholesome and badass from “hello sweetie” to River knowing about the meteor strike and saying “I’m an archeologist from the future… I dug you up😈 see you in 400 years” like damn such a good episode and a good duo

From River's POV, this episode takes place after The Angels Take Manhattan where Amy and Rory die, and right before Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead where River dies.
