I’ve decided upon my self to give her characters first names Susan merridew blue yonder Susan triad sr devils chord Susan triad as a hippie Ruby road Gina scallion her canon space babies name Susan villen boom Susan O’Neal 73 yards Penny pepper-bean dot and bubble Susan Duchess of pemberton rogue Susan triad legend of Ruby Sunday Susan triad empire of death
I think that’s giving RTD too little credit. The Susan and TARDIS hints were definitely red herrings for speculating theorists like WhoCulture, hence why they were mentioned immediately with lines like “Obviously even I saw that immediately”, but I don’t think RTD expected Sue Tech to be discovered as well
I can't believe this _just_ occured to me. In the extended Who universe, the doctor's wife / Susan's grandmother is named Patience. _Patience._ "The one who waits"...?
@@DrWhoFan_JI had the idea that 14 is only existing until 15 regenerates into 16. When 15 has his regeneration I feel 14 wouldn't be able to continue and would basically forced to reincorporate into 15 (especially if 15 bigenerates, it would make even less sense for there to be 3 of them running around in that way lol)
One interesting thing with the Sutekh Theory ... In the Devil's Chord, The Doctor showed Ruby her time as it would be if they didn't intervene; this is almost exactly like what the Doctor did with Sarah Jane in Pyramids of Mars.
regardless of who she is, it's safe to say that Susan Twist really understood the assignment. She's been sinister, funny and very versatile in pretty much every role on the show. The thought that she may be a villain makes me even more interested to see what's to come
I think this too. In Church on Ruby Road, at the beginning, she didn’t the TARDIS. She called it “an old police box” and was annoyed by it being there; she accused her neighbor of putting it there. Later on, she sees it dematerialize and she’s shocked, but the next time we see her, she pegs it as a TARDIS. I feel like, either she is Susan, and recognized it after seeing the Doctor fly off, or the Doctor will be going back in time, again, to the church and Mrs Flood will meet the Doctor in the past.
When it comes to The Trickster. The Trickster’s theme music from Sarah Jane Adventures is the same music that is played in The Devils Cord when Ruby is suspended in the air right before Carol The Bells starts to play. My theory is that The Trickster is using either Susan Triad, Ruby Sunday, or both to bring forth “the one who waits” which I predict will be Sutekh
I personally agree. While I haven't seen Sarah Jane Adventures, I do know enough about the pantheon to think it's pretty obvious he's going to appear at some point during RTD's run
I have seen The Sarah Jane Adventures, and The Trickster used Andrea Yates in his first appearance, and Krislok in his second, and finally, Peter Dalton in his third, all to his own ends. It's possible, but don't know how much so. Whatever is happening though, will tie into Ruby's backstory.
yes i believe this could still (hopefully) be possible. the jingles for him have been there in multiple episodes, including this one where the footage of ruby’s mum has her disappear. this disappearing noise is identical to his like completely
My theory is that the Tardis broke when 15 split it in half / duplicated it. Always seemed like a weird thing for them to do in the first place, but in retrospect, downright dangerous.
And he's clearly using the duplicate rather than original (they could easily have made it ambiguous -- made it look as if one Tardis had split in two, neither having a stronger claim to being the 'original, but instead made it crystal-clear that the original Tardis stayed with 14). If 15's Tardis is somehow dependent on the Toymaker's domain (as 15 himself suggested before he created it), then it might be more vulnerable to the Toymaker's legions than 14's Tardis. I am quite certain, however, that, if this is indeed the issue, it will be fixed eventually, and 15 will end up with a reliable Tardis of his own. Eventually
RTD _did_ say that there would be an episode where it's "Shown that this _is_ the original tardis, not a copy" and we haven't seen that proven yet... so maybe?
Carole Ann Ford was also at the Starbeast premiere and all the other past companions that attended have had some link with RTD's era whether in Tales Of the Tardis or in the case of Mel, The Giggle. Yet, Carole Anne Ford has not done anything within this era yet but Susan's literally been namedropped.
