The worst thing with these B&M TARDISes isn't the ability of the tape to take the paint off, it's the ability of the tape to warp the doors. I recently got a War Games TARDIS, and the bottom of the doors are very noticeably bent, and it really annoys me. This wasn't a problem with the older classic TARDISes, as the old chunky base used to have a little lip to stop the doors from bending outwards, it's weird they didn't put that on the new base.
I missed out on the androzani 5th doctor and tardis set so I was more than thrilled when this was announced. Plus I didn't have this variant of the 5th doctor so an ultra win for me when I got this. I'd love for them to rerelease the Ainley master in the future.
I'd been unsure if I would get this set or not, since I had the androzani tardis, I had the planet of fire set, the paint apps on the tardis weren't as different as I'd hoped they'd be, but honestly I'm really glad I got it, the hatted s19 5th doctor was always a favourite of mine and the paint updates really improve on it, and it's a gorgeous tardis box that, although it could have done with being a touch lighter, still manages to evoke the feel of s19 which is a very special series to me.
It's a nice set, good to see a tardis without the concaved roof for once! oh, I had something to ask... Has Jamie Bate managed to put a site together to order those action figure scale tardis kits he makes?.. I'd love to purchase one after I saw your video
I've been following you since 2009 and over the past decade you've always had the same Tardis interior backdrop for your reviews. It's so highly detailed for what it is. Where is it from? Did you make it yourself?
My local b&m puts security tags on the bottom of each box. To deactivate the tag the staff at checkout roughly drags the bottom of the box back and forth over counter. This leaves scratches and sometimes tears on the box. Such a shame they do this.
I massively wanted this set for Christmas and was really looking forward to open it - and then proceeded to watch my brother open it... i don’t mind tho because I got history of the daleks 3 & 4 :)
@@themaypole True. It's just such a pain. I have to cycle and walk to the nearest one which is a pain because there are no others even remotely close to me. Then I go in and it isn't there. Crazy thing is, every time set has been there that I've seen except this one. And apparently the last one of these sold the day before I came. It's insane!!
I dont know if yours is the same Matthew but the fith doctor figure has a very strange feel to it. Like its made of a different plastic than normal. Just wondered if you picked up on this. Is it a cheaper plastic?
I love the classic TARDISes but the battery compartment and speaker holes are a bit distracting Do you think some milliput or something along with paint could cover them up?
Any news on an Anthony Ainley Master in his velvet suit? How about poor Adric?!? ::also, wonder how hard it'd be to swap lights and sounds from a flight control tardis into this...::
I'm very happy with this set... My one hope is that if they get a good enough budget next year and don't plan on ever making them electronic again, I'd like them to spend some money on changing or creating a new TARDIS base tool to remove the speaker holes and panel as well as the battery compartment, surely in theong run that will save them some money? Also it gives them the opportunity to make changes to the doors of necessary, if love to see a new roof piece and a proper Hartnell TARDIS or maybe use the war games one to give us more Pertwee ones, I'd love a season 10 TARDIS as that's one of my favourites and I hate the fact we almost have it but with the wrong light!
They could easily do another re-release of this TARDIS but with the 6th Doctor. They could repaint the 6th Doctor figure to (finally) have the red crovat from The Trial of a Time Lord. Either that or a re-release of the 1st/7th Doctor with their TARDIS.
Any variant of the sixth doctor wearing his multicolored coat will never appear in a B&M set because it's too expensive to paint, especially a tardis set where the budget is so tight they can't even include Sonic screwdrivers. Our only chance for a TV sixth doctor tardis would be one packed with a rerelease of the Caves of Androzani sixth doctor.
