@frostek there absolutely will be a 60th anniversary episode. Because you know the brilliant, amazing, absolutely fantastic thing about Doctor Who? The wonderful, stupendous, downright genius pro gamer move one of the writers made, oh so long ago? Regeneration. If the show is getting stale, if the writing is bad, if people don't like the actors or sets (all of which I think season 12 did fine, but regardless), then they can simply replace all of them at once and it's still the same show. The 6th Doctor and the 1st are the same person, even if I'm certain they had completely changed staff by that point. The composer for the 8th Doctor in his standalone movie may not have been too memorable - or maybe he was, I haven't seen the movie - but it doesn't matter, because we've got someone completely different synthesising music by using a violin/viola bow on an electric guitar! This is a show that could theoretically go on forever (and has survived over 50 years). It survived changing the lead actor 13 times, it was revamped after a multiple decade long hiatus with great success, and I have full confidence that any future hiatus will only take place after the 15th Doctor - not because they'll be bad, it's merely a best estimate considering the original struggled to make it to the 7th (and I don't recall any complaints on his writing or acting).

@@seandabest4329 Regeneration was certainly a brilliant idea, and it has kept the show running through numerous iterations through the years. However I think you're exaggerating its importance; the series can only go on as long as it remains profitable. One thing that unified the original run of the series were that multiple stories spanning different production eras were written by the same people; the likes of Robert Holmes and Terrance Dicks (among others). These guys basically wrote the running canon/lore for the series (as well as writing many, many novelizations) and kept the tone or atmosphere somewhat consistent. They understood the show and the characters, in a much more even way than NuWho - you wouldn't see the same writers from the start of the RTD era still writing now for example. Most of this 'old guard' had departed the series by the time the 6th Doctor started, and that era was particularly shaky in terms of writing quality, audience reception and viewing figures. By the McCoy era, the show had lost its way in the eyes of many fans; lots of people didn't think it was Doctor Who anymore. It was too silly, too flippant with established backstory, and a lot of people didn't connect with Sylvester McCoy's portrayal of the Doctor (of course there were many other issues with the program which contributed to its cancellation as well). One could draw some parallels with the way the show is currently viewed by many today. My point is that nothing is certain; it would be great if the show kept going for a long time, but I'm really not a fan of the direction the series is currently taking. Frankly, I think it should wrap up soon as I feel a lot of damage has been done to it in the last few years, coming from a lifelong fan of both the classic series and the RTD era. Obviously there's many who wouldn't agree with this sentiment but then we would need to ask who the current show is ultimately being aimed at. The show needs to remain fresh, while also understanding what tropes made it successful in the first place (the Doctor's past remaining mysterious being one example) in order to continue, but at the same time it shouldn't overstay its welcome, which I think its currently beginning to.

I loved Ruth's line about since when has she ever been limited by who they were before. So far that's one of the best lines of this regen.

@@blah7983 for me Doctor who hasn't been the same since the 11/pond era and I no quotes have hit me as hard since then. Smith, to me, was my most quotable doctor. But I did thoroughly enjoy Ruth. It kind of kills me not to enjoy Whittaker as much as I want to.

AlphaMineron they experimented on the Doctor and made them regenerate multiple time. And that’s only the stuff that hasn’t been erased. For now we can only imagine what they have done in between the time the Doctor/timeless child was hired by the division and when he became the 1st Doctor, but I don’t think it’ll be anything positive. Why else would they erase it all?

Eline Castelijns Many reasons for them to erase it all, from protecting their vision of divine origin to merely protecting some silly mistakes or maybe as you presume, the abuse of the Doctor. However it won’t be wise to imagine the negative, there isn’t any solid ground to make such assumptions anyway... we are bound to be wrong and that’s why its better to stay with what we know. Plus, The step-mother didn’t experiment on the Doctor like a lab rat... From the matrix playback, it was clear that the Doctor cooperated and his mother was merely analyzing him. Nothing wrong with the sort of experimentation they showed, it did the Doctor no harm and made many lives better and countless deeds that the TimeLords accomplished along with all the order they brought to the world specially through the Doctor which probably won’t have happened if the Doctor didn’t come from the TimeLords but merely as a child who doesn’t die easily.

They can't be, as the Hybrid was revealed in Series 9. You can see this as the Hybrid as much as you like, but deep down its not the real thing.

@@swiftsbetty They thought Clara and the Doctor were the hybrid but it wasn't completely sure, anyway Moffat's hybrid was a bad idea so I still prefer to consider the Master and his Cybermasters as the hybrid. They were probably so much thinking the Doctor was the danger that they didn't pay attention to the Master coming to destroy them.