@WhoCulture Ellie.. You might have missed that in Wild Blue Yonder, Donna mentioned that her Head of Choir was a "Mrs Bean" who had a funny vegetable name & that her favourite song was Wild Blue Yonder, which in the novels, Wilf told her that it was not a happy song as it was about people going to war. It could be that Susan Triad in her "Pepper-Bean" phase was around to monitor Donna as a child. In her latest guise in Legend of Ruby Sunday, Susans belt also has a what appears to suspiciously like a Gold P & B on the buckle. Also have a look at Verse 2 of the lyrics of WBY, which refers a lot to what could potentially be happening. Interestingly the lines of the verse that can be associated with a lot of the aspects of the show also have "Devils chord" of 3 notes in the physical musical score.
I don't know if anyone has spotted yet but, so many of Susan Twist's outfits/surroundings have blue in it - the crew messanger lady in Space Babies had a blue outfit, the Ambulence in Boom has a blue backbround/interface, the hiker in 73 Yards has a blue jacket, Lindy's mother in Dot and Bubble has a blue background, and (I think) she had a blue outfit, or I think the outfit was cut off, so we couldn't quite see it. But either way, I wonder if that means anything? The TARDIS also happens to be blue, so maybe her being connected to the TARDIS in some way makes even more sense.
Yes. I thought this too! Also in Dot and Bubble The Doctor has a lighter blue background, Twist (like you say) has a darker blue background whilst Ruby's is yellow. So that makes me think that Susan is more linked to the Doctor than Ruby as well.
Its worth noting that the first time we hear the tardis groan in that weird way and see susan twist was in wild blue yonder.. which makes me think its not just because of duplicating the tardis or invoking the superstition at the end of the universe that would cause the tardis to groan, since the groan happened before.
I'm here after the episode... you got it. I feel SO dumb I didn't catch it, I was so invested in this idea that Susan Triad was actually the Doctor's granddaughter that I didn't realize who the actual mastermind could actually be!
I think that was the idea and for it to be a misdirect so the reveal can be more shocking and it also made the doctor think just enough for him to get close
There absolutely HAS to be some link to Ruby in this. All the theory videos talk about her being Sutekh or the Tardis or whatever, but we're forgetting the episode is called The Legend of Ruby Sunday - if its a Ruby plot, how would Sutekh, Susan Foreman etc link in?
Well, that depends on who she is. The big theory with Ruby is that she is the child of someone from the pantheon. In the devil's chord, Maestro confirmed that "the oldest one" was there when she was left on the doorstep in church on Ruby Road, so she must be connected to the pantheon in some way. Her being connected to the pantheon means she would have a connection to Sutekh or the Trickster. Even if Susan Triad is the tardis I am 100% sure there will be at least one god from the pantheon in this episode since its the entire point of the series, whether that ends up being Susan Triad or Mrs Flood or Ruby herself remains to be seen. Also, it is worth noting that Russel said Ruby's story will continue into season 2, so we aren't going to finish her story in this finale.
I think Ruby's background will end up being the Christmas special, she was born Christmas Eve, she's associated with it snowing, in maestro she triggered the carol of the bells. I think she's going to show some sort of powers or something that will set up the special but don't think it will be until the end
Came back here after watching the episode and I'm going to try and avoid spoilers here, but I love how almost all of these got addressed somehow... RTD knows the fans and knows what he is doing ❤
Im calling it now, i think the hooded figure is grown up ruby leaving baby ruby as a time loop thing ! Maybe she needs to be left there to be found to save the universe and so on
Honestly, I think this is the most likely turn of events. Maybe she will remember the 73 yards timeline and realise that she can go back in time to affect her own life.
that would make 73 yards relevant and not as much of an outlier episode. there had to be something important about the episode or it is just a waste of an episode.
7:47 It was just shown in a new RU-vid short on the official Dr.who RU-vid channel that the groaning sound came from the tardis in the wild blue yonder as well. Meaning that Susan twist started showing up around the same time as the groaning, which is both pre-ruby and pre-split tardis.
