After Donna Noble says "No" to come along with The Doctor, Paula says "Yes" to Katrina for more Doctor Who!
This time, we meet another Doctor, Martha Jones. When a woman of science finds herself in an unexplainable situation (the moon to be exact) The Doctor is there to save them all.
But who will save Katrina from all the questions?

This is the episode where the writers deliberately made David Tennant say "It's a Judoon platoon on the moon", simply because he found it hard to say the double-o sound in his English accent and they thought that that would be funny. :)

The fact that a character named Mr Stoker was killed by someone drinking his blood didn't click with me until waaaay after this episode. Bram Stoker created Dracula 🧛‍♂️

I like it when you pause to explain something to Paula. I've watched reactors play the episode while they're going on about something, and they miss something important. I think it's best to stop if you have to explain something to someone.

David Tennant though good at doing an English accent told people he only had trouble with words that end in an "oon" sound.. So they added the Judoon platoon on the moon line to mess with him...

Series 3: the series where David Tennant really came into his own as the Doctor, and the series with the criminally underrated Martha Jones. I know I'm odd, but my favourite line from this episode has got to be "As time passes and I grow ever more infirm and weary." Am I the only one who sees Danny Driscoll when they see Mr Stoker?

If I remember correctly the writers realized how hard it is for David to say the "oon" sounds, like moon, without slipping back into his real Scottish accent.... So they're wrote the episode to screw with him. "Judoon platoon on the moon"

Katrina is a fashionista! 😍 And Paula is getting so good at seeing the bigger picture and being able to anticipate what may happen, but also still be shocked at the same time. I've been waiting for this season -- we're in store for some great reactions.

Martha's run gets a lot of flack - but I personally think this season has some of the best Doctor Who stories of all time. Most of them are just so good.

Martha is the best companion to me. She is a doctor, she is very clever, she is compasive, she is mature, she is beautiful and SPOILER ALERT she made a good decision at the end. The Doctor does have a brother named Irving Braxiatel and apparently they have a sister, an older sister or even a couple of sisters I think.

Martha had a tough act to follow, and they play on it, there’s always mixed reactions to her, and yet with Martha we got Blink, human nature, family of blood, sound of drums etc, she’s awesome....!

It's funny how sometimes people in small roles on a TV show, turns out to have bigger careers than the Main cast. This season has quite a few of those instances. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Andrew Garfield, Carey Mulligan.

Id forgotten we went from Donna at xmas right into Martha! I liked Freema a lot as Martha, lots of people had a hard time with her (or anyone who wasnt Rose) even though they deliberately made sure it was a very different dynamic between them.. My reaction back then was much the same as yours tho 😊

I must say I'm glad they created the character of Martha for Freema as opposed to making Adeola the new companion. It wouldn't have felt right for the Doctor to be picking up a new companion in the same episode that he loses Rose. Plus Adeola was sneaking off to screw around with her boyfriend when she was supposed to be working. What kind of companion would she have made? The Doctor would need her help foiling an alien invasion and she'd be off somewhere having a snog in a utility closet.

I am with Paula on this one: the Doctor is trying to convince himself that he is not filling a void by taking Martha on a trip. I think that, even if always lonely, he was ok traveling solo before he met Rose. But now, he hurts too much to be alone. And Martha has a spunk that is not too different from Rose's.

I will make a confession: I like Martha more than I liked Rose. Rose was too much of a swooning damsel for my taste. Never liked the idea of the doctor loving someone like her.

I prefer the pausing but ONLY when it comes to giving pertinant info tied to the actual plot or something need to know, for example if Paula has forgetten something or is confused about whats happened (and of course as long as it doesn't contain spoilers as well). However when it comes to trivial/fun facts about the episode it really slows down the flow of the episode and it's just not needed. I remember the runaway bride and there was quite a few pauses in it one after the other like about Roses shirt scene being filmed differently or how the money from the ATM had DTs picture on it. Stuff like that should just be held onto till the end of the episode