I thought the hybrids are cybermasters- two warior races in one. Cyberman and Gallifreyans.and they stand at ruins of Gallifrey. (i am not sure if i write this correctly because i am not native speaker)

The Doctor refused to wipe out what remained of the time lords because although they lied to her, she still remembered the fun memories of that one time lord who would run through the streets of Gallifrey with her as a kid. "If someone pointed out a child and told you that child would be totally evil, to become a ruthless dictator that would destroy millions of lives could you kill that child?"... Even if it was your oldest friend?

I can see how this storyline can mess up a whole lot of what came before, but if you play it right, it won't actually hurt that much of what has come already. William Hartnell's Doctor once said he's had many faces before, and we know he didn't mean names, because he always goes by The Doctor. And the thing with Galifrey being destroyed, I get why people would think that just throws out a whole of development and basically spits on the whole what the 50th anniversary was being built up to do, but it was never about restoring Galifrey or The Doctor being able to go home, it was about him proving that even in his darkest hour, he still came through, and did the right thing by his planet, and the people he called his own. He left Galifrey and the timelords for a reason, because he knew that they just wanted to sit in their ivory towers and lord it over as the best race in the universe, while The Doctor wanted to help. Also, the thing about the timeless child, I don't mind it being The Doctor as long as it fits the lore, doesn't ruin the story or the character. The Doctor wasn't special because of who they were, The Doctor was special because of what they did, being a time traveling mad man alien with a blue box, going around saving people, and the timeless child can add to that due to them running from the people who hurt them, and instead of just hurting people, they save people where the timelords would just stand by, which is how The Doctor's always rolled. And the thing is, what if our doctor, isn't the same doctor as Ruth, and at the same time the doctor is the timeless child, it's not our doctor, but Ruth's doctor who's the timeless child, and she's the doctor from another timeline. Other timelines would be a bit of a twist, but at the same time, it would only make sense. Galifrey was taken out of the universe and put into a pocket universe, The Doctors did that as well as only giving them a single moment of time to work with, we thought that's what the consequence of this crazy plan would be, but the thing is, it wasn't that hard to overcome when the timelords put Galifrey back near the end of the universe. Well, what if the consequence was really, that in keeping it separated from our universe for so long, Galifrey had given other versions of our universe time to have access to it, and when Galifrey was restored into our universe, the other timeline universe managed to basically create a bridge to ours using Galifrey? It would make sense, because when the timelords set Galifrey at *the* center of the time vortex(basically the rest of time and space revolves around Galifrey due to how Rassilon anchored Galifrey at the center of time), what if when the other timelines interacted with our Galifrey, it kind of got attached to that timeline due to it being *the* center of the time vortex, just like the alternate timeline version of Galifrey is *the* center of the time vortex. In that vein of thinking, what if the master is from the alternate timeline, and that one timelady is from their version of Galifrey, and the thing with the cyber time lords is an alternate version of how the hyrbrid prophecy came about? One thing I do have to mention, as I'm writing this, it occurs to me that even Ruth being the doctor and the timeless child from another timeline doesn't quite work, as Ruth and the doctor said in Ruth's introduction episode, "Same brain" due to them coming out with the same train of thought, and if that were so, wouldn't that imply our doctor is also a timeless child? The reason I say it doesn't work is because although it could work because Rassilon managed to rewrite the dna of all the timelords who managed to survive the virus that gave them regeneration, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think he could rewrite the timelords dna using the dna of some regenerating alien kid he found, and then rewrite the kids dna so they become a timelord, it just doesn't quite add up, why would Clara not be there to stop the doctor from dying to the great intelligence when the doctor was being killed and experimented on by that timelady, when she was trying to learn how to unlock regeneration, and why wouldn't the great intelligence be there to make sure the doctor didn't regenerate each time they were killed for the timelady to study the regeneration process, consider that. That line of thinking led me to work out, it's actually the master. I know the doctor overloaded the matrix using her memories, including of being the timeless child, but those ones weren't her memories. I can explain this in part due to the connection between the matrix, the time vortex, and the timelord's regeneration process. When a timelord graduates from the timelord academy, their dna is strewn with codes that allow them into the time vortex, but more than that, those codes have a unique signature throughout time and space that allows a timelords memories to remain the same when regenerating(I say timelords because not all galifreyians are timelords, while all timelords all galifreyians, low born citizens of Galifrey can't regenerate, while the high born become timelords, and are given regenerations) because the codes act as a sort of ip address for a timelords memories, which are uploaded into the matrix from each regeneration and housed for each new regeneration to draw from. The matrix is also fed information from the minds of timelords and information gathered by their tardises, which allows it to come to it's conclusions, and it's prophecy's based off the information that is fed into it's calculations. How this factors into the doctor flooding the matrix with the timeless child's memories, is because with the timeless child's dna being used to grant regenerations by rewriting a timelords dna, the child's dna is also receiving those codes that allow access through the vortex and access to the child's memories through the matrix. The child's memories are supposed to be redacted within the files of the matrix, but because of this connection they have to all the timelords through a bit of the child's dna being in all of them, all the timelords can access the child's memories if they focus on them. Because of this connection, when the master from the other timeline universe asked the matrix who the timeless child was, it said it was the doctor due in part to it thinking that made the most logical sense, because after joining the division, the child disappeared from all galifreyian records, so the matrix thought it was the doctor, but it also said the doctor, because when it comes to the relationship between the doctor and the matrix, only the doctor was ever able to get the matrix to let him out of the cloister crypt, and when it comes to the prophecy's that the matrix generates, most of the time the doctor is the biggest factor in each one, and the thing is, with 2 timelines, and 2 time vortex's worth of information feeding into the matrix, even the biggest database in the universe is gonna struggle with working out what's what, and from where in time and space and which universe. And when you factor in 2 doctors now with all the prophecy's it's rolling out, it's gonna get somethings wrong, and it's gonna get a lot of them wrong involving the doctor, due to how intertwined the doctor is when it comes to the history of the universe. But anyway, back to how it's the master, it all has to do with him destroying Galifrey, he may have said it did it because everything about himself that he thought made him special only came about because of the doctor, but I think it's more than that, I think he started to remember when the matrix said the doctor was the child, and he started thinking about how the doctor couldn't be the sole reason he was special, but thinking on that, he started to remember, that the doctor wasn't the one thing that made him special, if anything, he was the thing that made the doctor special, because he was the timeless child, and the Galifreyians tortured and killed him and experimented on him, countless regenerations just so they could take it for themselves, that's why he destroyed Galifrey, and that's why the master is the timeless child. Also, if Ruth is the doctor that we know, I would say she is a possible future doctor, because even though she said she doesn't remember being Jodie's doctor, you have to remember one very important thing, The Doctor lies.