A theory I heard is that maybe the fob watch 13 dropped into the Tardis might be causing the Tardis to feel unwell whilst generating a version of Susan Twist wherever The Doctor travels to. Implying that Susan Twist is a manifestation of The Doctor's real mother, or Tectaun, or someone similarly important in The Doctor's unknown life
I think the reason she wasnt in the star beast and the giggle is because they are both set in modern day england (or at least in an area near UNIT tower due to the fact she was in the pub in TCORR) therefore Susan Twist would be Susan Triad during those episodes around that area.
Mrs flood is another water-related name. (Pond/River) I’ve always thought that Susan may not have been blood-related to The Doctor. The age gap may have just inclined her to call him that. Also, the name Foreman was borrowed from the junkyard. We don’t know if Susan had a last name. I wouldn’t be surprised if Susan Triad is related to Susan and have two hearts. 😉
My theory based on the 5 episodes RTD mentioned to watch. This helped put in a lot of context and lore. “Spearhead from Space Features the Nestene Consciousness” and “The Bells of Saint John” features the Great Intelligence. These are gods knows as the Great Old Ones, A Pantheon of Gods who originate from “Ancestral Universes” created before the current one. The Pantheon of Discord is a lesser known subgroup derived from the Great Old Ones. The toymaker mentions to the Doctor “A Pantheon within a Pantheon” during “the Giggle”. So far the Story is that during “Wild Blue Yonder” the doctor interfered with the unknown which he regrets instantly. Opening up the Possibilities of the Impossible which released the Pantheon of Discord into the Year 1925. Giving them Plenty of time to plan shown during the Giggle from the Toymaster and Maestro Destroying Earth in the Alternate timeline. The Toymaster also has a Sister, Hecuba. Queen of Time, has the ability to manipulate time and control the tardis. She also loves to play games with toys. During the season we hear the tardis “groaning”. The doctor unsure what this is. During “Parting of the Ways” we see rose absorb time and space and briefly control it to her wants. I believe that she tries to control the tardis as we see the tardis getting scanned in the trailer. Also could be the reason they’re using a bike to get across London. A Time window is also known to be in the next episode. During this Season we see Ruby manipulating time around her, making slight or major changes, creating Time Mirages when she’s emotional and it always connects to the Day she was abandoned on “The Church of Ruby Road”. Furthermore, During Space babies we see the memory again, but the Mother has changed time during that memory to warn off the doctor. Reassuring that she is Hecuba. I also believe that Hecuba is the One Who Waits, During “The Devils Chord” we hear Maestro mention that this power can only belong to the old ones, then becomes terrified to meddle in their affairs. Susan Twist I feel has played and lost to Hecuba, become her toy and been cast through time to watch Ruby. As during “The Giggle” the Toymaster Mentions the one who waits and ran as that’s someone else’s game. And finally onto “A Good Man Goes To War”. 1 phrase. “Demons Run when a good man goes to war” this episode shows how far the Doctor will go to protect his friends.
Regarding the TARDIS -- let's not forget that 15 is using a duplicate Tardis he created using the residue of the Toymaker's domain. The original Tardis remained with 14. And the way it was shot in the Giggle, it was very clear which is the original and which is the duplicate: 14's Tardis stayed in place and 15's Tardis emerged from it. They *could* have shown it as a single Tardis splitting in two -- one Tardis appearing to the right, the other to the left, of a vacant spot which the original Tardis had occupied. But no: 15 is clearly using the duplicate. Whether that point will be revisited remains to be seen; but I'd be disappointed if 15's Tardis would develop a problem without this issue being even mentioned (even if it's just to rule out that explanation)
No one mentioning that there are two of the TARDIS knocking round and 15 not thinking to check in with 14 and his TARDIS feels like its a massive plot hole waiting to happen.
I don't think it's necessarily a duplicate. I think it's like the bigeneration where it's the same tardis from further down its time stream. In the commentary episode for the giggle, Russel said that season 1 has an episode that will show without a shadow of a doubt that the tardis 15 is using is the original, not a copy. Since that episode hasn't happened yet, it must be the next episode.
