the thing they mention about "guns not working inside the tardis" is a reference to classic who BTW in which they actually DIDN't work inside the tardis (but mostly cause squibs are expensive and they only had one set for the control room and it was STARK white so ash and burns would have been hard to clean) i also can't believe you skipped rivers best line ever "Well, I was on my way to this gay Gypsy bar mitzvah for the disabled when I suddenly thought "Gosh, the Third Reich's a bit rubbish. The reason for the idea of 'Killing hitler' is a time travel concept like the grandfather paradox. If you build a time machine to go back and kill hitler he would not exist and you would not have a reason for building a time machine to go back and kill him. This would mean you never travelled back in time and therefore Hitler would exist and you would build a time machine.

yeah but before that she must've regenerated too as she knew she could regenerate and knew what was about to happen. like she had to be the toddler she spoke about before. so it could go as her being born, toddler, astronaut girl, Mels then River although I have a feeling there is even more regenerations

Veno oh the hate for this episode is merely from people who haven’t put the pieces of the plot together yet. So in the politest terms they aren’t clever enough to have figured it out yet. Its a great episode. The only flaws are the pacing at the start like “I’ve got a gun, let’s go fuck hitler” but hey who cares.

That line is likely in reference to the regeneration we saw at the end of "Day of the Moon" where Melody regenerated in a dark alley in New York. Mels says, "Last time I did this, I ended up a toddler in the middle of New York." This would make Melody her first body, Mels her second and River her third. The only flaw with this theory is that the New York regeneration took place in 1969 and Mels grew up with her parents in the 90s (though she does mention that she has the ability to make herself young in "Let's Kill Hitler").

@Rain In July Amy was a child and met the Doctor in 1996. The girl in the astronaut suit regenerated in 1970. Unless she was a child for 16 years (which is possible) then the dates don't really add up.

And since she first regenerated in the late 60's it's possible that she did it again for one reason or another before finding her parents since they were born in the late 80's.

@@tinasara9949 I am not so sure there, maybe she did regenarate into Mel, which is the short form for Melody, when she was in that alley, either it was at that moment 69 like you claim, or maybe she was shifted in time from those who made her a trap, so that she is in the same timeline like her parents, to get easier in contact with the Doctor. I go with my second theory, cause it makes much more sense, and if it was 69 , then i still think she turned in that alley to Mel, and found a way to the 80's to stick with them. But i dont and never will believe that she regenerated into someone else between that, without that we ever saw anything of it, a completely wasted regeneration and form of her, for the audience. Nah... that is too far fetched for me !!

@@timmorgan3164 never heard of that, but the stuff I found was older, the black and white versions, so maybe you're right and Moffat decided to change it, though there are a lot of fans of the older name so they might not have accepted that and that's why it never popped up where I looked

AnEasyGoPerson YT In the 1996 movie we knew the Doctor had 13 lives. It’s interesting looking at the scene now as we didn’t know about the War Doctor back then. We knew at that point that the doctor still had two regenerations left so it made the scene look legit but once we find out it’s a clone of the Doctor it didn’t count as a life/regeneration.
