Doctor Who Autograph Collection 2020 

It's a pity to me (an old-timer!) that the whole business of Autographs has become so very commercialised. I couldn't justify the prices the modern series stars charge, and due to the rise of the internet, and influences of the American convention circuit, stars are now generally very commercially minded, freebies are almost unheard of. It's a hobby at the end of the day, both Autograph hunting and Doctor Who. Getting an autograph of a star shouldn't be so expensive, and indeed completely out of reach for the young ones. But even after 2005 I still found the original series' cast were generally still very affordable compared to new series, it's a different generation with different values, and a lot of the original series cast were and are very down to earth people. They are often very flattered to still be so appreciated and genuinely loved, despite the show being decades past in their careers. And they are often very humble with it - one of my strongest memories of this is meeting the great Peter Miles as he mingled with guests at a small event around 2013, I said some words, asked him if he would kindly sign a photo, and he was so flattered and without ego he refused to accept a charge - I ended up having to _force_ a Fiver into his hand by way of a very sincere thank-you for both his time, and his decency(!) I reflect back and realise I was very lucky to be a fan through the 90s, in a way it was a golden-era for a fan as you could get to conventions, travel to signings, and it wouldn't near finish you for the year financially to finally get face to face with the stars and producers of the series....