It might not be that Susan Twist herself is the Trickster, but the Trickster is almost certainly involved somewhere as the Tricksters theme from Sarah Jane Adventures was heard in the Devils Chord
Calling it now... Trickster, with Susan Triad enabling the Trickster through commercialising time travel, something that would sow untold chaos and thus grant the Trickster immeasurable power. Due to the unfortunate passing of Elisabeth Sladen, the Trickster's final plotline was never brought to fruition, and that's likely something RTD has wanted to correct in some way for a long time. The Big Bad NOT being a returning Doctor Who villain as stated by RTD rules out Sutekh, however, the Trickster has never appeared in the mainline series, and would be more than powerful enough to warrant being a series-ending villain. Logically speaking, having the first series tie up loose SJA plot threads, and bring another member of the Pantheon of Discord into the main show would make the most sense, especially if your previous episodes have already featured previous members.
My brain has turned to mush from all the theories I've gone through these past few months. Susan, Rani, Mrs.Flood's identity, Ruby possibly dropping herself off at the church.. now to the idea of the Doctor being the father/creator or just unknowingly being a part of the Whoniverse's pantheon of Gods (somehow tying in the timeless child arc), "the beast" from Satan's pit, Ruby becoming a god, Ibrahim coincidence, etc. At this point, Jenny or River could be Ruby's biological mother, making her the Doctor's daughter or granddaughter, and I wouldn't be surprised 😩 I give up. Honestly, all I want to know is whose red painted nails picked up that tooth.
One theory not mentioned in the text is that Susan Twist is a reincarnation of Romana, a Time Lady and former companion of the Doctor. Romana is a character from the classic 'Doctor Who' episodes and has a close connection to the Doctor. She has the ability to regenerate, just like the Doctor, which means she could have taken on a new form and identity as Susan Twist. This would explain her numerous appearances throughout time and space, as well as her apparent deep connection to the central events of the series. Several elements support this theory: Reincarnation Motif: Romana has already undergone regenerations before, so it would be consistent with her character to reappear in a new form. Time Lady's Knowledge: Susan Twist's character demonstrates a deep understanding of time and technology, which would align well with Romana's background as a Time Lady. Relation to the Doctor: If Susan Twist is Romana, it could explain her repeated appearances and indirect influence on the Doctor's missions and decisions. This theory could add an exciting layer of complexity and nostalgia to the series by reintroducing a beloved character from the classic episodes, while also tying new and old stories together.
Not saying I buy into any of these, but I've also heard: 1. Susan Twist is the Meddling Monk. 2. Susan Twist worked for UNIT in 3's era, got access to the TARDIS while 3 was trying to recover it's secrets, and worked out enough of the tech herself to found her own tech company. 3. Susan Twist is Clara, scattered across the Doctor's timeline.
pfft no... Susan Foreman married someone with the last name flood and now lives next to Ruby :) edit: the trickster however, as of a plot leaked from the finaly of the sarah jane adventures that never happened is a part of Ruby, as he was supposed to be a part of Sky in the sarah jane adventures, he's like a parasite, sapping out the paradox surrounding Ruby until he emerges from her, Ruby's mother bargained her life to the trickster in exchange for her daughter to be a time bomb delivered to the doctor
Susan Twist character is Jenny the doctors daughter she is trying to impress her dad but messing up.The Triad is not the enemy but the 14th ,15th doctor and his clone daughter Jenny. Jenny could be being used by the true villain. As a bonus if you use the same logic for the creation of the name River Song to Ruby Sunday you get Rosy Resurection a possible Connection to Rose Tyler.
Not sure who Susan Twist will end up being, but The Doctor will end up being a child of the pantheon. The pantheon alter reality and cause chaos. Sometime in the past they decided to give chaos a physical form, so they created a child, imbued it with their power a dropped it into the universe. But the child forgot why it was their. Tecteun found her, experimented on her and gained a portion of the patheon's power. Specifically the portion that makes them virtually immortal/timeless. Eventhough the child had forgotten its purpose to cause chaos it is still drawn to it. That's why The Doctor always pops up when crazy stuff is going on. He is drawn to disaster/conflict/chaos, but instead of causing it he fights against it. When he reaches his penultimate form (again) as the Valiyard, he will embrace his chaotic nature and start causing true chaos throughout the galaxy. At that time we'll get a spin off with a group of companions working along side The Master/Missy and River Song chasing the Valiyard through time and space to stop him from destroying everthing and get their friend back by forcing his "last"regeneration.
