I don't think I'm giving away spoilers when I say this: Only Doctor Who can give you the most heartbreaking moment of the series and not let you know it.

Paula is so not prepared for how brutal this two parter is. This is gonna be nuts lol.

River Song has entered the building! I love how Paula, who has never seen the episode before, becomes increasingly anxious as the story unfolds, while Katrina, who knows exactly what's coming, shudders anyway at some of the creepier moments. This is obviously a story that pushes a few of our favorite Gallifrey Gals buttons.

Neither one of them, River or this "young" Doctor, have been in this moment before. So, neither would remember it.

I can already tell this reaction two parter will be great with one party having intimate knowledge of what’s gonna happen and the other completely confused as to what’s going on.

Katrina really made me laugh saying to Paula when she saw the little girl.... 'Is that you as a child?'

Now Katrina can say "Spoilers!" when Paula asks what's going to happen and the phrase won't be a spoiler! :)

"That's what I want to know, Donna!" The sly looks that Katrina gives the camera just kill me. One of my favorite story arcs and when I think of everything to come....whew....

It's very fun to watch somebody react to this story as someone who has loved this two parter for years. The Vastha Nerada are one of the greatest monsters ever and the whole idea of a sentient computer system is so cool. This still remains one of the trippiest Doctor Who stories ever, but it's also my second favourite modern Who story. It throws so much stuff at you that your mind is just racing with all sorts of thoughts the first time you watch it. So many questions, I'm sure Paula desperately want the answers. I can assure her that next week will put everything into perspective and make much more sense. Really looking forward to next week, but I'm the same for the rest of this series tbh because every episode is at least a 9/10 from now on.

I found this episode to be one of the most terrifying in the entire series. I'd place the Vashta Nerada on par with or ahead of the Weeping Angels, having the additional creep factor of the Empty Child. I think there is just one other creature in the same league.

You two are among the best reactors I have seen on RU-vid - for any show. Katrina does such a great job of letting Paula experience the episodes, while providing just a tidbit of extra comments to make it fun. I have noticed that most of the time (with other reactors), the one who has seen it just can't contain their excitement and talks WAY too much, taking away from the experience for the newbie imo. (This is not a judgement on those people, as I know I - in that position - am not able to contain my excitement and knowledge. Just ask my older son who I sat with when he watched season 8 of GOT. haha). Also...the two of you are incredibly adorable, intelligent and charming, which makes your reactions fun to watch! :D

It's so unbelievably hard to answer questions because it's so incredibly easy to spoil something with this, but Katrina did a great job with that. This is where Doctor Who starts pumping out so many quality episodes. What a ride.

I just noticed prince charming is in this episode... and I've seen this two parter many times. Amazing story and visuals btw. Moffat definitely had something planned back then and, to this day, I'm absolutely satisfied to where he took that journey.

River is speaking to the audience as well as the Doctor. We have so much yet to come. Don't change a day of it. Don't you dare. Unlike many media promises, this one is actually worth it.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone look as concerned about anything as much as Paula looked for the entirety of this reaction!

This series has imo the best couple of two partners of new who, so looking forward to seeing Paula's reactions!

These two episodes are for watching Katrina's reaction more than Paula. So far it hasn't been disappointing.

I still find it crazy that the library part where the doctor meets river, is one of my old film classes. Did I pay attention in that class? Nope, I was counting the shadows.. 😂

Their timelines run more or less opposite So an older doctor has met a younger River song. This is an older River meeting a younger doctor. He doesn’t remember her because he never met her before. She met him, a future him. But she’s never been in the library before.

When I watched this episode, I had turned the lights off for a better viewing experience - and I spent the entire hour too scared to reach out and flip the switch.

this is a fantastic 2 parter, the intro to river. they way time works for them is in never the right order.. 1 week is so long away :D

You're going to make us wait a week!!!!!! This is THE perfect episode to watch a "newb" and a "not newb?" side by side reaction. When River was asking about the Diary and the Doctor saying he's never met her before....You look at paula and she's got a shocked face and then you look at Katrina and she's got a really sad face. And friggin Paula!!!!….. being the smarty she is knew to look at Katrina right then to read in her reaction to figure out what's going on.

Just realized that Dontnod took David Tennant's style in this episode for Mark Jefferson. Looks a lot like him.

For some reason, this is perhaps the most memorable DW episode for me, and potentially my favorite - remember when it first aired - I was so excited! :)

Paula looks to be about as emotionally devastated as I was when I first watched this.

I met Alex Kingston last Saturday at the VIECC (which was AMAZING!!!) and that kinda brought me here to your video (this one was the first one i saw from your reactions), since then I rewatched EVERY SINGLE of your reactions of New-Who but now with you, and cant wait to see your reactions tomorrow for the 2nd part!!! i really love your honest reactions! I introduced some friends also to Doctor Who so i know this feeling of not spoilering but beeing excited for and with them, thats so funny and amazing - and to see how they feel (like we still do when touching moments are happening) makes it even better! just keep on going girls,

NuWho has played around lightly with time travel paradoxes and so on before now, but generally limited them to 1 episode, handwaved them away with the Timey Wimey Ball theory, or even taken pains to keep things in sync that didn't have to be - for example Jack or the Master having very different personal timelines than the Doctor but still seeming to always meet him in the same order he's meeting them (technically Boe complicates things but we didn't know that until it was over). River is the first time they deliberately construct a more complex intersection of threads. I'm not sure it always meshes that well with with Who's fairly loose sci fi logic, but fascinating to watch the experiment!

OMG, Seeing the ep again for the 1st time through your eyes... Just reminds me how this double parter is amazing. Esp, with Timey-Wimey hindsight!!!! Girls, please re-react to these ep's in a couple years with the benefit of 20:20 Whovian vision!

River Song, one of the best if not the best who character ever

The rest of this season is some if the best Who ever. Four amazing episodes in a row, starting with this one. Stock up on Kleenex, because it's about to get emotional up in here.

When the time comes you two need to react to this video. Katrina knows when that is. Spoilers(kinda) Seeing a newb and a fan reacting to this episode at the same time is fantastic. Paula is in awe and full of excitement and Katrina holding back tears because she knows what's coming... I can't wait to see the second half.

Have to say, this is my favourite story, but it is such a mind bender that newbs often react in an underwhelming manner. So it was great to see Paula so invested in it. Oh yeah, Dr Moon, worst therapist ever!

I've been waiting for this but still it is affecting me.

This pair of episodes made me nuts at first. I had been watching new who but not religiously so I couldn't say for sure whether River had been in another episode in some fashion and I ended up watching every single episode in order. Alex Kingston is like carbon, she has chemistry with everyone and Moffet is like a guy who tricks you into buying your favorite house. It's a powerful combination.

River doesn't remember this because future Doctor never told her. He never told her for the same reason she's not telling him anything about his future: spoilers.