Some people responded to this with shock; I didn't. Having listened to the Big Finish Audio Dramas, and watched the classic series, I reckon Tecteun was the first incarnation of the Time Lord we later know as Rassilon, and this grand conspiracy regarding the secret to regeneration is perfectly in keeping with the Time Lords we know. You consider episodes like the Deadly Assassin and the Trial of a Time Lord arc, and you get the fullest appreciation of how corrupt the Time Lords are, desperate to do anything to preserve the illusion of their legacy or supremacy. In Big Finish, it's revealed the Rassilon was a bit of a fascist, basically synthesised the agent that would give Time Lords the ability to regenerate, but restricted others to 13 lives, not himself, to prevent anyone from surpassing him, as well as how he modified evolution across the universe to make the apex bipedal, like Time Lords, and any life that diverged was cast into a pocket universe, so they couldn't threaten the Time Lord's self-imposed superiority, and then claim that all life is in their image. It wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that he would have experimented on a child to acquire power, and then repeatedly wiped that child's memory, changed them into a Time Lord with all the restrictions that come with them, to prevent any of his secrets being found out. Once you take into account the vast canon behind the show, nothing really surprises you any more.

The might of his civilisations foundation was built on a lie, a lie of the Timeless child. So he either burned Gallifrey out of anger or fear of The Doctors identity and punish the ones responsible

I personally liked this reveal of the Timeless Child. With that in mind and the scenes with the other Doctors I really think that it fits together so well. The Doctor who saved so many lifes over and over again but sadly doesn´t know everything about her own life as she thought she does.

