Now complete, with all Doctors finally available! I must admit to making a couple of 'Homebrew' changes (such as making Yas 13s linked companion because it seems to make more sense) and additions (such as the companions mentioned by 8 before his regeneration), but this game really lends itself to that.
I need to get back onto watching Doctor Who. I'm finished the Eccleston series and then they took it off of Netflix, and I don't have Prime. Despite not knowing a lot about Doctor Who, though, I know enough that I am really intrigued by, and wanting to play this game. GF9 seems to be great at themeing their games around good IPs.
It was originally supposed to include Doctors 5 and 10 with an MSRP of $75; the BBC requested they bring the MSRP down to $50, so they cut two Doctors out to sell as an expansion (for $25, so it comes out the same). If they had to do that, it's pretty understandable to cut Tennant - the most popular one will be the best for moving the expansion, and the four left in the base game are plenty popular enough on their own to move it. (Meanwhile I'm left hoping they hurry up and get the 5 and 10 expansion out the door so they can move on to Eccleston. :P )
The manual promises every Doctor eventually and I know people who bought it at a con got the War Doctor. As a GF9 game that means that they will release him in the next year. So that leaves nine to release in the near future and probably give Jodie Whittaker a chance to get her own adventures and companions for cards and components.

Absolutely love that the game encompasses the entire show. If it was just the 9th Doctor and on it would have been a hard pass from me. But with classic planets and companions I have to get it.
This is one of those games I will buy simply cause of the theme lol... cause I don't see many if any actual board game with Dr. Who theme that isn't Clue, Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, or Yahtzee
I am a big fan, and I definitely enjoyed the Dr Who feel, and though I thought it was a blast to play through, there were two negatives to the game in my opinion: First was the down time. We played with 4 people and the game took two hours. Given that there is rarely a need to get help until the end of the game, there was little for you to do on your turn, Thus out of the 2 hours, each player really was only engaged for 30-40 minutes. Mechanics really felt divorced from the theme. Rolling and refilling dice to meet requirements really did not “feel” like Doctor Who. Again though, as a fane of Dr Who, there is some love for the game.
This game is mostly waiting while another player counts dice. I was hoping for more push your luck og at least some meaningful gameplay, but unfortunatly it's way too abstract. Yes, the characters are there on the cards, but not much story is told. The game needed another year or so in development.
Atticus Finch yes and no. You can play it solo and just play against the Daleks. It’s not the same experience but I did it once and enjoyed it as such.
I tried it. It's nice on its own but most of the cards rely on interaction and you can probably finish it in half an hour by yourself. I think more players will add some take that gameplay. It says that it is semi coop but it's more a race that can result in no winners.
