May 2020 is Doctor Who month on this channel! I promised you a trilogy and after the previous weeks' Doctor Who Theme and Majestic Tale (Of A Madman In A Box), this is the long awaited finale: The Long Song!
For this special project, I teamed up with Doctor Who: LOCKDOWN producer Emily Cook. Together we invited Doctor Who fans worldwide to sing in our online choir and become a part of a massive fan cover of Murray Gold's The Long Song, the soundtrack from the Series 7 episode Rings of Akhaten. 300+ fans joined in and their isolated voices from all around the world came together in harmony!
Featured on lead vocals is the amazing Jana Marie Gropp! You've already heard her before as the soprano at the end of my Shepherd's Boy cover.
Also, after our The Shepherd's Boy and Doomsday collaborations, the brilliant Sarah Bergé returns once more as the solo violinist for The Long Song!

This is hope, a reaching across instead of punching down or turning away. And I, we, the world desperately need to know that humanity exists so we can draw strength for another day in turmoil and uncertainty. @@josephwilson282 That's sad and interesting. I had no idea, and I'd say nearly all other 'New Who' fans not used to the original run and strangers to the books don't either. I think I'd be sad about what's chronicled in that article there if I was part of the original brand. As it is, all I feel is RTD made the best, Moffat a fair but less inspired second, and without them we are lost except for the occasional bright spot. A more accurate interpretation seems to be that before the 'Davies-Moffat Canon Hijack,' Dr. Who simply came in different flavors depending on author. Quite in keeping with the spirit of the be Doctor himself IMO.

I've listened to this song on multiple occasions, I can honestly say after an especially tough weekend this song finally did it, it broke me, it forced me to shed tears and blub out like a sobbing sod because that is how much it affected myself personally, tears of anger, tears of frustration. At the same time while listening to this absolutely wonderful cover there were tears of joy, not just because this is undoubtedly the best cover you have ever produced, this is also because this is the entire Doctor Who community speaking out, we have our voice, and in these especially hard times we are using it! I don’t remember the names, but that Dalek was controlled and voiced by two of our brilliant choir members who are credited among the 300+ names in the credits. ☺️
