"It was raining when we met." "It's the same rain." I have no idea why, but that exchange always gets to me.

To me the best part of how this episode was put together is that there is a reason why the Weeping Angels don't move at particular times. It's because while the CHARACTERS aren't looking, we the audience ARE. They only ever move when both the characters AND the audience can't see them.

Wait, we get Paula asking if this is the episode where 'Wibbly Wobbly' comes from, but we don't get to see her reaction to it =(

I am wondering if Cathy's daughter she named Sally grows up to be the Sally that Shipton marries in the 70's

Carey Mulligan is fantastic in this episode. She's an academy award nominated actress now but back then she was basically unknown. She has to come in as a totally new character and carry the episode and keep the viewer into it and she knocks it out of the park.

Fun Fact: The actor who played young Billy had to redub his entire performance because the actor they hired to play the older version of him had an accent. It's a perfect redub performance, and that ain't easy.

If you think the episode is creepy watch the Doctor Who Confidential for it. They're not statues.

"Get out of there, I want you to have a cute relationship with her!" Is how we all felt, and shows how less than two minutes of chemistry can control us viewers.

Imagine being the person at the BBC who's job it is to put away the angels at the end of the night ... and turn the lights off ;)

My favourite story about this was from a Who fan from the Netherlands. A lot of people there tend to be fairly fluent in English, and this was when video calls were just getting _somewhat_ more common. Also, Doctor Who wasn't all that popular or well-known at the time. So that Who fan had the "easter egg" video of the Doctor on their laptop and went to a public park with lots of people. Sat down and had the exact "conversation" as Sally in the episode. They apparently got a _lot_ of looks from people around them 🤣

Interesting fact, young Billy had to redo his lines because old Billy couldn’t do an English accent and there was no reason he would suddenly develop a Jamaican accent.

This is the episode I always look forward to the most when watching someone react to Doctor Who and you ladies did not disappoint! I'm pretty sure it's still one of the most popular episodes ever and it's cool that Paula was able to come into it completely blind. Great stuff!

Golly, I've seen statues just like that near me... The day I see one covering it's eyes is the day I can say 200 meters in 10 seconds.

This is one of the best if not the best Doctor less episodes ever. And immediatly an entire new villian that works extremly well as a horror character. They are maybe the best invention of either Moffat or Davis. The theory behind the weeping angels is very appealing btw. Without spoiling it but i think Anna knows what i mean :p

First time I watched this I was 5 and we were in London on holiday and I made the mistake of turning my back on the living statue guy

Oh sh**, Sally had a picture of a Weeping Angel and she put it in the dossier she gave to the Doctor. I wonder if it's still in the TARDIS, waiting for the right moment. Or maybe the Doctor got rid of it... 🤔

The difference is, Love and Monsters was horrid, and this one is epic.

What a great stand alone episode , among the best ever even though the doctor hardly features . Great cast , super acting and writing .

This is not only the best episode of Series 3 for me, this is one of the best New Who episodes and just one of the best episodes of TV ever made IN MY OPINION. The mystery, the suspense, the music, the twists, The monster's absolutely genius concept and so much else around this episode. Especially the tragedies that have to play out because Kathy and Billy are relegated to another time completely because they happened to know Sally. I also love the ingenious concept of how the camera is used because even in scenes where Sally can't see them, the audience can which is why they only move in the dark. (Hope a future episodes doesn't fuck it up.) It's just a masterful piece of original, genius storytelling. Fleshed out a bit, it could be a movie in and of itself. And it's then a film I would use to introduce people to the Doctor Who universe.

It's a real shame Sally didn't become the Doctor's companion at some point.

Or though Blink is not my favourite episode, the Weeping Angels are without doubt one of the best new series villains in Doctor Who.

Oh man... the Angels were so good as a concept in this episode. I personally feel they started using them too much, but I guess that was bound to happen. But they made the non-Who short story into anl episode of Doctor Who, and it's one of the best ones, imo.

Funny, I’m actually wearing a Weeping Angels Don’t Blink biker club style shirt.

This could have been a movie & the Doctor is hardly in it. Now I have to dig out my Coupling box sets. If you don't remember it this was Steven Moffat's uk sit com. Think friends with Knob jokes. Thing is some of the plots got so convoluted that there really are similarities.

Watching Paula slowly piece together how the Angels are working at the start of the episode is amazing. Great reaction as always and interesting to find out about the director of this episode. I never knew about Hettie McDonald and I've watched this show and this episode in particular countless times. Never really thought about it as I always just went to "Moffat" or "Davies" in my head.

Probably the best Doctor Who episode with Carey Mulligan right at the beginning of her career!

I know I'm late to the party, but all of the Angels were performed by women wearing full-face masks. I'm not sure if they were professional models, or actors, but they received special training on how to remain perfectly still.

They did a Doctor-lite episode last season - "Love and Monsters" - for the same reason. Much better outcome this time.

I just rewatched this episode and if my math is right Martha Jones dies at the age of 56. Assuming Martha is the same age as Freema Agyeman in 2007.

Can't believe I couldn't remember which episode this was going to be off the top of my head, it's one of the best.

I feel this was Doctor Who's best common-object terror since the Nestene mannequins were introduced with the 3rd Doctor back in 1970.

Is the graphics below always this green and blue lightning? This is the first time for me watching this show and I have to tell you, I'm two minutes in and my eyes hurt so much I had to stop. Shame, I really wanted to see this

Great reaction to a great episode. Paula will never look at statues the same way again....and no blinking, ever! And we never find out what they are doing with the bows and arrows. That really bugs me!

Series 3 used to be my least favourite series because of this stretch of three episodes where the Doctor is just absent for pretty much the whole thing. Of course when I grew up and didn't feel the need to see the Doctor in every moment I appreciated it as an incredible run of episodes.

Statues are quite easy to avoid but those freakin shadows are like everywhere... -_-