Now we know, i think, why the Tardis was "hitting" the walls of the time vortex in every episodes opening titles screen. It was because it wanted to get rid of Sutekh, the god of death. Sutekh grabbed on to Tardis and the Tardis was trying to get rid of him, but the Doctor didn't notice any of this because of many reasons of which i believe it was the chameleon camouflage or whatever. Remember that we saw something similar in one of the David Tennant's era Doctor Who episodes where Captain Jack Harkness (who was made a "god" by Rose Tyler) grabbed onto the Tardis and flew to the end of time. What i am trying to say is that the Tardis tried to get rid of Jack too, but couldn't. Of course this time we have to do with the god of death, unlike Jack who was and still is a good hearted man. :) And by the way, why isn't this man here helping? o.O He IS supposed to have been an unkillable man for god knows how many eons. We know he turns from human form to that head creature called " The face of Bo ". :) Someone please tell BBC or whoever to bring this man back, earth needs him...WE need him. :) I would LOOOOOOVE to see Sutekh trying to kill Jack. XD Remember that it was Jack that was locked in a room full of radiation and didn't feel a god damn thing. Got shot and just wiped it out like it was nothing.
Carole Ann Ford is still around at 83... it'd be a slap in the face to use someone else for Susan Foreman, since she would age after being stranded by the Doctor...
There is a small clip on RU-vid where the Doctor display all Susan Twists Faces from earlier episodes including this cyborg and horn version of Susan with the pyramids at the background, so that won't likely be her "final villain form" or Sutekh
Not sure how this fits into anything, but we keep hearing about the BOSS in the new season. A while back RTD mentioned that the plot had something to do with the 3rd doctors era. The 3rd doctor had a story arc in the classic series that involved a super computer called BOSS. coincidence?!?! Probably, but something to think about. 😊
My theory. Ruby Sunday is the Daughter of The Doctor from River Song after their night on Darillium and she had to give her up because of her fate in The Library. So Susan is the daughter of Ruby Sunday since Time Lords it's all out of order as The Doctor mentioned.
I don't need to know definitely where The Doctor came from, but I'm definitely in the camp of those who want it definitively said that they're NOT the Timeless Child. Move The Division to season 6B, have Doctor Ruth come between Troughton and Pertwee, and make everybody happy. The big thing that we've been told (via the synopsis of the adventure) is that SOMEhow, the events of this episode will tie back to a Pertwee adventure. There's rumors that Sean Pertwee will (finally) be playing his dad's characters in some fashion, and we know there's a new Tales of the TARDIS episode that will be dropping next week, featuring Ncuti and Millie, (and possibly Sean). Russell has said in a recent interview that re-watching Spearhead from Space would be a good idea - I don't know if there's anything in specific there that it'll spin from, or if it's just a good episode to get you introduced to Three. But that's the detail that almost all of these Clever Theories to not incorporate.
The first appearance of Susan Twist is right after Donna throws coffee at the console, so it might be linked to the TARIDS thorugh that event. And the "indigestion" remark not as much of a joke.
Susan Forman doesn’t have to be Susan Triad, but what If she is a Susan Twist variant, Maybe the doctor will meet with his Grand Daughter after a long time apart and it turns out that she is A Susan twist variant in a similar way to Clara’s echos, not only would it be a connection to classic who, it would show how long this ancient evil has been trying to enter the universe (since the 1st doctor settled on Earth)
Your theory about Sue tech was spot on, but only 50/50? The 'tardis' anagram was so obvious, that it was discounted right at the beginning of the episode, although the Tardis was sickly due to Sutekh wrapping himself around it. Can't wait for the finale!