I personally loved the reveal. Things like the Hybrid make so much more sense now! And for me personally the thing in S7 where Eleven could heal River and half a season later he couldn't regenerate makes sense... I love 13's run. The show is not supposed to be the same thing all over again, it had to regenerate itself as well. There are also major differences between the RTD and the Moffat era, and it's still the same show.

especially when you look at evidence not just from nuwho, but from classic who and the extended universe!! from "simple" things like the valeyard and the other, to more nuanced things like the doctor never knowing their own age/always getting mixed up about it, to the doctor never feeling like they belonged on gallifrey. then there's even small things that aren't exactly evidence but *could* be evidence, like when scanners struggle before saying the doctor's a time lord - almost as if the doctor isn't fully a time lord. anyway I have Feelings(TM) about the Timeless Child Arc and they're almost all positive

i think, william hartnell's time line was going through the same training etc that the doctor's previous versions led, however this time, the doctor ran away and the time lords couldn't wipe his memory and reboot him (when they gifted 11 with a spare cycle). i have a feeling Ruth's doctor might have been one of the prvious lives attempting to run away like the doctor, but maybe she got caught? (gat and the judoon WERE after her for some reason)

As a punishment they completly erased her memory, forced her back into a child again. But this time the doctor run away and the timelords didn't followed. And i mean why sould they? This doctor, didn't had a clue who he really was nor he was time of the divsion anymore. It was probably even good for the timelords, so they didn't had to deal with the doctor anymore

It raises more questions than it answers. It causes many other plotpoints throughout the show to break down and cease to function. The Doctor is no longer from Gallifrey, literally not a biological Time Lord, merely adopted into their society. And yet we know this can't be true, because this would mean they're a different species, but we know the Doctor has had children presumably with Time Lords rather than their own kind. Hell, we've met their brother, so where the hell did he come from? Not to mention how River's ability to regenerate now makes completely no sense whatsoever. All this so that the Doctors we saw in Brain of Morbius could be canon? Seems like a lot more lost than gained if you ask me.

Who has always been deeply complicated and always contradicting itself. Right from the start. No one has ever had a proper long term plan they just go along with things. I'm not entirely on board with the Timeless Child thing, but the idea of incarnations before Hartnell goes back to the days of Tom Baker, before someone established the limit. Technically the "Time Lords" are Shoboguns, that became hybrids with the Doctor's DNA. We don't know where the Doctor is from now or what her species is, but I think we can still call her Time Lord because she was sort of made to be one. She's basically the original time lord. This is still a developing story and we have yet to receive all the information. To go back to my original statement, I agree a lot in Elevens era particularly has now been stepped on. But a few tiny plot holes may be fixed and we have an explanation as to why the Doctor is well...the Doctor. A Lonely Traveller. Sometimes confused and just deeply complicated.

@@nomnomnom55555 River's ability to regenerate was because of the TARDIS, and as the TARDIS is a creation of the timelords using the same regenerations abilities taken from the timeless child and the time vortex, it makes a bit sense that she too got the ability because of the child passed on by the TARDIS.

This video is gorgeous. It really exemplifies the good of this story in so many ways! And in some respects, it leaves some open-ended questions yet to be answered. I feel that people have been far too argumentative about this ending without thinking about the potential that has yet to even be touched by it. It's clear that the Timeless Child story arc is not over here and still leaves a lot to be explored in the future. Yet people are being far too resistant to change, which is quite ironic given the fact that this is Doctor Who we're talking about here. For example, the whole deal with the Hybrid from Season 9. The quote about "the Hybrid destined to conquer Gallifrey and stand in its ruins." Many have already begun thinking if the Hybrid and the Timeless Child could be the same thing. And an interesting thought that could possibly be explored is if neither are the Doctor, but the Master instead. Because, we don't really know how the Timeless Child is the Doctor, it's just what the Master says. And the Master has never really been the most trustworthy fellow. It would certainly explain the Master's hatred even more than if it was the Doctor. And if the whole ordeal of the Hybrid said to "stand in the ruins of Gallifrey" certainly makes sense when you understand that the Master reduced Gallifrey to dust singlehandedly. The point is, this story is far from over. There's bound to be more explored in the future, and I personally cannot wait to see where things go next.

What would be interesting is if the series ends with the doctor having their memory wiped, turned back into the child and being sent back becoming what they were at the start. Becoming their own bootstrap paradox but also an essential constant within the universe.

Honestly...the Timeless Child reveal has re-invested me into the show. I thought Series 11 was good not great and I was casually looking forward to Series 12, but now I can't wait to see Series 13 to (hopefully) get the answers to the fascinating left-over questions (i.e. where does the Doctor come from? why was she left there? who are the Division and will they return?) So many story-telling possibilities and (IMO) The Doctor has just become a more interesting character.

Series 12 gave me back the hype for Doctor Who that I haven’t properly felt since Series 5, which was just over 10 years ago. I didn’t really care for who River was. Never cared for the Doctor’s name, never cared for the hybrid or anything that came after the Pandorica arc. The Timeless Child arc smacked my head in with nostalgia and I am here for it! This is Doctor Who!

