Classic Who leans more towards the story/adventure, while Revived Who leans more towards the characters.

The newest animation of Shada adds some great bits. The Doctor reading from the book in particular absolutely slays me, and it has one particularly amazing joke further into the episode when Skagra 'breaks' the code.

I'm surprised there hasn't been anything continuing that particularly chilling moment of body snatching horror in the mainline Doctor Who media. The Movie wasn't nearly as effective in this area in my opinion, and I haven't had a chance to listen to the audio dramas to form an opinion on those occasions.