There is something not complete about the S Triad tech, else they would just be using Tardises. It could be knowledge and / or a power source such as the Eye of Harmony. There only person left in the universe who cares about Susan Foreman is the Doctor, but this universe's Doctor only thinks about Susan, but is not obsessed with her. The One Who Waits is apparently ageless, whereas Sutekh aged before our eyes. In any case, there is some connection to a Third Doctor story, not a Fourth or Seventh. There is so far to me one candidate who fits all of these criteria, also the rights to Inferno are held by at most two people, probably more the widow of the original writer, a widow who has worked with the Doctor Who franchise before, as recently as 2018. But there is no Third Doctor story that fits neatly into the limited time for a Tails of the Tardis format, unless it is only a part of one. Such as the alternate universe part of Inferno. I argue there is one and only one candidate who fits the above: The Inferno Doctor, who has escaped to the regular Doctor's universe, but does not have full control of Tardis technology. The Inferno Doctor would be the Doctor obsessed with his Susan Foreman, possibly the last person he had any close personal connection with. The character Susan Twist is playing could possibly be the Inferno Doctor's Tardis with Susan imprints trying to siphon off the energy of the regular Doctor's Eye of Harmony and otherwise keep surveillance. And Ruby Sunday could be an agent sent from the Inferno universe to neutralize the Inferno Doctor, forced to have her identity hidden from her due to Time War(s) or non-interference edicts. Think if each episode of this series is training Ruby Sunday on her target, a developmentally stunted fascist genius who has a horrendous plan to inflict destruction across the cosmos, possibly by desperately removing the Tardis safety measures, to break down the walls between imagination and reality.
Wouldn't it be cool if the Ruby's Mother was River Song? It could fit between the night on Darillium and the library episode and would explain why Ruby had to be abandoned and being river she would know that her baby would end up in a good home, and it would also explain why the Doctor says he cant step in because he recognised her and knows he cant cross the time line? My guess is that the mysterious woman portrayed by Susan Twist is the Doctors Granddaughter and that Ruby is the Doctors Daughter.
What fascinates me is that we have all these previews, teasers and theories about Susan Twist’s character front, right and center, and yet it’s called “the legend of Ruby Sunday”, implying that it’s Ruby who will somehow play the central role in the episode or at least in it’s resolution. Had Ruby even appeared in any promo for this one? Certainly not in any noticeable fashion
I can't wait to find out how everything ties together. I've been having Sutekh, Susan Twist, Susan Foreman theory dreams for days. 😂 Love to see my favourite rating system bac. I give this video 10/10 Malcolms. 💜
While watching the image of Susan Twist under the Triad logo it occurred to me that she looks very like Kate O Mara did as The Rani. If she is The Rani it would explain her appearing at different time periods since she is a Timelord. 73 yards left unanswered questions. One was how old Ruby travelled in time. Could the finale two parter answer some of these questions?
I can’t help but think of Sky Smith As she was planned to be the child of the trickster. Then “ the curse of Clyde Langer “ has a few similarities to 73 yards Something sacred is touch and a person is ostracised through the story.
They are either trapped in a television show realm, or the reality warping shenanigans have cause television shows to seep into reality. Many episodes have been direct references or homages to other shows (Ie. Black Mirror, Bridgerton) and then we have had callouts and characters seemingly referencing shows (Ie. Star Trek in Space Babies and Locutwist of Borg in the trailer, plus something kinda Night King-y from Game of Thrones). The Giggle was embedded in the very first Television signal, so it could all tie back to that.
That and all the television gimmicks like breaking the fourth wall, the whole dance at the end of the devils chord, the lights going down and spotlight on the doctor and rogue dancing.
06:15 - RTD asking "what ever happened to her" on an IG pic of Susan Foreman could just be a reference to the BBC Radio mock-doc "Whatever Happened to Susan Foreman".
It’s also the thing that the pantheon of discord isn’t the same as the toy make’s pantheon. The pantheon of discord is specifically the trickster’s and his brigade (think the time beetle from turn left). The toy make’s pantheon seems to be made up of his kids, with maestro being one of them. It’s also the thing that the doctor knew of the pantheon of discord before meeting the trickster, but he didn’t know of the toy maker’s pantheon until the toy maker told him. Furthermore the toy maker’s pantheon was lock away until the toy maker was released into the world and defeated, maestro even says so.