No, the whole point of Doctor Who was that any old person can be the Doctor, any idiot could be a hero. But because of the Timeless Child arc, it makes it seem like you have to be born special to be one. All of the actions of the first doctor running away from Gallifrey now have no meaning, and he never truly had free will. You see what this has done to Doctor Who? It's a tragedy.

They never explicitly said she was pre-Hartnell. In fact, when asked by Thirteen, I believe her answer was that it doesn't matter, who knows. So I think it'll be explored more later. I doubt it's the last we've seen of Ruth. I'm still clinging to the theory that she's a regeneration from the season 6B era. Fits in with having a police box TARDIS, working against her will for the Gallifreyans, knowing what a sonic is but not recognizing Thirteen's version of it, etc.

I have a theory. It works as a temporary solution until we get the actual one at least. "Ruth"s TARDIS was new when she got it and the chameleon circuit broke sticking on police box. When she was forced back into a child, the TARDIS went to the scrapyard and was made to look like any other TARDIS there. God knows how long later, the Doctor ran away from Gallifrey. A version of Clara told him to steal a particular TARDIS, the one that was his before. The TARDIS has always taken the Doctor where the Doctor needed to be and the TARDIS deliberately stuck as a police box again to give the Doctor a message. Because the Doctor was always a traveller with a blue box... Does that work?

I'm with you on this one, I think we are, for the time being, being mis-directed into believing that RuthDoctor is pre-Hartnell but when she was asked she didn't answer so it leaves it wide open to be something else entirely, season 6b if Chibnall wanted to. I've never been a champion of Chibnall's writing particularly during series 11 but with all the Classic/Lore refences he's been chucking in (along with the kitchen sink) in series 12 I'd be surprised if he let the massive continuity error of Ruth having a police box Tardis just slide. He did say that not everything would be wrapped up in series 12, it would go through to series 13 as well so I am hoping that this will be his next 'big twist'. 🤞

@Master Plan. but the Doctor doesn't choose what the Tardis looks like, the Tardis does - that's why at the end of the episode one was a tree and another was a house (I giggled like crazy at the house one, brilliant!). The Tardis got stuck as a police box in An Unearthly Child, when Hartnell steals it in Name of the Doctor, it is a standard cylinder shape, so according to what we have seen on screen, the Tardis was not a police box before Hartnell. I find it incredibly hard to believe that its a police box on 21st Century Earth, then after Ruth goes back, gets her mind wiped (or whatever is going to happen there), the Tardis is restored to default and then after First Doctor steals it, it just happens to take the same form when it lands in London 1963. Sorry but its just too much of a stretch and as I said, unless he's ignoring this whopper, Chibnall is too nerdy to not explain, I hope. 🤞

For me, the hybrid is the Master because for now, he shares his body with the Cyberium and stands in the ruins of Gallifrey. He killed the time lords and he is becoming more and more powerful so he is the perfect one to be the creature known as the Hybrid, made of two warrior races.

Sadly, it isn't. I'm not a fan of Chibnall, although i watched season 11-12, and i don't like his writing. You are saying that the Doctor has a lot more of mystery now. No, i dont think so. Thanks to the Timeless Child reveal, we know exactly who the Doctor is. We do not know his name though, but we now know that she is virtually immortal now. None of her sacrifices in the future will ever be meaningful, because she can regenerate infinitely now...There were A LOT of plot holes in the Timeless Children episode. And i mean A LOT. "Why did Clara not see the past versions of the Doctor in the Name of the Doctor, when even the War Doctor was revealed there, and he was sealed away in the memory of the Doctor?" "Why does Ruth have a Police Box exterior in her TARDIS if she is supposedly pre-Hartnell?" "Why the Master destroyed Gallifrey if he wasn't abused and killed like the TimeLess child was? He had almost no reason to do it." "Why weren't Rassilon, Omega, and the Other mentioned, when they were the founders of Gallifrey, established in the lore since the Classic Who era?" And the last one: "Why did Chris Chibnall retconned the lore and canon of Doctor Who?"