Yes, I think so too. It seems to me that part of the Doctor's memory of the Ruby Road events has been erased. He only remembered later that the cloaked person was pointing at him. Maybe he cried because he recognised Susan? And she was pointing at him because she wants him to look after Ruby as she can't do it herself for some reason, presumably to protect Ruby?
Wait... could Ruby Sunday be (a future incarnation of) The Doctor? And the hooded figure who dropped The Doctor off was The Doctor? Or could the hooded figure be Ruby's mother... Melody Pond! (aka) River Song? Think about it, she became pregnant with her husband, but never told him. Personally I'm hoping for "None of the Above", I like to be (reasonably) surprised. As always, thank you all so very much for the videos. Could Ruby be The Doctor's sister?
I think the Susan Twist character is some entity from beyond the edge of the universe, invited into our universe the same way that the Celestial Toymaker was when the Doctor did whatever he did in Wild Blue Yonder. I'm guessing this entity looks like she does because the Doctor and Donna had just caused some kind of paradox by starting that whole "mavity" thing, and whatever entity that crossed over has somehow been strengthening itself by feeding on that paradox, and Mrs. Merridew's face keeps reappearing for that reason. I'm hoping that part of defeating this enemy will include fixing this paradox so that we start using "gravity" again.
I prefer the combination of Susan twist being the doctors child / susans mom, and that shes Ruby's mom. So making ruby the first incarnation of susan. They keep teasing Ruby dying what if it actually happens and she regenerates. Maybe not after the first regeneration but later on she could regenerate into a young child again and be left with the 1st doctor to raise as his granddaughter
I have a different theory but linking to the trickster. I believe Susan twists characters are pawns of the trickster and he's using her to cause chaos throughout time by placing her at different points where the doctor shows up
I believe it’s the Toymakers Sister, Hecuba the queen of time. I think Susan played a game with Hecuba and lost, then she’s placed her through time to watch the Doctor. She has the ability to control the tardis too which is why I think there is the groaning noises from the tardis, a time window in Unit Tower and Ruby has abilities to manipulate time around her without knowing
We have been acting on the assumption that Ruby's mum dropped her off at the church... But Maistro said "the oldest one how could he be there" but already knows "the one who waits" is almost here... So they are 2 different beings... He was there... the oldest one. So unless the Doctor is the oldest one... Perhaps the hooded figure is the oldest one, and either has changed gender (not unheard of especially for a Gallifreyan) or there was someone else there in the shadows!
From what I heard, there is a Tales of the TARDIS episode coming right before the first part of the finale starts. This spin-off series features actors talking about past adventures of the Classic Doctor Who Doctors (1 to 7). Looking at the thumbnails on BBC iPlayer, every Doctor except the Fourth has an episode. From what I have seen with the trailers, the promo arts, and the finale episode titles... a lot is pointing towards Russel T Davis practically lied that there will be no returning villains or characters. - That promo art of Ncuti Gatwa holding out his hand has a background that looks very similar to the inside of the triangle in the Box Art of the Fourth Doctor episodes called *Pyramids of Mars* . Yes, I said episodes because Classic Doctor Who episodes were basically multi-part adventures. That episode is the one that has the villain named Sutekh and is currently the ONLY televised appearanced of that villain. - Each episode in Nu Who Series 14 has feature elements of *Triangles* in it somewhere. Russel T Davis in the past had done things similarly in the early Nu Who series with things like "BAD WOLF". Remember that the episode titles for the finale of Nu Who Series 14 are titled; *The Legend of Ruby Sunday* and *Empire of Death* . Those two episode titles strangly conflicts in themes and sounds like two separate stories. What if the whole Susan Twist thing is actually the show SCREAMING at us that she is actually Ruby Sunday's mother for *The Legend of Ruby Sunday* , and the Triangles that has been in the new episodes of this series is hinting at *Empire of Death* . Susan Triad as a character doesn't look completely old from what we have seen, so maybe... she was the mother that