Regardless of whether or not you like the plot the fact remains that things happen that you do not like and would never agree with and can never change. The great thing about Doctor Who is even if you do not like a current episode - it has been proven different versions of the doctor and different versions of the master can change their minds and change history For Better or For Worse. This is the beauty of a show that is no particular genre other than what can only be described as ineffable

What I hope/wish would be the case is that the Garda/interventionism flashback turns out to be the long-standing fan theory that the Time Lords used the Doctor for secret operations between the end of Two and beginning of Three, and that Ruth is from this period (it would explain why her TARDIS looks like *the* TARDIS). The Master stumbled onto two secrets - the Timeless Child and Black Ops Doctor - and thought they were one secret, because if anyone's prone to getting hung up on the idea of the Doctor being the centre of everything, it's him.

My theory is is that the Doctor isn’t the timeless child: 1. You never see the timeless child turn into the Doctor. 2. The Doctor remembers his mum and his nan. 3. Ruth maybe Pre- Hartnell bit they never state that she is the timeless child. 4. This could be a ploy by Rasilon to get the master to be gullible enough to destroy Galifrey as revenge. 5. The timeless child could be the other (Other, Rasilon and Omega) and the other reincarnates into the Doctor. 6. We’ve seen 11 die and run out of regenerations twice (let’s kill Hitler and the impossible astronaut). 7. Bowlestrek did an excellent video explaining how the Morbius Doctors are not the Doctor. 8. If the timeless child was used as a genetic code for regeneration then how can River regenerate? 9. Maybe Chris Chibnall did this on purpose to set something up?

I don't know about Matt Smith and River. Smith's Doctor never ran out of regeneration. He was poisonned in a way that meant he couldn't regenerate, and he was shot during regeneration (we saw the regeneration energy, but since he faked it with a robot, we have no way of knowing if he really had regeneration energy left or not). The only time he didn't seem to have any regeneration left was in The Time of the Doctor, but that can also be explained. We know he tought he had only one regeneration cycle; so he must have thought he couldn't regenerate. He didn't even try to, because he thought he'd die. Clara then asked the Time Lords to help him. There are three possibilities: - They knew about him being the timeless child and faked giving him a new regeneration cycle - They didn't know who he was and gave him a new regeneration cycle (we can now guess it was taken from the Child's DNA) - They knew nothing about the Time Lord's origins and the Timeless Child. They have a source of regeneration energy (we know that for a fact since they gave some to the Doctor) but they don't know where it comes from. They took a regeneration cycle from that energy and gave it to him. (It could be a thing very similar to what we've seen Tecteun do) With the last two therories, they just added twelve to the infinite (so that changed nothing). We can also think that the Doctor was so convinced he couldn't regenerate that he (subconsciously) blocked his regeneration, and giving him the new regeneration cycle gave him a little push so he could start regenerating again River became part Time Lord because of the Time Vortex. Maybe the same thing happened to the Doctor, but at a bigger scale. The Timeless Child was found near a portal to another dimension, so maybe he absorbed the Vortex's energy, but at a much bigger scale (cause he went throught the whole reality of the universe and not only time and space). Or maybe River (in the time Vortex) went near the Timeless Child's dimension. River could even be way closer to the Doctor than we thought, like a second Timeless Child but nobody knew it. River's story never really made sense anyway (becoming an alien when both your parents are human, just because you're made in a Tardis?). The Timeless Child's story (regeneration isn't just an alien thing, but it comes from an unknown child found near a portal through our dimension) is very close to River's story and adds a lot more sense to it (even though it's still not a perfect theory, but as I said, River's origins have always been weird and hard to explain)

You know, this video actually makes the whole idea of the Timeless Child sound almost brilliant. I get how most fans/former fans feel about the entire history of the Doctor being somewhat retconned, but honestly the only problems I have with it is the reason for why they implemented this plot twist, and how they implemented it. If Steven Moffat introduced the idea without forcing down the throats of the fans the fact that the Doctor was at several points a girl, and of different races, I feel like this plot twist might've been accepted a bit better. And I don't mean that the problem was that the Doctor regenerated into a girl or with different skin color or anything like that, the problem was that the way Chris Chibnall wrote it in made it feel stale and uninspired with the only goal of the twist being to push an agenda. Honestly I feel like most entertainers and entertainment distributors nowadays forget that the best way to earn money through entertainment is to entertain and please the customer.

@Doctor Tophat Maybe your right. I mean I'll admit I haven't watched a full episode of Doctor Who since I think somewhere in the middle of Jodie's first season as the Doctor. Basically the only reason it feels forced to me is because of what I've heard about it, and because of how the BBC has reacted to fan criticism. I don't know, maybe I should stop focusing on how other people feel about it and how the company is treating the situation and just judge it for myself. That doesn't excuse the BBC for how their treating the fans, but maybe it's at least a little better than I think it is.