birthed Ruby back in 2004. The reason why she left Ruby at the Church was to keep her safe while under Sutekh's command. Sutekh disrupts time and has been stuck in the time corridor for YONKS! What if whatever is going on with the TARDIS actually is what is causing time to be disrupted and inadvertenly broke the time corridor? Whatever Susan Triad is working on is actually hurting the TARDIS and it may have been intentional. Why have I been mentioning *Triangles* of all things? Look at that Box Art of that Fourth Doctor episode. If you are wondering where the triangle elements are in the Nu Who Series 14 episodes are. I'll mention the ones I remembered. - The Capsules of the Space Baby Farms in *Space Babies* - The wall details in the Orchestral Room in *The Devil's Cord* - The Ambulance Interface in *Boom* - The logo of Albion in *73 Yards* - The door both Lindy and Ricky went through to go downstairs into the Conduit in *Dot & Buttle* (Green Circle with White Triangle) - The Tri-form in *Rogue* Triangles, Triangles, TRIANGLES!!! Why is it ALWAYS Triangles? And now from the teasers of the finale, the glitched out Susan Triad has pyramids in the background. The S Triad logo is also a Triangle! You get what I meant, it is EVERYWHERE in Series 14.
Time Lords are created, from a genetic loom. The Doctor is not supposed to be sexual. The childhood depicted during Capaldi's run, implies children grow up in homes without genetic parents, like Oliver, until they go to The Academy.
You know, the more I think about it, the more her being a mum (to Ruby or the Doctor) makes sense. She's been a mum or a mum-like figure this entire time. She was Newton's maid. Whose mum hasn't said something like "I'm not your maid, you need to tidy up after yourself"? Pretty much all the humans who abandoned the space babies were mums or dads in a way. Tea lady? Mum-like figure again. Mums are always there to cook us food or have a cuppa with. Ambulance AI? Mum-like again. Mums are always there to help tend to your scrapes and hurts as a child. I think the only two times she's not explicitly some sort of mum or mum-like figure are the hiker in 73 Yards, and the hippie in The Church on Ruby Road. It all seems too coincidental to be an accident.
no returning monsters and villains was clearly a ploy, you can never trust russell with things like that, cheeky man. He was clearly making people more shocked for the reveal which is brilliant and why we love him.
I don’t think Susan twist is the tricksters main plan. I think it’s ruby, she has so many links to the trickster like his ring being similar to one of hers and the fact that the storyline of the last series of the Sarah Jane adventures was about the trickster creating a baby on a doorstep, a foundling, to trick Sarah Jane. It all adds up in my head
I must mention that the ONLY other character so far this season how has red painted nails is Kate Stewart AND in every shot she's in either her hads are just outside of frame, or she is hiding her nails, or she is holding her hands in her back etc We really don't see her hands Yet we can have glimpses of her having red nailpolish if we pay close enough attention in E V E R Y episode she's in The only time we see her hand clearly is in 73 yards when there is an exchange over a picture on the phone and we get to see her hand clearly I very much suspect that ominous hand with the red nails to be Kate herself Maybe the master is playing disguises with her ? Either way, why is she hiding her hands so much when she happens to have the same nail polish as the hand we had a BIG shot on picking up that gold tooth ?
i have two maybe ideas for things coming up; The doctor is a child of a god or someone from the pantheon or at least someone connected the doctor arrived on gallifrey from some other place or Dimention, potentially somewhere related to the pantheon, The one who dropped off ruby to that doorstep is the trickster or a follower/disciple of them, maestro says something along the lines of why was he there on that day the strongest one the oldest one, also they seem to be wearing similar clothing to what we have seen the trickster wear before.
i think susan foreman becomes the rani after waiting for the dr to return and she focused on science to combat her feelings of abandonment and loss of her father which after a couple of regenerations lead to her becoming the rani. who was not evil she just didn't think of the consequences of her experiments as long as she got a result. that would make sense that subconsciously susan blocked out the hurt she felt of the dr abandoning her and focused solely on scientific research.
